Location is beautiful. The grounds and walled garden are stunning . The reception area is impressive with beautiful decor. Grill room was busy at night. Attentive staff and good service. Pint of Guinness was 7 E. Glass of wine 10 E. Bed was large size and comfortable. Breakfast was great with plenty of choices. Staff were attentive. Bathroom is spacious with a large bath. Separate shower . Plenty of towels. Room was cold on arrival but temperature can be adjusted.

I was disappointed that there was no shampoo in the shower. I rang Reception and the phone was not working. My friends phone in another room was not working either. I found a Supervisor and requested shampoo and was told it was on a shelf in the shower. I checked and there was no shampoo. Again, I found the same Supervisor and told her that there definitely was No Shampoo. She said she would get some but laughed as I walked away. I got the shampoo within 10 mins. There were two Barry's tea bags and 4 health tea bags in room. . I requested ordinary tea bags and got some extra. . Small things but for the price I would expect a better service. The room was cold on arrival but I adjusted temperature.

It’s a fabulous hotel in a magnificent setting, beautiful gardens. The spa was lovely and dinner was also quite nice

We stayed in a room in the old building. On booking.com it was advertised as having a big bed which it definitely was not. That’s very disappointing since I upgraded to this room. Also it was very warm and there wasn’t air conditioning.

The food in the Grill & Bar was excellent

For a five star hotel and the money you pay I don't think they should be charging guests €25 to use the spa area. Very disappointed with this.

Lyrath hotel is gorgeous, luxurious and relaxing. Fabulous gardens. Food was top class. Staff very attentive and courteous. Dean and Karl (new guy from Carlow) were working in bar on Tuesday 22/04 and they were great lads. Very welcoming, chatty and hardworking. Everywhere in hotel was spotless & clean. Bedroom was very comfortable and the Rituals shower gel and lotion in bathroom were a lovely bonus. Music in the lobby on Wed night was also fab. Enjoyed our stay in Lyrath. Highly recommend.

No fault to find but thought the grill menu was expensive for what you got. Restaurant only offer one side as in potatoes, vegetables, chips with 1 main course. Slightly pricey as my fish main was quite on small side .Think 2 sides should be included in main course for what you're paying for.

The property is expansive with a renovated manor house attached to a modern hotel with all the amenities one would expect in a 4-star or 5-star property. We did not avail ourselves of the full spa or whirlpool and lap pool - see below. The lobby and sunny skylighted hall with lounge area is stunning. Breakfast was a buffet featuring many choices sufficient to please anyone. We had dinner in Kilkenny, about 15 minutes near by car. The climate-adjustable room was very comfortable - good bed - and the view was toward a meadow with cows lallygagging about as cows do. ;-) The is a school of falconry (Hawkeye School) on the property, but as there is apparently only one instructor, one needs to reserve weeks in advance. This is something I would have enjoyed had I foreseen the need for an early reservation.

A peeve of mine is that many places have a leisure center that is already closed down by the time one returns from exploring the area. The Lyrath closes its leisure centre at 6:45 PM. To accommodate reasons for being there in the first place, it should remain open until at least 9 PM.

We had a great experience at the Lyrath. The room was very spacious and had a luxurious feel. The food in the Grill and Bar was excellent, with a wide variety on the menu and delicious cocktails. Breakfast was also very good. We used both the gym and pool, which were well-equipped and thoughtfully laid out. The dressing rooms felt five star. We also visited the thermal spa - the infinity pool was the standout feature and i think it would be especially impressive in the evening or during snowy weather.

The coffee at breakfast didn’t quite meet our expectations. We ordered two flat whites but were served milky coffees with weak flavour. Unfortunately, the thermal spa experience was slightly let down by maintenance issues—both steam rooms were out of service, and only one of the two saunas was operational, which was disappointing.

Standard is not 5 star. Stayed at better 4 star hotels. Breakfast is buffet and was cold.. 5 star hotel should offer fresh cooked breakfast to order. .At 9pm asked room service for 4 sandwiches,3 were delivered half toasted (did not ask for toasted).we were told they had no tuna hence 3 sandwiches delivered instead of 4. No butter on bread and a handful of wilted salad leaves on the plate .To be fair we were not charged for this. Handed desert menus in the grill bar which were crumpled and sticky with food. Beautiful flower arrangements in the foyer but water needed to be changed as it was smelly. Yew restaurant was closed during our stay. Guests should be told of this at time of booking. Small complaints but if addressed would elevate to 5 star

I booked the property to take advantage of the Falconry experience upon learning of this aspect. I actually cancelled a booking at Butler House in Kilkenny to stay at the Lyrath. John and Carolyn were exceptional hosts for the falconry experience

Upon booking I asked about a shuttle to/from City Center- to be able to enjoy Trad music in the local pubs and not worry about driving after a pint or 2. I was told that taxis were plentiful and economical - they were available - but not economical running about 36 Euro round trip

This is our second time visiting Lyrath Estate! We love it so much, staff, food, Manor House rooms was where we stayed each time, Cannot fault it at all!! 🫶🏻

One thing I will say this time around we visited Tuppers bar just before we left the hotel, we received a dirty glass and when we asked to change it, the waiter brought back the same glass but with more ice in it. We then received a dirty (dried dirt/food) on our steak knife so we had to also get that changed.. but the food was amazing!

The nature trails were beautiful, especially the swans on the Lyrath Lake. I loved the atmosphere. The grounds were lovely. The dogs were sweet. Breakfast was delicious and pleasant. I found the views of the flowers, gardens, fountains and plants calming and relaxing. I enjoyed the pool. I loved that there was a wedding there the day I arrived, so many happy people.

I am sad that I didn’t get to enjoy more of the amenities.
