Close to city but not in it. Good road access and excellent off-street parking. Reasonably large room. Attractive premises with potential to add stars. Pleasant bar with good seating arrangements and TV coverage.

Had 3 evening meals in bar (no separate restaurant in the evening); two good meals, third night meal served with lukewarm warm or cold vegetables. Room TV service awful; analogue only; 5 mediocre to rubbish channels. Some streaming possible but mostly "entertainment" channels. Staff response to observations and enquiries was a "that's the way it is" and an implied shrug. Otherwise, staff (bar, breakfast room) were excellent. No fridge.

Hotel was reasonably priced, clean and quiet. Staff were all friendly & helpful. Rooms were spacious and clean. There was free parking. Dinner is available in the bar, with a simple but tasty menu. Beds were comfortable. The hotel is situated right across from St Luke's hospital and about 5 minutes or so drive away from UPMC Aut Even Hospital making it an ideal quiet place for anyone who has to travel for procedures or appointments.

Nothing, however if you are there for the nightlife you may want something a bit more central.

The staff were exceptional The staff member on reception on the day of our arrival was extremely helpful he even changed our room to the ground floor on account of me having to use a walking stick even though I was prepared to take the room on the second floor. The following day he was working in the cafe and went over and beyond expectations to be helpful and extremely friendly. This was on the twentieth of June 2024. This member of staff made the our stay an absolute pleasure and we want to thank him and we are hoping that we will have the opportunity to stay in the Kilkenny Boutique hotel in the near future.

Friendly service Spotlessly clean and great customer service and location is perfect for attending the hospital.

Hotel room was newly decorated and very comfortable. A lovely quiet room was allocated, as requested. Staff were very friendly and helpful with a great trip about a nearby river walk- which was lovely.

The selection of breakfast was very good. Coffee was excellent but the hot breakfast items were overcooked , a bit dried out sitting in the serving dishes. I guess they are best when one is down early for breakfast. Breakfast is from 730 from to 930, perhaps an idea would be to stagger the breakfast preparation if possible.

Dinner that evening was awful in Dores pub Looked like something that was microwaved Should have eaten before we got there Had breakfast the following morning in the hotel in Ted's cafe wasn't expecting anything good but thankfully was very surprised at it was delicious... Very nice staff.. Friendly and efficient... Overall would stay here again as the hotel is beautiful... Clean and staff lovely.. Just dinner was woeful.... Need to do better here

Excellent location. Exceptional breakfast.

The hotel promotes one particular taxi company, and provides a direct courtesy phone to that company in the hotel lobby….but the taxi company was not contactable enough, not fast enough and not reliable enough with their pickup times. More than half an hour wait on Saturday evening. The hotel should provide the numbers for all of the taxi companies in Kilkenny…then there is a better chance of their guests getting acceptable service.

Staff from start to finish were so friendly and couldn't be more accommodating. I unfortunately hurt my leg a few days before travelling and was on crutches and Brendan changed the room to a first floor room to accommodate. Would highly recommend staying here. Also the lovely lady who was in the cafe and on reception when we called 1st was so lovely (sorry I didn't catch your name) absolutely 10/10 service for start to finish. Rooms were exceptional clean and comfortable

Absolutely loved our stay in Kilkenny House, we were a group of friends attending a charity function..... lovely friendly comfortable hotel and very close to the centre, have to give a mention to Brendan on the front desk who was an absolute gentleman and extremely helpful even turned himself into an elevator to carry up some heavy suitcases 😜😂...thanks also to the lovely coffee shop girls who served us with smiles and chat even though they were closing up when we arrived hungry great hospitality all round ....well done to all we had a great time and will surely be back again 👍👍👍

The hotel is beautifully decorated, the unique furniture dotted around the open areas really make this hotel stand out. The triangular window in the stairway is a really attractive feature. The room was spotless and the bed was so so comfy.. I even got onto amazon during my stay to order legs for my own sevan to recreate the height of the bed.

That we had only booked for one night so we couldnt hang around for the day.. It's the kind of hotel where you could grab a book or newspaper and relax for hours

Brendan, the manager, was exceptional. Very helpful & cordial. Lee, the bar mgr, was terrific. Very friendly. She arranged to turn one TV to the channel w the Green Bay Packers play off game & let us watch all of it even though it ended after the bar closed. All of the staff were very nice. Highly recommend. One issue which we knew was no elevator but staff helped us get heavy suitcases up & down. Mattresses were great. Excellent
