I love the Guest house, it feels like a charming boutique hotel and this is the 3rd time Ive stayed there. The owners have great taste in art and the location is perfect, just a few steps from Kalk bays main street filled with cool shops and restaurants. I love the cappuccino room service in the morning.

I paid for a deluxe room but was a bit unimpressed as it was a bit noisy, located between other rooms and you could hear the breakfast group in the morning, I assume just below the room. The bed was a bit hard, not made for people with curvy hips but the bedding was crisp lovely cotton. I dont love that the water is the room costs R39 for a bottle, most hotels etc officer a free welcome bottle, but there is a water fountain downstairs. I will return, Ill just ask for a less centrally located room.

Perfectly situated in the heart of Kalk Bay, Chartfield Guesthouse is one of those hidden gems a traveler happens upon. It’s a magnificent property with stunning views of the ocean, beautiful architecture and extremely clean rooms and common areas. The sun pours in on the large dining area in the morning complementing the professional and extremely accommodating staff. The breakfast menu is unique, the food is wonderful. It’s just a short walk down to the sea front and the Main Street is alive with unique shops and plenty of options for dining.

The word perfect comes to mind. It is a quaint cottage with everything you need. It was super clean and all the amenities you can think of are available. The view on the ocean is superb and the beds are comfortable. We had an issue with electricity that was out and within a couple of minutes of reporting it, the issue was resolved. The staff is excellent. I cannot recommend this cottage enough. Such a perfect stay in the most beautiful Kalk Bay

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Chartfield Guest House. The staff were all friendly and helpful on our arrival and during our stay. The room very pleasant and airy with stripped wooden floors and white bed linen. The breakfast we had on our last day was delicious, as was the coffee. We would definitely stay here again. The location is perfect. You are in walking distance of some very nice restaurants and bars, and the fish market is certainly worth a visit.

The toilet paper was very thin!

Breakfast is really overpriced .I would suggest to go eat somewhere else.Parking is a problem as well. Streets are narrow and no off street parking.Might make it very difficult to get parking nearby. The view was beaitiful from our room looking out over harbour and sea. It would have been interesting if there where more history info about this grand old house that is a 120 years old Tye room was a standard room.Nice and airy many windows and great view

The view is absolutely breathtaking, with a full sea-facing outlook that includes the charming Kalk Bay beach and harbour. Tucked just a street back from Main Road, the location strikes the perfect balance between peaceful and accessible—I loved how easy it was to stroll to all the shops, restaurants, and cafes. Breakfast was a real highlight: delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented!

We ordered a double room via booking, and probably it was the same "class" (double room), but we got a very small room, much smaller than was proposed with the reservation (with bath, 18 m2 etc). As we were staying for 11 days we hoped to get another room, but apparently it was not possible because of full house with the holidays. The room was fine end small, but it didn't correspond with the reservation.

Great stay in a wonderful hotel, very accommodating staff, great breakfast.

A lot of stairs without an elevator, in the regular working hours , there is help, but coming in the afternoon is problematic for taking heavy pieces of luggage to the room

Perfect location just steps to the center of town and yet very quiet and with gorgeous views of the sea. Super comfortable bed, great water pressure and hot water in the shower. Spotlessly clean. Lovely staff. Book this one and you won’t be disappointed!
