Staff here are incredibly helpful and friendly. Very good fresh cooked breakfast. We had an excellent bathroom- i could have stood under the shower all night if Sheffield wasn't full of so many fantastic pubs!
Not really a complaint but maybe a trick the hotel is missing- on the day of departure, we checked out , left the car and walked up through Endcliffe Park up to Wire Mill Dam ( we recommend the walk) got back to the hotel and thought we'd get a pot of tea and sandwiches before we left for home. Pot of tea fine but no sandwiches available on the menu only cooked food. Anyway not a moan just an observation

The breakfast is super handy for getting going hiking or exploring, sets you up for the day and great value for money as it's included in the stay. Ideal location if you plan to hike and it's right by the botanical gardens which we gave a quick spin into as it was so close. Loads of restaurants nearby.Very safe area, and clean
It was a bit noisy as there was weddings two of the nights we stayed but also I wouldn't let it put you off staying. Also it can be hard to get on site parking especially if there is a wedding on. But one night we didn't, we just parked outside the hotel and it was absolutely fine so also not much of an issue.

It is the second time my wife and I have stayed here. It is perfect when picking up or dropping off our son at Sheffield University. We live in Essex so it's a nice break in the journey. The staff were exceptional, the room lovely, parking onside, biscuits and coffee/tea readily available. Location-wise, it is walking distance to pubs, restaurants etc. The breakfast was lovely. We took part in the local Endcliffe Parkrun, and got back (in our running gear) in time for a lovely cooked breakfast. What more can you ask for?
In our opinion and experience, absolutely nothing to dislike.

Lovely warm room with spacious bathroom. Like coffee machine. Grounds lovely with blossom trees and easy parking. Quiet. Nice breakfast though see other comment. Staff friendly though not allowed to go out of their way.
I turned up at 8.35pm after a 7 hour journey. Just missed the last orders in dining room. Chef was sat on reception desk with receptionist and I asked if they could give me anything to eat. Flat no. I suggested a sandwich...again, no. Instead I was advised to go out again and drive a mile away or download an app and get food delivered. Thought this was poor. Apparently from a conversation overheard at breakfast, the hotel also has a policy not to replace any item with another...customer asked for extra sausage in place of an item they didn't want. Flat no. Both these stances are poor in my opinion. I paid 90 per night so comparable with a premier inn where you can eat as much as you like

An extremely well run hotel with pleasant, attentive staff. Everything that I needed was provided and free parking on the premises. The evening menu was interesting and the food delicious. Obviously a proper chef. I was served each night by Alicia who was very personable and helpful. The hotel is close to multiple bus routes into the city centre, a short walk from Eccleshall Road where there are numerous bars and eateries and a short walk from local parks and the Botatnical Gardens. A quiet location so a good night's sleep even with the windows open.
Hard to think of anything.

Halifax Hall is a great properly situated outside of the city centre. We’ve made it an annual base for our trip to Tramlines festival. The staff are always polite and helpful and breakfast is always excellent.
Only minor issues but the property has started to show its age with a few scuffs on walls in rooms and staircases as well as in the bathrooms where the grouting could do to be re-done. The rooms were very warm with no way of cooling them down . It hasn’t stopped us booking again for next year but just a bit of TLC would take it to another level.

The location is perfect for visiting uni students in Endcliffe. But also it’s a beautiful property set in a quiet area (apart from the occasional student noise but that’s understandable) with close proximity to the botanical gardens. Everywhere is so clean, the staff are really friendly. It’s a great price too. Breakfast is also very tasty and lots of it.
Please give the option of a kettle. Each room has a coffee maker but the hot water from this is not 100c and so doesn’t make tea properly. I was very lucky that they found me one but it’s not readily available. Also the cups are coffee sized and not big enough for the very nice teabags (not cheap ones!) . I like the honesty fridges on each floor too for refills.

The whole stay was excellent, from the coffee machines in the room, the top up facilities (milk, coffee tea) on each floor, the showers, the dining and bar facilities = superb. The staff were all so hospitable and it was excellent value for money - considering it was a boutique listing.
Need to highlight there is EV charging on site as this wasn't listed when searching. It was a bonus "discovery". A minor issue for reference is the student halls of residence on the site (very quiet) need to manage the small number of students rooms overlooking the entrance / carpark that had expletive banners deliberately posted on their windows (made in reverse from inside). Not a great advert for the university that owns the site and hotel.

Great location, free car parking, great hotel. Lovely bar, patio area, and restaurant. Great hot powerful shower with free Noble Isles body wash, shampoo and conditioner, very clean bathroom. good quality towels, comfortable bed. Coffee machine in room, fresh milk in fridges on each floor. Great to see that they have added an extra member of staff at breakfast less chaotic, such a lovely relaxing breakfast this morning. Staff are super friendly and helpful. We stay here every time we come to visit our son who is in Uni. We have stayed here over the past 5 years. Definitely recommend this hotel.
Nothing really. Just be warned a warm hotel.

Breakfast was excellent, the staff in there were attentive and friendly. The room facilities were super, the tea and coffee machine was great and the idea of having additional tea, coffee, fresh milk and biscuits on each floor is a real plus. The beds were comfy and super long. We stayed on the top floor and it was very quiet. No squeaky floorboards or banging doors.
It didn’t matter to us but there is no lift, this is clearly stated in the info provided in the hotel details. Plenty of ground floor rooms but it’s still quite a hike up steps from the car park.
