First and foremost the check-in went well and Domenic was very helpful. We asked questions and these were always answered. Our room had a balcony with tables and chairs. It was practically on the lake and was stunningly beautiful. Angelo who also manned the reception area in the mornings was incredibly obliging and when asked would go out of his way and beyond to make sure that when we went anywhere he would help look up confusing ferry etc. timetables and would also phone various places to make sure they were open and still had spaces etc. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Samuele who also worked at the bar and restaurant a few days was also very helpful in many ways and when asked advised us of what weather was doing when travelling by Bernina Express to Switzerland with a local app he has. I don't know the names of other staff members who also were eager to please. Apart from our room being on the lake (so to speak )so the view was magnificent, the room was furnished with lots of drawers, hanging space and shelves. It also had a small fridge and a functioning kettle and complimentary tea sachets. Everything was just right. The bathroom had a shower over the bath and the water was always hot inasmuch as the right temperature hot. Complimentary soap, shower gel, shampoo, shower caps etc were provided. The room was cleaned well everyday. There are honestly no negative points I can think of. The breakfast was also more than adequate and it is taken in the panoramic all-glass extension which overlooks the lake. In the evenings this serves as the restaurant which is also open to the public called La Dolce Vita and the food and service we found excellent. No restaurant in Bellano has this view that we saw anyway.But we did eat at other restaurants there. The hotel is only a max 15 min walk with luggage but about 10 mins without from the station of Bellano where we arrived from Milan. Many trains from different parts of area stop...

There wasn't anything we did not like. Very small point but because of its location we could not see a front door to the hotel when we first arrived and you have to walk down and squeeze past security lever/bar for cars as there is very adequate private parking past this. We had arrived on foot.

This hotel is absolutely amazing!! The staff (Dominic, Angelo and Stefano) were so welcoming, helpful, friendly and kind. The views were staggeringly beautiful and Bellano was an ideal location. We have recommended this hotel to our friends and different groups of people already. It is an absolute gem. The room overlooked the lake and we woke every morning actually looking at the lake from our bed - perfection! The fantastic thing also is the location. If ever you are going to Lake Como consider the east coast as it has a train line all the way so far easier to connect to these places if you don't drive like us. Also Bellano is a mere 4 minutes train journey from the far busier and far more expensive Varenna. It is quiet, peaceful, has great restaurants, supermarkets, ferry terminal and an amazing promenade.

Serene Sea Sounds! Our lovely little terrace balcony right ON the water gave us a gorgeous view of the alps rising above beautiful Lake Como. A breakfast spread awaited us each morning to enjoy in a glassed terrace room replete with statuary in the garden and outside terraced area by the lake. The ferry is a 5-10 min walk from the hotel to take you to points beyond. There is a hot tub nestled beyond an arbor to unwind from a days adventures. The chef offers a cooking class a couple of mornings a week if your study coincides-fun!! The staff treats you like family to help make your stay all you need. Sounds of waves lapping to soothe you to sleep, all led to a very relaxing trip! Thank you Meridiano!

The flags off the balconies are easy to spot your hotel from the water but distracting for our view. We just tucked them in 😉

We had a great stay at the hotel Meridiana. The room was small, but cosy and clean - with an amazing view. The stuf is super friendly and helpful, we felt very welcome. We also enjoyed the Italian cooking class with Adriano - it became one of the highlights of our trip. I would highly recommend taking that course to anyone interested in good food :)

Something happened with the sewerage while we were there. The entrance to the system was quite close to our balcony. So for some time the smell in the room (coming from outside) wasn't the best. However, that was fixed first thing on Monday.

We stayed in a "small" room. It had the most beautiful view of lake como and the alps. Bellano is further away from all the hustle and bustle of como which we loved. Local restaurants were great and the food at the hotel restaurant was to die for! The shrimp pesto with gnocchi was our favorite! Carola was our server at the restaurant and she was so kind and attentive. The housekeeping staff were so friendly as well.

If you miss the exit on the highway for the hotel coming from the north of the lake, there is not another exit for many miles so don't miss the turn!

We loved this boutique hotel. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. So friendly that we chose to eat dinner here 3 out of 4 nights. The views from the restaurant for dinner and breakfast can’t be beat and the food was delicious. Our room had a phenomenal view that I could not find anywhere else at this price point. We were hesitant to stay in Bellano because it is a “small” village, but the train to Varenna was frequent and easy to use. Varenna was also overrun by tourists and Bellano was quiet, peaceful, and had plenty of shopping and dining options. We would absolutely return to Meridiana!

Opting for the king size room on the corner gave us a spectacular situation directly over the lake, and breathtaking views in all directions. This is a sweet, slightly quirky family-run place, ideal for a stay in Como if you feel as we do that small is beautiful and you prefer original to bland. The service is both personal and professional with great attention to detail. Delicious fresh breakfast served buffet style, the open terrace and glorious views made our three mornings unique. The little beach is well managed, swim shoes essential for comfort, the water clear, swimming a joy. Grazie a tutti!

the room has a superb location right on the lake side so the view from the room could not be bettered. The room was a good size with a large comfortable bed, good bathroom and robes were appreciated. Angelo is charming and welcoming

Grumpy reception on arriving (not Angelo) wanted paying for the parking straight away (no idea where he thought I would go) which put us off eating there that night which was a shame as we had dinner on the last night and it was excellent. Breafast was OK but limited choice for hot food (for a British palate) other than a boiled egg

We had an incredible stay at the hotel Meridiana - every single member of staff was very friendly and helpful. special mentions to the waitress (carola?) in the restaurant, samuele for helping us out a lot on our first night when we our arrival time was delayed and to Angelo for his fantastic chat and steering the ship (everybody else - house keeping, other reception team members the morning restaurant staff were all fantastic) An amazing location with great access to the ferries and also to the train (which was minutes from Varenna), short drive from Varenna also where a large multi-storey car park was available - we enjoyed visiting all the famous towns but bellano itself was a much more relaxed affair with some great local amenities. Excellent Ice cream from il gellataio matto, excellent casual pizza/pasta from che pasta. Ristorante la dolce vita in the hotel was also excellent. A very pretty and much less touristy/busy place to be based. Some interesting local sights were also present in bellano most notably the gorge

Having access to hotel parking was great and we were absolutely delighted to make use of this but it should be noted that it is a very tight car park with a steep entry/exit(as I’m sure many private parking facilities in the area will be) cautious entry and exit is required with bigger vehicles

One of the best hotels where I've ever been! We were very impressed by panoramic view from windows (also should mention very good information about hotel, rooms and etc, including pictures), very friendly staff and all the hotel's facilities (especially jacuzzi and own beach). Hotel Meridiana exceeded my expectations and I instantly felt in love with this place. Big thanks to all workers who helped a lot and made us feel like we came to visit our Italian friends. So if you have an opportunity to book a room here don't hesitate and I'm sure your staying gonna be perfect! Will be very happy to return here again!
