What a superb stay. We basically had the run of the place due to a slight quirk in bookings for that week. The room was amazing and the staff were brilliant. The facilities in the hotel were very good and it is a sumptuous and comfortable experience. Pool area was quiet and private. Plenty of rooms for guests, even if full, I think only 6 rooms!

I would not say I didn't like, but it is on the main road and sometimes a little noisy, but nothing to worry about. But the sea usually drown out the noise.

What I liked most was the quality of the staff and service. The manager who greeted me was very informative, helpful and a real problem solver. The property offers a turn down service in the evening and checks guests have water. The elegance of the house and the variety of seating areas on the ground floor and even the first floor were impressive. I liked being able to walk into the village and even catch a train to the next town. There are some good places to eat within easy walking distance.

The parking felt a bit cramped.

Beautifully decorated rooms with including spacious sitting areas throughout the Manor. Lovely swimming pool and deck. Delicious breakfast and excellent location in St James with walking distance to Kalk Bay and restaurants. Wonderful staff; Clive and Ken, helpful, friendly and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and give a 5 stars!

Location, helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast, spacious accommodation in the guest areas. Reasonable pool and decking space. Following a room move the accommodation and Outlook were excellent.

The room we were initially given was small, with no sitting area and no outlook with 5 steps up to the bathroom. However, having raised our concerns with the manager, she was able to relocate us to a much better room, enabling us to enjoy our stay to the full.

We had a very pleasant week. The staff were courteous and kind and most helpful. The room was beautiful, the bed very comfortable, the breakfasts superb.

The only not so good thing was that the taps in the sink either did not let any water through at all (one of the sinks) or the flow was very poor. So, we used tha bath tap for washing hands and faces, if not the shower.

Ideal breakfast options to suit all tastes. Cooked to order. Fresh fruit juices, salad and yoghurts. Fantastic friendly staff there to help at any time. Chilled pool area away from the hustle and bustle of the seafront ! Lovely property, very homely and well looked after!

Clive and Goodnews who greeted us. We were offered a room upgrade. The upgraded 5* room was a great space. Rectification of breakfast shortfall by staff who were not responsible for the host provision choices made. Location. Secure parking.

The pool was full of berries and leaves by mid afternoon when we arrived. The huge steps up to the loo in the bathroom area offered rather a hazzard for a middle of the night stop, unless a light was engaged. No continental option or fruit laid out at breakfast. The latter was provided upon request. The place was very quiet and lacked 'soul', though the communal spaces and rooms were very tastefully furnished. We visited towards the end of the season and it felt like there was a desire to do the basics, unusual for RSA and not experienced anywhere else on our 12 day trip or our previous visits. It is really quite top of the range in price but the experience did not match this, hence my low value for money rating.

The house is located where you want to be in the St James /Kalkbay area but it is big spacious and quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpful but stay in the back ground.

The traffic can be problematic but can be avoided by walking.

The staff was superb, attentive, friendly, and helpful. I loved the twin room I stayed in. It was cosy but spacious, and the bathroom was heaven. Everything was just where you needed it. And they even had plant-based milk for me. What a find!

The t.v. didn't work. No wi-fi, so couldnt use my own NETFLIX. Hopefully a temp glitsch that is sorted by now.

Our room was very spacious, comfortable, and well-furnished, and the property itself is beautiful with a lovely view. The location is perfect for those looking to explore Muizenberg and Kalk Bay, and we could hear the waves from our room. The pool area was quite nice as well, with large loungers and umbrellas. Check-in and check-out were seamless (thanks, Ken!). The breakfast was simple but very well-prepared and tasty. We didn't use the Honesty Bar, but it's helpful to have one there!

Would be great to have a coffee machine (preferably Nespresso) in the room, and the TV was a bit tricky to use.
