I loved the communal central tent and the way the space was decorated, as well as the food!
I was expecting it to be truly dark but there is a lot of light pollution from the tents and walk paths. It would have been cool to have a place to walk to that was totally dark just to look at the stars for a bit. I also think they could have thought a little bit more about the porch area so some of it was not under the tent (again for star gazing) and it would have been nice if they were at least facing away from the light. Some of the food was sold out by the time I got there for both breakfast and dinner.

We loved our stay at Under Canvas Grand Canyon! After a day filled with classic American activities, it was time for some relaxation, and camping here was truly a back-to-basics experience. Our tent had all the essentials, including a soft and warm bed, a private shower, a toilet, and a cozy heater—perfect for reconnecting with nature. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with complimentary wine and a lovely card, which made us feel right at home. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset from our tent and had the fun experience of making traditional American s’mores over a gas stove in the evening. Back in our tent, we loved being able to look up at the stars through the window above the bed. Although it was hard to capture on camera, the night sky was stunning and made our stay unforgettable. This was glamping at its best, and it’s an experience we won’t soon forget!

Delivered everything we wanted. We looked for a quality glamping experience close to the Grand Canyon and we got just that. Great central space with bar and food available, good live music which was a real bonus. Tent itself was really nice, great bed, toilet and shower facility was spot on. Wood stove a really nice touch and helped combat a cold evening.
Not the fault of the place but it was a cold night and waking up in the morning without heating prompted a rush to reignite the wood stove!

An incredible experience and certainly very luxurious. The tents are beautiful and the bed was sumptuous! The whole design and sustainable ethos was very much what all tourism should aspire to be - a celebration of and in tune with the hotel's surroundings, a light touch on the earth it inhabits, grounded and surrounded by the natural beauty which makes the place all the more unique and special. The staff made our stay truly dreamy and are the other stars of the show after the actual place it inhabits. Lovely people - unpretentious, helpful, knowledgable, serious professionals, individual and a great team! And close to get to the Grand Canyon - what could be better?
Very little to dislike.

We loved the safari tents! The bed was really comfortable and we had plenty of space for 4 of us. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck and watching the various animals pass by. It was so peaceful and quiet. We loved our stay!
It was too short (we were only there for 1 night…could have stayed for a week!). The shower was a bit temperamental with the temperature, but nothing major. Food is a little pricey.

What didn't we like?! everything was amazing! We arrive there, we were treated with the most enthusiastic new yorker employee you have, explained everything and took us to the room. The rooms were much nicer than ever expected, very spacious, as clean as they could get, large beds and very comfy and the shower, no jokes, probably one of the best shower experiences you can have. There was live music at night, free smores, food at the canteen was actually reaally good and you could enjoy your margarita listening to live acoustic music by the fire. A truly unique experience i am so glad i had during my visit to the US.
There probably nothing that could have been better!

The tent itself is really great. There were four of us staying. Both the bed and the sofa in the tent are comfortable. The place is near the Grand Canyon, we drove about 40 minutes by car to the southern entrance.
We stayed at the end of April. The nights are still quite cold. There is a stove in the tent, but if you want it to be warm all night, you need someone to keep the fire burning. Not very convenient. There could be more lighting lamps in the tent. The sink in the tent bathroom is inconvenient, in order for the water to run you have to hold down the faucet handle, so only one hand is free. If you want to wash your hands, you have to have someone help you and hold down the faucet handle.

This is definitely glamping. The tents are large and comfortable. There are no camping compromises on the in-tent plumbing--reliable instant hot water heater (pull chain for a Navy-type shower) and a very nice regular toilet. We were there on a pretty cold night (close to freezing), but once we got the wood stove fired up (they will do this for you if you prefer) and added the extra blankets and helpfully provided hot water bottle, we were quite toasty (although you will need to wake up at some point to feed the fire or face the prospect of waking up in a very cold tent). The staff are ridiculously cheerful and helpful. Food is excellent, including many vegetarian/vegan options.
Under Canvas provides an outstanding glamping experience. However, paying over $500 for what is fundamentally a nice tent has to be viewed as a lifestyle choice rather than an objective pursuit of value--with advanced planning, you could stay in a nice room at the Tovar on the Rim for about the same cost. Also note for families: The kids' tent is a great idea and comes with cozy zero-degree sleeping bags; however, for perfectly reasonable safety reasons, there is no wood stove, so you may find your kids joining you in the main tent at about 3 am.

Loved this place, amazing staff very helpful and gave great advice about the area and Grand Canyon. The food was very good as well. If possible go for the tents with stargazing through the roof above the bed, it was very cool.
Be aware that you’re in nature and even though it’s more “glamping” than camping it can get windy during the night making the tent a bit noisy - this is a part of the experience and should be expected in nature but if you’re a light sleeper maybe pick somewhere else.

Camping but with all the comforts of a hotel. It was cold, especially at night but the fire & hot water bottles they provided helped keep us warm.
We stayed at the Lake Powell Under Canvas the previous night and whilst the facilities and staff were great at both the Lake Powell site was a better location with wonderful views. We could also hear road noise at the Grand Canyon site. Would still recommend though.
