The room was very clean, there was A/C, bathroom and room were huge, location was great and nice parking area in the back. I didn't have a view but it was really quiet and that's important for me. The original room was on the road and when I asked to switch, it was a bit difficult but luckily my friend switched with me. Breakfast was really good, just a hassle because I didn't book breakfast and they kept wanting me to pay full price (for the buffet) if I sat in the dining room with my friends and ate a la carte which was cheaper. I had to talk with them each time and by the third day I just sat in the other room alone, that only serves breakfast after 9am.

This was one of the most beautiful hotels we've stayed in in Ireland. Amazing ambience and very well kept. Historically very well preserved and every section of the hotel was beautiful to look at. Location was very good, just a short walking distance to the city center and the historical areas. Staff were friendly and courteous in all the sections of the hotel, restaurant, tea room and the pastry shop.
The room was very stuffy. We couldn't open the window for fresh air and the two nights we stayed their, I had a headache all night for lack of fresh air. It is an old building, and understandably, air circulation is poor. We had to turn the air con on to get some air in the room even though the weather outside was cold and rainy.

I personally stayed in the garden suites which were situated towards the back of the hotel and separate to the main building. As you walked through the hotel you saw the many amazing bars, rooms and facilities that were available at the hotel. My room was very large and the bed was very comfortable. There was everything that you would need and nothing obvious missing. I stayed midweek, so it was generally quiet and you could roam around the hotel and take it all in. I can see why it is utilised for weddings, as the hotel is massive and has all of the facilities that you would need. I travelled from Dublin Airport on the 717 (J J Kavanagh) coach and it was just a short walk to the hotel from MacDonagh Junction. Right by the coach stop is a shopping centre which includes clothes, beauty and food. From the hotel, it is a short walk over the river bridge into the centre where there are many bars, restaurants and cafes. Most of the bars have live music each night, which was extremely enjoyable listening to the old classics. I really enjoyed Lanigans Bar which served food and Guinness at very reasonable prices. It's also a short walk to Kilkenny Castle, which is very picturesque and worth a visit. My whole stay in Kilkenny was fantastic and the people there are so friendly.
Nothing.

The hotel looks amazing, the restaurant offers tasty dishes, and breakfast was freshly made to order. It’s centrally located and close to a park — perfect for a morning walk or some fresh air. Free parking is also available — a true luxury in the city center.
I had no hot water, so I wasn’t able to shower properly. When I informed reception, the answer I received was “perfect?” — which felt quite inappropriate given the situation. It was far from perfect. Perhaps there was something I needed to switch on, but an apology or at least some explanation would have been more appropriate.

Langton’s is a wonderful place to stay when visiting the quaint and historic town of Kilkenny. Though located on the main road, the rooms are set in a separate building at the rear of the property, offering a peaceful and quiet retreat. From the moment you step inside, it feels like stepping back in time — the hotel beautifully blends old-world charm with modern comfort. Antique character has been thoughtfully preserved, yet the amenities are stylish and up to date. We also spent some time at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed the vibrant ambiance, with live music and a great fusion of locals and fellow travellers. It was a truly memorable experience. It’s just a pity we only stayed one night — I’d happily return and make the same choice again. For those driving, the on-site car park is easily accessible and very convenient.
We were allocated a room with a bath that included an overhead shower — perfectly fine for us, but had I paid closer attention, I would have requested a walk-in shower instead. This isn’t a criticism, just a helpful tip for anyone with mobility concerns or those who simply prefer a standard shower setup.

Exceptional presentation and fantastic stay - room was very spacious, bed very comfortable, facilities and conveniences excellent, restaurant onsite food was exceptional, hotel was exceptionally furnished and decorated - absolutely spectacular. Highly recommend this hotel. Staff allowed us to leave car in their onsite car park till later in the afternoon so we could wander around town and the Kilkenny castle before we headed off on our journey later in the afternoon. Hotel right in the Main Street area handy to everything and easy to walk to many tourist attractions. Entertainment and food in restaurant was fantastic All staff very very friendly and helpful . A fantastic place to stay
Nothing it was all wonderful

Overall a decent place, central to the city with (included) parking, which makes it perfect for a one or two night stay. The room was extremely nice - we were in the back area away from the street and any pub noise. The room was well sized with a seating area (couch, table, chair) and a large bathroom. Decent selection of channels on the tube, wifi good, comfortable bed - checks all the boxes for a pleasant short city-centric stay.
We primarily stayed here because of the restaurant, which turned out to be the biggest disappointment of the stay as the food selection was minimal and the overall quality not as expected based on the advertising

The hotel is exceptionally beautiful, and perfectly located. The rooms are very clean and spacious, and beautifully decorated. The staff were out of this world, very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was lovely. The food and service was wonderful.
Very low water pressure in the shower, it wasn’t really enjoyable at all. The Tv in the room was quite complicated to use and didn’t respond to the remote very well. We were also plagued by false fire alarms (at least three times during our two day stay), and while the hotel had a reasonable explanation, it really did mar the stay, being woken up by a blaring false fire alarm at 2am (and other times). That said, I would stay here again once the issue is sorted.

The hotel is in a fantastic location—just a 5-minute walk from the train station and close to restaurants and major landmarks. The live music added a great atmosphere, and the restaurant staff were excellent, providing attentive and friendly service.
The room could use some upgrades. The heater wouldn’t go above 18°C , for reference-nighttime temperatures were around 7°C. The overhead shower head sprayed water all over the bathroom, making a mess. Additionally, the toilet required multiple attempts—often around 10—to flush properly.

The hotel is a strange combination Neo Gothic and Art Deco. At first I wasn't quite sure as the furniture looked quite tired but it's quite obvious that everything is of the highest quality. Even though the decoration and furniture has been around for a while it is obvious that no expense was spared. From the oddly deconstructed bench seats in the breakfast room to the aluminium topped bar area that looks like a bar from an exotic cruise liner, everything is a bit of a treat to discover.
