This bed and breakfast has been in place for many years, and the hosts/owners are lovely people with a lot of interesting stories. It is very close to everything Kilkenny has to offer, just a short walk to the main road. It is also just a few minutes walk from the train station. You will be across the river from the busier area with the main pubs and noise, so you can enjoy peaceful surrounds. Our full Irish breakfast was tasty and of course very filling. Plenty of hot water and bed was comfortable. The room was renovated in the recent past so that it would have an en suite bathroom. Our room had an extra single bed so if you were traveling with a child, it would be big enough for 3 people with plenty of room. We used the extra bed to lay out our bags. Overall a nice stay, we liked the town and people. If you like craft beer there are some local options! We also really enjoyed the walk path along the river on the castle side. You can literally walk for miles (and we did).

The shower has plenty of hot water, but it is small (the size of a single shower pan) so if you are large you may feel crowded. We didn't have any issue, but as note, there is no lift in the building so you need to be able to climb stairs to get to your room.

Nice classical B&B in a silent street very near the town center and with a guaranteed free parking on the street. The room was fine, fully equipped and spotlessly clean. Nice communication with the owners.

Not the best sound isolation of the rooms. The breakfast was ok, but nothing special (compared to other B&B we used on our trip). The beds were not the most comfortable type. Strangely empty car park in the backyard - parking there would give more secure feel.

The house is just a 5 min walk down to the river and cross the bridge right into the medevial city. The house and its owners reflect the culture of someone who has traveled a lot, the lady of the house is a writer and a painter. If you are interested in Irish culture you will enjoy to talk to her. The rooms are very big and comfortable and so is the bathroom. Of course the whole house is not brand new but very well mentained.

The choice of breakfast is not a buffet but, as in B&B standard, served to your personal choice, but with limited options.

This location was ideal! We parked the car for the entire day and walked to all of the attractions. The view from the second story room was stunning! You could see the cathedral’s and castle all around. It was right on the river so you could walk to everything. There was a Dunes Store very close as well. Our hosts were charming, checking in if we needed anything during our stay as we passed them by in the front entry.

It’s directly across from a grade school. I like children and their playing in the background so it wasn’t a concern for me. Just something to note if that would bother anyone.

Plenty of close parking, easy walk into town for dinner, the Castle and shopping! Our room (2) had enough space for 2 large suitcases 😁. Had hanging space and a queen size bed. The comfy bed, we slept well! The skyline view out our window at sunset outlining St Mary’s Cathedral was beautiful! Our hosts, Angela & John, were genteel & polite and they made a tasty breakfast to order.

Any movement on floors upstairs was very audible but luckily on our night the tenant above us was into bed and asleep fairly quickly after dinner. Our white noise app on phone took care of the noise and as I said we had a good night sleep.

We had a very enjoyable stay, the hosts were very friendly, very good breakfast too. The location is great, especially when you travel by train, as it is located between the station and the centre.

The kettle, tea etc was hidden away in the wardrobe and there was only one armchair, so if you want to have a coffee together, one person has to sit on the bed. The room could well be without the TV, as this was in a position where you could hardly watch it comfortably. We didn't miss it. there were 2 windows, only the small one could be opened.

Our stay was excellent. The room was very comfortable with unfussy decor, slept great. The location was perfect with safe street parking and walking everywhere in town was possible. We were on the top floor and the sky lights and view added to the charm. I even ran along the river and to a few sights in the morning. Breakfast was great and the inn keepers were so kind. Excellent value.

Not much. The shower was a bit small and didn’t drain well. Besides that stay was fantastic.

We had double room #6 that was on the top floor, 3 flights of stairs up. The room was large with a large entryway and a huge bathroom. They offered a great selection for breakfast and were very accommodating. The location is amazing because you're about a 10 minute walk from the great part of Kilkenny. This is a great stay if you're want to take a couple of days to explore Kilkenny.

Good location and friendly hosts, this B&B is a good choice for a short stay. The room was large and comfortable during our stay. Breakfast was delicious with the option of a full Irish breakfast and a vegetarian Irish breakfast as well as continental breakfast options.

We happened to be there during a warm spell and unfortunately the fan and lights were on the same switch, so it couldn’t be left on at night which made it a bit warm.

The location was great, within perfect walking distance to town. It was also very quiet. I had the full Irish breakfast which was tasty. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean.

My wife was only offered a continental breakfast. We had explained in advance that she is a vegetarian, but for some reason she was only offered the continental breakfast (yogurt, cereal, fruit, etc.). She would have loved to have the full Irish breakfast too just without the meat (eggs are fine). So, she left a little disappointed. We could have asked and chose not to, so I don't blame the hosts at all and we accept responsibility for not communicating this more effectively to them, just offering some feedback for future visitors (or the hosts if they read this).
