The accommodation was very nice. For a 'hotel' room, it was very useful having the cooking area, fridge and dining table. We were very comfortable and the town of Bergues was lovely. We arrived late but we can recommend Pizza City (directly over the road for not only nice pizza, but also for an owner who makes it an interesting experience :-). The breakfast in the morning (a very short walk back to the main hotel) was wonderful and set us up beautifully for the day. Overall - highly recommended.

The toilet door lock was a bit tricky and my daughter got stuck for a little while until we let her out by the emergency override on the outside of the lock :-).

Our stay at Bienvenue Chez Nous was truly memorable. Valerie was a warm and welcoming host, and her husband—also the chef—served an outstanding three-course dinner for just €30. Each course was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, making it one of the best meals of our trip. The guest room was cosy and comfortable, and we especially appreciated the upstairs lounge area available for guests—a lovely spot to relax. Secure bicycle storage in the rear garden was a big plus for us as cyclists. The property is full of charm and perfectly located for exploring Bergues and the surrounding region. 10/10 – Warm hospitality, excellent food, and thoughtful amenities made this a standout stay.

We wish we could have stayed longer!

I hadn't realised, but I had booked an apartment in the centre of the town underneath the famous clock tower rather than in the hotel itself so Valerie came to meet us at the clock tower to give us our keys and show us the apartment, which happens to be in a very famous French film! It was a lovely surprise and our two boys absolutely loved the apartment. It had everything we could've asked for and more especially as we had been planning on a hotel room so we went out into the town and bought dinner to heat up at the apartment instead of eating out (our son has ARFID so eating out is difficult). The town is so cute & the people were incredibly friendly that we wished we had booked more than one night. It was really interesting looking at the photos from the filming and trying to figure out where in town it had been filmed. We had a great nights sleep and went up to the hotel in the morning for a lovely breakfast hosted by Valerie. The Hotel was fabulously decorated for Christmas, which our boys loved (the apartment wasn't decorated). We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back at some point.

Only one small thing, but at night there is a very bright flood light the lights up the clock tower. It didn't affect the bedrooms as they had shutters so thankfully it didn't affect our sleep, but there were no shutters in the living room so we were blinded when walking around the kitchen & sitting in the living room. It was also easy to see in from the road with the lights on too (in my pictures the kitchen is the dark window on the left, but shows the movie poster in the hallway in the lit window in the middle of the 2 dark windows) so it could possibly do with some curtains/blinds/shutters for privacy at night.

Beautiful rooms in a lovely building. Valerie was very helpful (even translated the evening menu for us !) our room on the top floor was very spacious & furnished to a high standard. We even had Port supplied in the room….a very kind touch. The evening meal was wonderful & good value. I’d definitely recommend a stay here.

Although there is a lounge with tea/coffee making facilities we would have liked a kettle & makings in the room - much more convenient if you wake very early & want to stay in your bath robe!

A wonderful stay in a beautiful room. A large comfortable bed, high ceilings and all decorated in shabby chic. There were little extras available; sweet treats, beverages and even a little snifter of Port. We were sad we arrived too late to enjoy an afternoon meal there as the restaurant looked amazing, but Bergues is a friendly place with plenty of choice. A market and live music brought the square alive which was thoroughly enjoyable. We would love to come back to spend a lot longer here!

Very central traditional hotel with a restaurant downstairs. We stayed here twice on our way to and from the channel tunnel. Both rooms were very well appointed and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant one of the nights and it was good. Breakfast is simple but adequate. We easily parked our car on the street close by on both occasions. Bergues is a non touristic pretty village with a pleasant central square and a couple of nice bars and restaurants. Would recommend.

The breakfast is a great mix of French and continental, with fruit and nuts, yoghurt and cereal, pastries and preserves and of course, French cheeses and cut meats - all in a cosy room next to the kitchen. We have stayed here many times and always have our evening meal in the restaurant - simply excellent! All rooms are delightfully decorated in different themes and our dog has been welcome in all! The town's old defence system provides ample space to walk the dog and let him run free.

it's all great - nothing to moan about

Usefully located for the ferry or train if you need an apartment, and everything works well. Steep internal stairs, so not for those with mobility issues, but overall the apartment is comfortable and everything works. Breakfast is good without being outstanding - stanadard continental with a decent number of choices and good quality, but not notable enough that I would see the breakfast itself as a reason to choose here over other places. Overall it is a good option for the area.

Nothing in particular. Communication could have been better, as there is only street parking, but we got no warning that the street in front of the apartment had been torn up for roadworks. We also had to directly ask about breakfast, rather than it being included in instructions. Fairly minor things, as we found street parking very close by, and the owner is responsive, but just easy things to make the process smoother when you've already been travelling all day.

This amazing place is not only a very comfortable hotel but an amazing restaurant. Try the snail starter (comes in a garlic gravy sauce with bread) and beef cheek main. Unfortunately I am English and speak next to no French but conversing was not difficult at all so congratulations to the staff, the owner valerie in particular made the arrival very welcoming which was much appreciated.

N/A. I loved everything.

The apartment is in the belfry tower in the centre of Bergues. The location could not be better, and although it is in the belfry, it is quite sound proofed and therefore you are right in the thick of things but not bothered by noise of the clock or the town centre. Valerie was very welcoming and attentive, and we enjoyed delicious breakfasts. The beds were comfy, and the apartment had everything we needed, including TV with ability to stream through netflix and disney+. We enjoyed the fact that it was the location of the Ch'ti film. Bergues is a sweet little spot, (shame they were digging up all of the square and roads when we were there), it's a short drive from the beach and Bruges is also quite easily accessible. No issue parking in the square in front of the belfry. Handy for eurotunnel - we would definitely return.

My only small complaint is that there was not a comfy sofa for our family of 4. There was a small sofa which was quite hard and not that comfortable which could sit 2, and there was one arm chair which was ok, and a second hard chair. so one person was always sitting on the hard chair, or otherwise we were 3 squashed on the sofa. Otherwise everything was perfect.
