The hotel's proximity to the beach and convenient bus access to Heraklion city center made exploring easy. The rooms are a bit old with small tv, but although showing their age, rooms are impeccably maintained and clean.

The staff was friendly and very kind. I was there for a week long workshop, and due to the timings of the workshop I would have missed the brekfast every morning. When the receptionist realized it, she made sure to make me a healthy and generous breakfast and kept it outside my room every night.

Great pool. Linked to a nice restaurant. The restaurant goes onto a pretty busy street about 100 m from the beach and the hotel is located away from the street so it's quieter and still close to a bunch of great restaurants. The street really came alive at night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were great and included dishes that were hand-prepared which was also a nice touch.

It's clearly a hotel that had higher ambitions when it was first built and has not been renovated or updated for a long time. But that actually gave it great charm as well.

The hotel was in a few minutes walk from Ammoudara beach, you only had to cross the street. if you left the hotel and turned right you were at a bus station and a few all-rounder shops. Really you had everthing you need. The breakfast had a wide range of options. Next to the hotel there was the pool they share with the restaurant. Both was very good and fully met my hopes. The gardens were also beautiful. I can only recommend.

Total value for money, excellent hosts. Nothing was a issue, location was perfect, bus stop 2 mins to city. Plenty of bars & restaurants/ car hire is a must. The beach is a 3 min walk from the hotel, the hotel & restaurant staff were amazing, couldn't do enough. Will definitely stay again..

We spent 10 unforgettable days in an exotic hotel “Violetta”. The hosts are exceptionally hospitable, the breakfast with domestic pies was amazing! The apartment was very clean, the terrace is so nice and the saloon is like from the movies. We will come back to this magical hotel for sure! Special regard to the host and the girl who works at taverna “Pergola”. Viva la Greece - Viva la Serbia!

Actually when i booked the hotel i was not expecting anything wow because it was just for a short stay to attend a wedding in Heraklion. But i was impressed with everything. First the host is so kind and helpful and she did her best to provide everything i needed during my stay and I really appreciated providing for me extra things based on my request for free. The location is good if you come by car, taxi or bus. Nearby you can find a lot of good restaurants, coffee shops, stores, mini markets and a very nice beach. The room was spacious and it has a good view to the garden and swimming pool. The bed was so comfortable for me and the weather was so cool so i didn't use the AC even. i enjoyed discovering the garden nearby and the swimming pool was an added value to the hotel. The Toilet was always clean. Check-in and check-out process was quick and easy. The value of money for what you get is so good.

Location was good. Beach is near and it was fantastic. Bus stop was right next To the hotel so it was easy To go. Good restaurants was near To hotel. Staff at the hotel was very friendly.

The hosts are really nice. The hotel is cosy, good atmosphere, close to the sea with a very good beach area. Close to all kinds of shops, restaurants and the bus stop. Breakfast was great, I loved the pancakes. :) I recommend it to everyone.

Our flight was cancelled at short notice so I booked this on a whim last minute. The owners stayed open to meet us, a lovely friendly welcome after a stressful day. Nice and clean, great location.
