We spontaneously decided to stay at this hotel to be near Andermatt to go up in the morning to ski. Andermatt was fairly full and expensive. The hotel was very good value for money and it was only 15 mins drive to Andermatt. Large room with nice view over the mountain. Nice breakfast. Welcoming staff.

We arrived around 7pm and the only open place to eat nearby was 5 mins by car but it was full. It wasn’t a big deal as we drove to Andermatt instead where there was plenty of choice. May not be ideal if you are moving by train/public transport.

We have choosen to have an overnight before the Gottard while going to Italy. For this hotel is well located. Small convenient ‘village’ hotel. The personel is super friendly and helpful. We also had dinner in the hotel as no other option in the village and we were happy with our choices. The room was super clean and very new equipement and very noice cancelling windows as river next to the room.

We booked a superior double room and although super clean, new bedding and bathroom, the room was very tiny and we could hardly move around with the luggage. But for an overnight stay perfect !

Very clean en recently renovated room. Floor heating. A comfortable king size bed. Hotel is on a good location to visit Andermatt (we went skiing from here - about a 20min drive). Very near to the train station. Owners were helpful and friendly. Simple but good breakfast. There is always a public parking spot available in the proximity of the hotel.

Everything was fine for us

It is a quaint small hotel in a small rural village in Switzerland. The mountain setting is amazing, and the rooms are very modern and clean, despite it being an old building. The family who run it was very friendly and helpful despite our language difficulties. Tina, who runs reception and serves in the hotel's bar and restaurant, went out of her way to make us feel special and welcome.

We had to access the hotel through a narrow mountain road - which was dangerous and difficult. But when we got there, all had been worth it. The only problem was that the TV did not really work, but we didn't really need to watch TV, with the beautiful views from our windows.

The staff were friendly and accomodating to us. They were flexible with check in times, allowing us to use their extra facilities and the owner Oliver drove me to Andermatt at 5 am in his van because the public transport had not started for the day.

Ollie the host was fabulous as was the cook Sven. They made our stay super comfortable and welcoming and the hotel had a real 'homely' feel. Food and drink were good value and the houtly/bus which connects with the train from Göschenen to Andermatt worked very well, for those not wanting to pay super expensive hotel accommodation up there. The Schnitzel and also Corden Bleu comes recommended. Breakfasts were great too

Nothing wring with hotel. Bus & train service to Andermatt worked to swiss precision timing, although cost of CH12 F for transport to/from Andermatt needs to be factored in. Even bus driver seemed a bit surprised how much it was

Stayed here for one night but wish we could’ve stayed longer! The area is quiet, charming, and conveniently located. The staff were all welcoming and nice, the room was very clean, and the bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in! We also ate at the restaurant which was cozy and delicious. What a great stay, thank you Hotel Sternen!

There’s nothing I would’ve changed

Great location en-route to Italy from the north. Great for an early start through the Gotthard Tunnel. Beautiful surroundings and quiet street. Friendly staff, excellent beds and animal friendly hotel (travelling with 2 cats).

A little stuff on the top floor rooms and the clock tower goes off every fifteen minutes...only a problem with the windows open

The hotel is a small hidden gem, definitely exceeded my expectations. The quadruple room is great especially if you have kids. I will be back for sure for a longer stay (just transited one night this time). Oliver and all the hotel personnel are great, I felt like at home.
