The room in the hotel annex adjacent to the older, main building was very pleasant. Contemporary in style, well-equipped, and very clean. Entirely pleasant. For an American traveler, more in an American style than would have been expected, But quite welcome after several days in smaller, more traditional European-style hotels. The restaurant was outstanding. A large and diverse menu, with standard and seasonal dishes. At the time (mid-October), this included some game choices, particularly venison, not often seen in hotel dining rooms. ' The service was excellent, from being recognized in the adjacent lobby, and then greeted and seated by a member of the hotel staff from the adjacent front desk, to being presented the large menus by the maitre 'd, as well as friendly, attentive service by the waiter. All done with courtesy and friendliness, and a bit of traditional style that has so disappeared from so many restaurants. The restaurant was very busy on a Saturday evening with locals, who clearly appreciated the quality of the food and the menu. The food was excellent, both the beef tenderloin my traveling companion had, and the pasta dish I chose. I had a dessert, a small chocolate pastry with ice cream and a nut topping that was wonderful. The breakfast the next morning was equally good, with many European-style choices as well as scrambled eggs and other choices more to the American taste. An excellent small hotel with very pleasant rooms and a fine restaurant.

Room was large, comfortable bed and good shower. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Selection of dishes for breakfast. Very handy for motorway. Nice town

Tea and coffee in the room would be nice also the mini bar was stocked with only one bottle of water, no other drinks available.

Great reception - friendly and efficient staff in all areas.Evening meal and breakfast good value. we stayed in a newish annexe at the side of the old hotel - rooms modern, large and well-appointed. Comfortable sheltered outside area despite very wet weather.

Surroundings to the sides and rear rather industrial. From the photo supplied to the booking site we expected a more "olde-world" environment. (Just a small complaint - the people in this generally excellent hotel worked hard to make our stay enjoyable)

Superb breakfast and exceptionally polite and helpful staff. Large, comfortable room for a family of five. Excellent location, quiet and convenient. Restaurant also very good and accommodating.

A small gripe, but the pillows were tired and unsupportive, and the bed linen overall was hot/not very breathable).

It was a nice place, with free chargers. After 10h I arrived with 30% and planned to use the tesla supercharger at 10 mins, but i was surprised to fine out they had two chargers. Saved me some time after a long journey

The location is perfect, near the centre of Altdorf! The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Our room was very spacious.

The room was quite warm, while there was no air-conditioning and we were there in a very hot summer weekend.

Friendliness of staff spacious room restaurant lady looked after us very well despite limited English.

It would have been nice to have a kettle in our room to make a cup of tea.

We had a good experience at Hofli. Free parking and free charging of our electric car. The rooms are clean, quiet and spacious, with comfortable beds. The hotel restaurant is very good and they have a nice sunny outside terrace with friendly staff.

There is no air-conditioning in room which might be an issue on hot nights.

Staff was superfriendly, location is perfect, walking distance from city center and close to drive to many beautiful mountain walks. We really liked that there are rooms that can sleep 5.

Room was too hot for us, although temp outside was cool enough and we had the windows open.

The room was excellent in the adjacent building. Very large, modern, clean and very comfortable. Handy location just on the edge of the town centre so for access to the sights and other eating options. Hotel restaurant was very good too.

Switzerland is not cheap but it does deliver quality.
