My reason for dropping points are cleanliness of room stains on carpet not by me ,drain hole in bathroom sink filthy,fan was not working again I did not damage it maybe a fuse problem! Receptionist staff lovely .Breakfast very good Mary very helpful and other breakfast staff. I always strip beds of when I leave a hotel room as a way of helping staff as it’s hard work to get round all rooms in a short time and I have family who run a b and b so I’m aware of the work involved. I write this review to only be helpful not criticism.Thank you for a pleasant stay .

Ms. Sarah, at the front desk was amazing. She was welcoming with a smile and answered all of our travel questions with efficiency and a true expertise. She is a great asset to the property. Breakfast buffet was fresh and offered a wide variety of choices. Especially enjoyed the poached eggs. Restaurant on 4th floor with views of the surrounding area. Service was very accommodating and efficient.

𝐀 𝐅𝐢𝐯𝐞-𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐛𝐨𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐰 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Talbot Hotel Carlow, and I can confidently say it was an experience to remember. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and hospitality of the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed, setting the tone for a fantastic stay. We stayed in the Killeshin Suite, and it was nothing short of luxurious. The suite had its own entrance hall, a beautifully designed living room with a flat-screen TV, and a separate, spacious bedroom featuring a super king-sized bed and another flat-screen TV—perfect for when my partner wanted to catch up on sports while I enjoyed my own programmes. The thoughtful welcome chocolates and greeting card left in the suite were a lovely touch, making us feel instantly valued as guests. The attention to detail extended to the bathroom, where the fabulous waterfall shower was an absolute treat. The fluffy bathrobes and slippers added an extra level of comfort, making it feel like a true home away from home. We dined in the restaurant, and the food was nothing short of exceptional. Every dish was beautifully prepared, full of flavour, and served by the most welcoming staff. Their passion for hospitality was evident in every interaction, making our meal all the more enjoyable. The following morning, we took full advantage of the swim/spa area, enjoying a refreshing swim, followed by a relaxing sauna and steam session. It was the perfect way to start the day before indulging in a delicious breakfast that left us more than satisfied. The later checkout was also a welcome luxury, allowing us to savour the experience just a little bit longer. A special thank you to the wonderful team at The Talbot Carlow. I want to give particular recognition to Kelly in reservations, Kerri at check-in, and Danielle and Sarah at reception. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail truly made a lasting impression.

All of the staff were extremely helpful and kind. Reception dealt with any enquiries swiftly and positively and were extremely approachable. The meal staff were certious at all times, well dressed and engaged into conversation whilst putting you at ease. The room staff were polite and on request supported enquiries positively.

Room 303 showed signs of poor refurbishment. There was a hole kicked into the single bed. The bathroom tiles were very poorly grouted behind the door. The door handle wasn't fixed properly and kept detaching as did the hand towel rail.

Staff were pleasant and room was clean and tidy. Very helpful and made an effort with the kids. Kids club is a great amenity and the staff at the Dome were very friendly. Plenty of parking , breakfast is served till 10:30 and is topped up all morning, didn't eat in the restaurant but it was busy the entire stay so I'd say that's a good sign.

Sauna and steam were a bit dirty and loud; empty bottles and rubbish in the steam room,locals shouting across the pool, kids in the pool after hours etc but still not too bad

Rooms very practical but comfy. Lots of good lighting, seating & refreshments (tea, water, biscuits, etc.) in family room. Beautiful breakfast buffet offered. Staff very friendly & well organised. Excellent Leisure facilities. Large pool & hot sauna, steam room. Great TV.

Room on 1st Floor above bar, restaurant, car park could be very noisy with loud patrons at night. Would ask for a quiet location. Please include the Eircode in the address as we had great difficulty when we put address in GPS without it, just coming from ATHY, Co. Kildare.

I have used this hotel on many occasions, I have recommended it to colleagues and they have also used it, from the front desk to the breakfast room, all is very good or excellent, choice at breakfast is good although a bigger plate wouldnt go a miss, choice of evening meal and beverages also very good

the one gripe I would have and this is only minor, I prefer a larger bath towel, I ended up using two but as I say, its only a minor gripe, I also did not like the weather but thats not the fault of the hotel :-)

It was clean, the beds were comfortable, the toiletries smelled really nice, the breakfast restaurant had an amazing view and the food selection was good. All the staff were very kind, helpful and pleasant. The live music at the bar/restaurant was excellent and the staff were very accommodating towards children. The soft play facility next door was great, and the swimming pool was satisfactory, with nice, warm enough water.

The conversations could be heard from next door, so the soundproofing wasn't the best in the room.

Staff were amazing as always. Breakfast each morning was lovely. Our room was great, clean, comfortable & spacious. Noise was a particular problem on this visit but was not something staff could have altered easily. Our last night 19th July was sleepless; unfortunately. Loud people and someone trying to enter our room continuously between 2am-4am, until we opened the door to tell them they had the wrong room. Regardless of ilmannered guests we are looking forward to our next visit.

We decided on a last minute stay before my son went back to school and it was just perfect. Value for money, rooms are beautiful, very spacious, clean. The swimming pool is all my son wanted and he loved it! The newly renovated bar/restaurant is absolutely stunning! We had a gorgeous meal. With fantastic value for money, I invited my parents too and they loved every minute of it! A big bonus is having the play centre, bowling etc right next door!
