We had a very comfortable stay at the hotel, especially with children. After busy mornings exploring the city, my kids really enjoyed relaxing in the swimming pool. The hotel is well located on the Buda side, offering beautiful views of the city. Many attractions on this side are within walking distance—about 20 minutes away. The hotel was clean and well-maintained, with efficient air conditioning. Our room was spacious and perfectly suited for a family with children. The staff were consistently kind and friendly throughout our stay. We’d like to give special thanks to MATYAS, who was exceptionally helpful and attentive. He was incredibly kind and understanding of our children's needs, which made a big difference in our experience. Team members like him truly elevate the level of service and give you a reason to come back. The hotel is also surrounded by a lovely park, and there’s a large shopping center just a 5-minute walk away for snacks and essentials. Breakfast was also very good. All in all, a great family-friendly hotel that we would happily return to.

The breakfast was rich and diverse, offering a wide selection of fresh fruits and delicious options, including Hungarian specialties, Japanese dishes, and Spanish-influenced cuisine. The hotel provides parking for an additional cost, which is convenient for those traveling by car. The on-site restaurant offers a decent menu for dinner, making it easy to enjoy a meal without leaving the hotel. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, featuring a coffee machine and the option to prepare tea—an excellent touch for added comfort. Overall, a great choice for a pleasant stay with good amenities and quality service.

The room was very warm, and unfortunately, the window could only be opened in a tilt position, which didn’t allow for proper ventilation. Since it was winter, the heating could only be adjusted centrally and not individually in the room, making it impossible to regulate the temperature to my comfort. This was quite inconvenient, as I would have preferred more control over the room climate.

Breakfast was good, but not excessive. The food was the same every day, the quality of coffee from the coffeemachines in de breakfast area is way sub par. The juices are watered down from sirup, but are "ok". The pancakes with Nutella for children are mainly eaten by adults. Haven't seen/heard a lot of children. A Bolt-taxi will take you to the center of Pest, the parliament or the Buda castle in under 30 minutes. Next to the hotel is a small mall, with a grocery store, some nice restaurants and luxury shops.

During our stay, a lot of Indian people visited the hotel for a conference and tours. These people came in with multiple busses around dinner time and left in the morning. It was near impossible to get into an elevator at those times. Maybe next time, staff of the hotel can allocate 1 or 2 dedicated elevators for these groups?

The hotel is nice, although it has an older style. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. If you have any questions or special requests, they will assist you promptly. The rooms are clean, but they may be a bit small for four people.

The rooms are too small for four people (in our case, 2 adults and 2 kids). For two, it is ok. Additionally, the bathroom equipment is quite old; some renovation would be necessary. However, they are still functioning properly.

The Novotel Budapest City Hotel has a very good location - close to the Buda Castle (Budavari Palota) with very good bus and tram connections to the old town - Danube cruises - Jewish Quarter - Saint Istvan basilica - and other tourist attractions. Breakfast was above the standard. The Staff at the hotel were amazing - very kind and helpfull - professionals with attitude and smile - good job. The Novotel Budapest City is definitely very good choice for families with kids - they have little swimming pool, sauna, playroom and fitness center. Hotel has own parking (15 Euro/day) - great price. All in all - great value for the price.

Everything was nice, comfortable and clean, bed was exceptional, breakfast was good, pool was nice and the water in it was pretty warm. The staff were kind and welcoming, the location of the hotel is very nice and has a nice view over the city from our room. The bus station is very close and it is 5 stops away from Buda centre. All in all, a geat experience and I'd love to come again!

The toilet is maybe too small and it is separated from the rest of the bathroom, but that can be a good thing also. It's just that it can feel a little claustrophobic.

Extremely service minded. Room big and clean. Great breakfast, especially the beetroot/carrot juice machine.

Gym needs to be renovated - no inspiration to train. Pool was too cold for me and slippery floors. No bacon at breakfast. Location but far from the action but excellent public transport options very close. If I ditched pool and gym I could have stayed more central for around the same price. No bacon at breakfast.

Staff at the front desk was very hapefull and professional from night shift to the day shifts.

Breakfast assortiment could be better and definetely should improve. No cut fresh fruit, only for the smoothie, season of tangerines and mandarines has passed away, season fruits should be intrduced on buffet, no selection of fresh cheses. This is not a negative comment just sincere view of hospitality profesional for possible improvement. Andrea

Breakfast excellent. Employees very polite. Very comfortable beds and the whole apartment. Very good quality for price. Long working hours of pool (6-23h). Good choice of amenisties (pool, sauna, salt room, gym, playroom for kids with toys and sony). Parking place 15€/24h (lasting all 24h even if you are checked out).

The pool is small for that hotel capacity, but we were going in the opening time, when there wasn’t anyone. The water in the pool is a little bit cold (24-26 C), you have to swim to get warmed. Location ok for transport, but for somebody may be long for walking (2 km from the center). If you are used to resorts, you’ll be dissapointed, but if you’re just an average conformist, you’ll be satisfied.
