The room was clean with a comfortable bed, and I received a warm and friendly welcome on arrival, with a little tour of the house. I really liked the honesty bar, where you can easily purchase water, soda, beer, wine, and more, it adds a nice touch. The whole place has a cozy, homely feeling, with only a few rooms spread across two floors, so it never feels too crowded. Breakfast is served in what feels like a comfortable living room, which makes the experience feel even more personal. As a vegetarian who’s also lactose intolerant, I really appreciated how the host and chef took the time to prepare something suitable for me, it made me feel well looked after. I came here for a calm weekend before a busy work week, and it was exactly what I needed. The area feels very safe, and I could walk to restaurants at night or simply stroll around without any worries. For fellow vegetarians or vegans, I can recommend nearby spots like Kauai and Tiger’s Milk, which both have good plant-based options.

On the downside, the town can feel very quiet at times, almost a little too calm. As a solo traveler, I sometimes found it tricky to find places to meet and engage with new people. The house itself was also quite chilly; when it’s cold outside, it tends to be cold inside too. I visited in August, and I’d definitely recommend bringing some warm socks or cozy layers if you’re traveling around that time of year. This didn't take away the good experience, but I'm just mentioning this as an honest recommendation, but I'm still happy with the experience and place all in all ☺️

Shower in shared bathroom is difficult to gain consistent temperature It is a short drive from the restaurants at the seafront. I walked it as I didn’t have a car and it didn’t feel safe at night as there was no one around.

The whole team of staff were friendly and went out of their way on numerous occasions - we we're able to leave our luggage when we arrived early; and they stayed on and made sure we got a cooked breakfast one morning we returned outside the scheduled time without being asked. Great location for the reserve and the front. Perfect location for the local parkrun.

Lovely guest house, very friendly staff, breakfast was a delight! I had a beautiful room with multiple views, the bathroom was modern and housekeeping did a great job. The front terrace offered a nice spot out of the wind catching the last sunrays before sunset. (Also nice garden at the back of the house)

The guest house is a bit further away from the beach boulevard (10 minutes) and the morning traffic is a bit noisy but that is normal in any city😉

We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious breakfast served in the morning. The room was very comfortable with a television, a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Also enjoyed the complementary organic soap in the bathroom. The B&B was walking distance from the beach with a great view of the lagoon. The free wifi was of good quality and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

The things we didn't enjoy are very minimal and didn't take away from how much we enjoyed the stay. Something very small was that we would have liked covered parking, especially since we spent the whole day at the beach and didn't travel much, so our car spent the whole trip in the sun. Our bathroom drains were also smelly at one point, but it went away quite quickly when we opened some of the windows.

The breakfast was lovely, the views are pleasant, the bed is comfortable, nice toiletries, coffee/tea/milk in the room, friendly host and reception. Well situated with the river and mountains. Decent wardrobe. A comfortable lounge area with good chairs for reading. I'd recommend this place as it is within walking distance of Muizenberg central and chalk bay. The pricing is reasonable. Excellent Nespresso and drinks selection on sale.

There was no drinking water in the room nor a glass available, the sitting chair is broken, the shower temperature is unreliable (either scorching or ice cold), the bed should be moved to the opposite wall and have a headboard, the outside gate has no light outside - felt unsafe later at night when I had to search for the key hole. Not ideal that check-in closes already at 6pm. The WiFi is weak - struggled a bit with work on my computer. The lighting in the room is a bit harsh, another lamp would be great.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were able to check in early and check out late due to a medical emergency, and they brought me a chair for the shower since I injured my foot. The breakfast selection is good with freshly made to order items. There is free tea in the lobby.

The location is a bit far from all the main tourist attractions. There's no AC in the room and it was very stuffy and humid at night.

When you book a twin room and see the pictures of such a roon you like to think that is what you are going to get, but sadly no it was a smaller and not a very appealing room. I wish when owners place pictures and state the breakfast options then that is what you will receive, but it wasn't to be during our stay although the chef was very good and tried to please with what he had

The Muize is a lovely, comfortable, friendly and clean hotel. My room was spacious and very comfortable, very well cleaned every day. Breakfast was delicious and served at the communal breakfast table where I met friendly travellers from all over the world. All of the staff are professional, efficient and friendly.

Nothing, all great

The main room was amazing as it had a mountain view. Breakfast served was delicious. The outside sitting area was so freshing( that's where we chose to have our breakfast so that the kids can have the fresh air). The best part of it all was how close it is to the beach. It's a very quiet and peaceful place to stay at. Great for family as well.
