Staff were very friendly 0f what little we saw of them. Room was beautifully clean and very comfortable sleep on the bed, good shower. Lovely location, goats a bonus! Pub was very busy so stayed away as I have a sen child but it did not disturb us in our room which was great. Did not experience the food service as did not eat here due to our plans.

Couldn't get tv working and member of staff was too busy to help (not her fault) I think she had best intentions but the bar was so busy and she was on her own so I wasn't expecting. Didn't matter too much as we had our own devises and the internet worked.

Location was excellent. Car parking ample, staff lovely and helpful-had a flat tyre before setting off and rang to say I would be very late arriving, this just wasnt an issue to them, said they would make arrangements for me to access my room in a late arrival situation. And welcoming when I did eventually arrive! I ate both breakfast and dinner here-food was hot, tasty and excellent choices on the menu. My room was spotless, warm and comfortable-I would DEFINITELY stay again

For me there were not enough teabags but that is in no way a complaint and all I had to do was ask. Other people might prefer more coffee… this has not altered my marks given.

The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. There is a nice garden area to sit outside.

The only thing that spoilt it was the very poor TV reception. We could only watch a couple of channels, all the rest were either unavailable or constantly breaking up. It was very frustrating. We stayed to break up a long car journey from Devon to Scotland so we just wanted to spend the evening relaxing watching TV, but couldn't. This is the only thing that will stop us staying again. If that's sorted out it'll be perfect for our purposes.

Really good location for me as it was close to family. The staff were amazing! I was travelling on my own and said I’d maybe pop down for a drink later and they said they would be happy to introduce me to the locals if I wanted. Very friendly staff and happy to help if I ever needed anything. Having the pub so close by was great as you could just pop over and get a drink and take it back to your room if you liked. I was craving a proper coffee and it was amazing from the pub and I could take it back to my room. The room was clean and easy to control the temperature via the radiator. The shower pressure was incredible and something I wasn’t expecting at all.

Some of the staff in the late evening weren’t as friendly as the daytime staff but I think they were perhaps just busy. No shower gel in the bathroom but a handy little dove soap dispenser by the sink. A little bit loud when the pub shut but that was expected. Also the car park got quite full up with there being live music on.

Visited as this was my husbands local 40 years ago. We had a reunion of old friends there and decided to stay the night. Last time we did this was 30 years ago on our wedding night. The rooms are located outside the pub in a 2storey motel style. The upper floor is accessed by an external staircase. The room was well heated but radiator easily turned up or down to suit personal taste. Beds and bedding extremely comfortable. Friendly staff even though we did slightly outstay our welcome (sorry). All in all a great evening in a lovely local pub and a good nights sleep

There was no shower gel in room and only two tea bags for the morning cuppa

the Red Lion of Parbold is a fantastic location. The quaint little village pub, with a great range of food and beers. The evening entertainment was awesome as well. The rooms are small, but super clean and very comfortable. This is my "Go to" hotel when travelling to the office

There's not a lot to be unhappy about. There's plenty of car parking. The location is easy to find. The food, hotel, staff are the best. There is nothing I could complain about.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was a good size. Space to put your suitcase and hang a few clothes. Extra pillows. Huge bed. Lots of plug sockets and USB points. Space in bathroom to put your toiletries. Managed to get parking, although can imagine it may be limited at times.

Very slippery bath. Bath non slip mat needed. The dining area needed vacuuming….very messy. Noticed it at evening mel and again when down for breakfast.

Hidden gem, clean, modern, food was that nice we order extras, kids loved the bbq chicken wings. Booked family room and a double room but the family room was big enough for us. I would return with the rest of the family and as a date night with my husband. All staff are lovely and had great personalities. Accommodation Reasonable price.

Breakfast- didn’t jump at us, I personally like avocado or egg Bennett, fruit/pancake - if I missed that I do apologise:)

Property was great and so were staff. Room was beautiful and modern

I was in room 2 which was downstairs in an annexe. Unfortunately, it was within 2 metres of tables in the beer garden and people were out there until almost 1am, which kept me asleep. They then went indoors to room 3 and were playing music. It eventually went quiet at around 1.40, when two of them continued their converation right outside my room. I tried, in vain, to contact the desk in the hotel, but I don't think there was one. I tried a general number I found on the web, but no joy there either. I had a 200 mile drive that morning and was not amused.

We have stayed at the Red Lion a couple of times in the past and whilst it’s always been OK, the rooms really needed a good refresh. This time - Wow!! The room has been totally refurbished, fully decorated and all the furniture replaced. New lighting fitted and a full bathroom refurbishment as well. It looked really good and the colour scheme made the room look much bigger. Staff are always very friendly and the breakfast was excellent.

We got back to the RL at about 10.15 on Sunday evening after a function and were hoping for a couple of beers but sadly, the pub was closed. The only other minor gripe is the bedroom window which is “questionable” but maybe they are difficult to replace with the building being very old (possibly listed?).
