The breakfast was magnificent, as good an English breakfast as I have eaten. We had heard great things about the restaurant and wished we had booked dinner there too following our breakfast, but we went int the local for pub grub instead. The room was very clean, fresh and well styled. The spa and gym was impressive. I had a massage and Charlotte did a terrific job of removing some knots from neck and back. It was also the most comfortable massage bed I have ever been on.

The hotel room was disappointing for the price. It was quite small and there was no dressing table so my wife had to blow dry her hair in the hallway. There was no dressing gown, no biscuits with the tea, just the little things were missing that would make it more worth the price.

Very expensive for what it is.

Dan met us at reception and took us to our room. The room was spacious, airy and bright. The balcony and views were amazing. The bathroom had a bath and separate shower. The distance from the air tattoo was great. The fact that the pool and gym were included in the price, which was lovely to relax in after a long day at the tattoo. My son thoroughly enjoyed the high ropes, and the safety staff were fantastic and friendly, even gave us a lift back to our car as it was raining and far away. The restaurant was lovely and homely and, to my absolute amazement, allowed our furry family members in. The staff were fantastic, tailored my son's meals to his specialist dietary requirements and took the time to make us feel like valued customers.

It was difficult to find the entrance as the sign posted entrance was under construction. We had booked the high ropes which started half an hour after we arrived but no one explained to us where it was, how far it was and how to get there. It was difficult to find the restaurant as its not sign posted and all the building works between the reception and the restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wanted to book again for next year but the website only goes to June and when I asked in reception they said I would have to email the bookings team.

Location and quietness. Lots of room and plenty of walks. Modern shower, very eco friendly.

The only dislike was that I could have done with a fridge to keep some drinks cool. The only place to get a drink was the bar and it was a long walk. Water in the room would have been nice, particularly as the room was expensive. - just little touches that would have made a big difference.

Staff were outstanding! Extremely welcoming and friendly throughout the estate. Beds were exceptionally comfortable and the natural / rustic look and feel throughout the buildings, restaurant and grounds was wonderful. Everything looks and feels luxurious and the beautiful surroundings are the perfect backdrop to switch off from the outside world and reset. Food in the restaurant was very tasty and staff again, were fantastic.

A few things were slightly disappointing and didn’t live up to what I would expect for an establishment of this calibre, and price point. Starting with the room; there was no mirror at all outside of the bathroom which meant that it was difficult to get ready and to do hair (especially when needing to plug driers / straighteners in). The climate control system had a large screen with a very bright light which would not go off (even when we switched the system off completely), this meant that the room was very bright which made it difficult to sleep. There was no coffee machine in the room, only a basic plastic kettle with some instant coffee sachets, UHT milk cartons (no fridge in room for fresh milk) and we also had no standard English breakfast tea in the tea selection. Finally, the balcony was shared and adjoining with the room next door which we were not made aware of, despite the toilet / bathroom facing out onto it! Outside of the room, the pool was very cold, the steam room was under bright light which made it feel more dentist chair than tranquil spa moment, and changing rooms were absolutely tiny with people’s clothes left all over the place. Finally, we walked quite a while to see the farm animals which were advertised in the room as an activity, however upon finding the right area on the estate it was all locked up so we didn’t get to see them. Luckily we were enjoying a child free trip, and it was still a nice walk however if we had had our daughter I can imagine this would have ended in real disappointment.

TV wasn’t working, restaurant is really bad and room service doesn’t exist. Housekeeping is not there and for this price one expect these small things as it’s not an Airbnb.

There is nearly no services for the roonm. No cleaning, No new towels.
