Quiet area, nice view of horses in fields, you could open the window, the lady at breakfast was very helpful and chatty.

After a long ferry from Portsmouth, we did not like having to check in using a screen and the confirmation number. The screen was in English but I understood two numbers were needed but in fact it was one 6 digit number. I had to add my name and email as additional information which I don't recall being required at the time of booking. My email with the 6 digit code was received instantly and the email to my wife ( the booking name) arrived much later.

We arrived from the ferry and the reception was closed Th e check in procedure on the machine is a nightmare. It is unfamiliar to most people...the pin numbers , confirmation numbers and reservation numbers are all irrelevant!! The vital booking number may be onan email accessed by WiFi which guess what is inside the locked building!! Even those who had paid were asked to pay again!! ( no mention the payment was only for the taxes de sejour) In all this chaos it is possible to book twice!

The hotel is simple, yet much better than others that claim to be fancier. The room is spacious, bed comfortable, good shower, clean. The no key/card system is pretty good. Vending machine of some options of meals, snacks and drinks. Coffee machine and microwave available too. Free parking!

I would like a simple hair dryer in the room without have to ask at the reception. One more pillow as well. Most of the lights in the room didn’t work independently of one another, so it was annoying having a clear light in your face on the bed if you needed to switch on other lights. No average english news channel working. For me these were small details that didn’t bother that much, but would make the experience more comfortable 😉

We booked this hotel for easy access to the ferry for an early morning departure. Also the location for walking the dogs along the canal which is accessed about 200m from the hotel. There’s also a good restaurant c.500m which also allows dogs inside; a lot of locals were eating out on the Saturday night, so we were glad to have booked a table at opening time. The bed was very comfortable and the air-conditioning appreciated during the hotel spell in France.

Self check-in was a little difficult (we noticed it for others checking in after us too) and we happened to be lucky to have a member of staff on hand (manned from 5pm onwards). For some reason, the system charged us for 4 dogs and not 2, and the automatic check-in doesn’t allow adjustments. The staff member dealt with that immediately which was very much appreciated.

As usual, a comprehensive range of food on offer. High standard of cleanliness and friendly staff. Listened sympathetically to the issues we had with check in.

Computer on front door check in rejected our booking 6 times. We contacted the on duty employee on phone. Investigated our issue and told me to use my Chrstian name where surname was requested on screen. Blamed booking.com for incorrect entry. Will have to do same thing for return booking on 12th June. Night attendant was surely and unsympathetic. We had 6 couples in lobby behind us all getting aggressive at their delayed check-in. Not a comfortable experience.

Great breakfast, good selection of food on offer as although I am a meat eater my wife is vegetarian and we were both happy with what was on offer. We have visited on several occasions and will continue to visit as we find the hotel very convenient, well sited and perfectly comfortable and well maintained.

The lift door closing voice is annoying! it isn't clear and always sounds as if the audio output is faulty. The out of hours check in is not easy to operate, partly due to its design which hides part of the instructions at the bottom of the screen, the screen settings need to be reset so all information is visible. As I have used it before I am aware of its quirks and can adapt to it, but another guest, on his first visit was confused by this fault. However I was able to help on this occasion as he was in the lobby with us. The gate to the car park ought to be automatic for increased security, allowing entrance but refusing exit without a valid pin number.

The location is excellent as we use Brittany Ferries. It's a good basic hotel which is just what is needed for an overnight stay. The breakfast is plentiful.

We have stayed there several times when we have come from the ferry which arrives at 9.30pm. The only thing we don't like is that the entry process never seems straightforward (reception is not open at that time of night). We are not the only guests who seem to have problems, and we do always manage it in the end, but I worry that one night we won't! :(

Surprisingly spacious, 10 minute drive from the ferry port. Basic and functional for a late arrival overnight stop. Comfortable beds, quiet surroundings and clean. Out of hours sign in to access the hotel is a bit tricky. A couple of elderly customers needed help to get in with the codes and room numbers on their booking confirmation. Why don't you just use a qr code system on phone conformation to activate the door locks?

Prices are a bit toppy at the lobby vending machines. Apart from that, nothing really.

Our previous experience of staying we thought the breakfast was good value. no time to try it again on this visit. Staff were friendly and helpful and there was no noise from other rooms or externally. Very convenient location for the ferry and also shops for food etc. Water was hotted bathroom and shower a reasonable size.

The room was quite large and reasonably lit. would have aappreciated a chair to sit on. Also would have been good in the bathroom if there was a soap dispenser at the wash basin. Leaning into the shower for soap was not ideal. I guess provision of a kettle would up the price.

Breakfast was excellent and great value; overall the hotel is fantastic value for money. Staff very friendly and helpful.

We never received an access code for the front door. It never displayed on the automated self-booking system. We thought we were going to have a problem until I got the confirming email about 10 or 15 minutes later. The vending machine was not dispensing but was taking money, but on the positive side, the hotel staff knew about this and were already dealing with it in the morning and immediately supplied me the bottle of water I had paid for without delay.
