On arrival we were greeted with a very welcoming smile , the scones are really worth a try , The food the Woodford dolmen is one of the best places around to have a meal, Breakfast was more than filling, the Irish sausages ,bacon , black and white pudding first class. Nothing will beat the cup of tea.. Staff are really friendly and went the extra distance to make our stay memorable, Have to put a special word of thanks in for the bar staff, they felt like one of the family , from drinks to snacks no problems , Plus -- Warm, Clean , first class shower

The staff in all areas - reception, housekeeping, at the restaurant were friendly and helpful. When we asked for anything eg towels, ice it came very fast - much better service than in any other hotel i have stayed in around the world. Beautiful grounds and a v good breakfast. Daughter had fun playing with the rubber duck - cute touch! Also responses were v fast even when making enquiries before our stay.
Lack of a fridge - though I know fridges are often not standard in Ireland and UK. Lack of a vegetarian option with protein for dinner though the Thai red curry we had with veg and basmati rice was delicious.

Attended the IRTS AGM in the Woodford Dolmen with my wife. Everything was perfect from reception to bar/dining room, bedrooms and the conference facilities. The staff were all courteous, friendly and efficient in all departments. Mention must be made especially of Rachel in reception. As the first impression of a hotel is so important, Rachel was cheery, friendly and good at her job and thus created a great first impression. Our room was bright and airy with a comfortable bed. We had a number of meals in the dining room as well as a Gala Dinner. Food was excellent with great service. Congrats to a great team of staff.
There was nothing in the hotel not to like.

We had a fantastic stay at the Woodford Dolmen Hotel in Carlow. The hotel is modern, spotlessly clean, and set in a stunning, peaceful location—perfect for a relaxing break. The staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and helpful throughout our visit. The food was absolutely delicious, with plenty of choice and great quality at every meal. A few small suggestions: we stayed during one of the rare Irish heatwaves so I found the room did get quite warm even with the air conditioning turned down, so a fan would be a welcome addition. Also, the hair dryers in the room were a bit dated and lacked power. That said, the charming touches like the little rubber ducks in the bathroom really made us smile, and the beautifully kept outdoor area added to the experience. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and are already planning our next trip!

Everything. The welcome card with a cute box of chocolates on the bed. The bed was so comfy I slept really well, which is something I don't normally do when I am in a hotel. The breakfast was very tasty and the chef was very friendly.
One of the bar staff snapped at me as she gave me my drink in a totally inappropriate glass. When I politely asked for a gin glass. She snapped at me and basically to me to go away. I was shocked, to be honest, as I was extremely courteous to her and would expect the same courtesy back. We left the bar as we felt uncomfortable as she shouted down to me, and people were staring. It was early in the night after the murder mystery evening.

The bunk beds were an excellent addition. The bathroom makeover is very good.
In fairness to the workmen renovating bathrooms in the rooms beside us were as quiet as they could be but it wasn't ideal to have renovations going on during our stay. A little warning in advance would've been nice. I the bathroom I feel the floor tiles are too porous and will absorb fake tan etc. The plug mechanism gets caught in the tap. Getting out of the shower bath is going to be very risky for anyone with mobility issues. There should be a handrail to aid your entry into and exit out of the shower.

Everything. Because of Storm Bert delaying the Ferry from Holyhead we were late, arriving at 9.35pm. The staff provided a meal for us even though the restaurant stopped serving customers at 9.00pm. We could not find fault with any aspect of the hotel. Facilities were great as were the staff. We were at the hotel for three nights and do not hesitate in recommending this hotel to anybody and will stay here on our next trip to Ireland !
Nothing ! As experienced travellers, we could not find anything that we did not like. Please keep everything as we found it.

Breakfast was sensational, the bar was very cosy and the food freshly prepared. The room is spacious and spotless. The carpet is new and thick. The bathroom is spacious, warm and very clean. The bath tube is large and spotless.
Walls are very thin and poorly insulated. We heard the guests in the room next door talking until the late hours, and they weren't necessarily being loud. I personally prefer firmer mattresses, but for those who like soft ones, this is perfect. On arrival, My name seemed to have amused the male staff at the reception. What a shame, as no one likes to know that their name is a reason for giggles.

We booked late and had it at a good price. Hotel grounds are very nice. Food was really nice. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere with weddings and events. Such an idyllic spot.
The room didn't cool below 25°, we had a fan running constant and if we closed the curtains the temp raised to about 29°. If this slight issue could be solved then we would have had the perfect stay.

The food was lovely, I did think breakfast should be included in the price. Hotel is lovely but expensive, continental breakfast could be included. The gardens are well kept.
Maybe the next time we might ask for a room further away from Main entrance. There was a certain amount of talking and horn blowing for a time == late enough.
