Nice big fish and duck pond and the crossiants are the best I've ever tasted with a coffee in the morning on with the price is perfect

The room has a slight damp smell about it but it's cheap and basic and get what you pay for really I would say it's great for a night or two

Excellent location. Comfortable room but could do with a sprucing up with paint but very clean and good supply of linen & towels.

No hot water at all and wasn't warned by reception staff that it was off

Bed was very creaky, scared to moved for fear of waking up the hotel. It was comfortable though.

Thank you very much indeed for placing me in a room away from the main smoking areas (entrance). Your constant battle to keep the hotel and facilitates such as kitchens, and laundry room clean and fresh smelling is incredibly appreciated. You all work extremely hard, particularly the housekeeping team who have the back breaking task of making the poorly designed built in beds. I love the added professional flourishes such as the folded loo roll ends into a point.

The following issues are NOT the fault of Jonas Hotel or the colleagues that work there; Other guests can sometimes be inconsiderate by letting doors slam, smoking in bedrooms, and leaving the kitchens in a mess.

The room was comfortable and had what we needed. The real bonus was that it was right where my son's halls of res are so taking him there and settling him in was really easy. Being able to park the car in the grounds was also a major help and facilitated moving in.

The hotel was fine - the breakfast was very limited and only had gluten options (croissants, chocolate croissants and danish pastry). Admittedly I didn't ask for anything without gluten but the selection could be a bit broader.

Caz and Nick always go above and beyond what could be expected of them, given the responsibilities, tasks, and time available. With a limited quantity of bedding and room availability they always endeavor to accommodate my requests for a room away from smoking areas such as the main entrance due to my asthma, and provide extra pillows owing to my spinal conditions. I REALLY can't express strongly enough how much this is appreciated, it feels such Diva-like petty and self-important behaviour to me, and as a Veteran I don't find it comfortable to ask for assistance. However the team here have always handled the requests with patient professional courtesy and diplomacy. Caz, Nick, and all the colleagues, and the housekeeping team respectively, are an absolute credit to Jonas, and I hope the company truly appreciates what they have in these amazing employees. The kitchen facility and laundry room are absolute life savers. Being able to store food safely in the fridges provided, and a range of cooking appliances available for a room rate of £40.50 - plus a free drink and pastry in the morning!

The disregard that a minority of guests and students show in how they treat the facilities available - e.g the bedrooms, kitchens inc cutlery and dishes, and the amazingly economic washing machines and driers in the laundry room. Look after what you have less it be taken away!

The colleagues at Jonas are always incredibly helpful, welcoming, friendly and professional. Providing and bringing extra pillows to my room, and allocating a room away from the main entrance where residents have a smoke - I have asthma. Having the washing machines and dryers, but also the kitchen to keep and cook food in is of amazing help. My total respect and sympathy goes to the housekeeping team who have the un-enviable task of making the beds that are fixed in place.

The following is outside of the the hotel's control, and is just a note for those who are light sleepers - Bring earplugs - Friday and Saturdays are noisier as the students return from town early a.m, and the doors to the rooms are heavy sprung - with the greatest care in the world it is often unavoidable for the doors to bang.

Everything was so clean and tidy, the shower even looked brand new. Nice and peaceful location within the student accommodation blocks. Lovely wooden table and lots of surfaces in the room to suit your needs. Good quality free breakfast!

The mattress in my room sinks in the middle unfortunately which hurt my back all night, good quality mattress though, if someone can move the mattress from feet end to head end, it might fix the problem for the next guest who's gonna stay in room 218. And it's not very sound proof so could hear the cleaning noise next door and above the ceiling quite loud around 9am, but they clean so well so I can take some noise.

There was always someone at reception and they were polite, knowledgeable and well-dressed. The hotel is in a quiet and upmarket residential suburb of Sheffield. It is very near the Botanical Gardens and conveniently close to the main road going into the city centre. A cooked breakfast is provided at the hotel next door. I believe it was only £7.50. Or a complementary hot drink and pastry item can be enjoyed at the Jonas Hotel itself.

I had the feeling that the hotel was once a hall of residence for Sheffield University. It had that kind of feel to it. There wasn't any tea or coffee making facilities in my room. But drinks and snacks could be purchased at reception. Other than that, no complaints.

The Jonas colleagues go above and beyond what can be expected of them. Thank you for the room location on the .01-22 side of the property and for the key to use the kitchen with oven+dining table enabling me to have my 1 or 2 hot meals in months. Thank you Caz for your patience and diplomatic tact with my unintended self-absorbed blathering after a very difficult few weeks, when you have a great deal to contend with.

This isn't a complaint or fault find purely a suggestion: Re: kitchens without a dining table or seating A 1ft deep shelf along the wall, or drop down section of worktop with bar stools/foldable chairs would be really useful, and help towards reducing spillage/smells in rooms; saving the housekeeping teams valuable time and cleaning chemicals.
