I stayed at this hotel for the Wagner festival. It's excellently located, being only 15 mins by foot to the Festspielhaus. The hotel also provides a bus service to the theatre; this was especially helpful for the afternoon performances when it was hot. My room was spacious and clean (I had a junior suite). The food was excellent, everything from the brunch buffet to post-opera dining with plenty of waiting staff who were very helpful and attentive. Id you're in Bayreuth for the Wagner I'd recommend this place 100% and will definitely be staying here again.

Front desk and check-in was a bit haphazard. Not a complaint as such, just that the staff could have been a little bit more on the ball. The bed was old. It was perfectly fine to sleep on but in comparison to other recent hotel stays in Germany I thought it could be better.

The breakfast is superb, catering for every taste. The friendly, courteous staff make sure that the supply doesn’t run out and are very attentive at clearing away used dishes. The ladies who clean the rooms are excellent. They always ensured that the time suited us and gave us a friendly greeting in passing.

Nothing. The hotel is very experienced in looking after the many visitors who come for the Festival and has perfected it over many years. The hotel is pleasantly quiet and comfortable, staff are welcoming and professional and do their best to help guests enjoy their stay.

Easy to walk to from rail station and to the Festspielhaus. Quick access to the river walk and old town. Enjoyed the refreshments available in the lobby before buses left for the opera. Vintage bus available also - a nice touch for those not wishing to walk. Breakfast being available all morning a major plus.

Would have liked outdoor seating option to sit and read (Wagner bench cute photo opportunity but usually in the full sun).

The facilities especially the sauna and gym were an ideal place to relax. The room cleanliness was very well organised and did not interfere with the work schedule.

The time limits for the Sauna and Gym could be improved at least until 11pm noting that when business is done. One gets to the hotel a little bit late and would do with an extra hour in the Sauna to allow the body relax. Instead of 10pm maybe the sauna could extend to 11pm.

The arrangements made by the hotel, e.g. fantastic breakfast, free coffee/tea with sweets and shuttle bus services to the Festival place, are perfect for the visitors of the Bayreuth Festival. The location is also great, within 20 minutes of walking to the Festival place if one chooses to walk. One small and one large shopping malls, as well as a large bus terminal, with many busses in various directions, are also within walking distance. The room has sufficient storage.

The fitness facility was minimal, with just a few cardiovascular machines, with just one for each type. There is no restaurant that is open all the time and no room service. As I exercise daily using weights, I had to search for and go to local fitness stadios.

Way better than what we expected. This is a pretty large complex, 5-10 min walk from center, with good restaurant, bar open until late, friendly and professional staff. Easy check in and check out (no troubles even we were few minutes late). Spacious and safe parking. Hotel is also pet-friendly. Rooms are good size with basic facilities, clean, warm and cozy. Decent, basic breakfast at a fair prize.

We stayed here for the 3rd year for Bayreuth Wagner festival and the hotel are completely geared up to make it special, they lay on long breakfasts/which become brunch, snacks and fizz before the specially arranged transport to the Festspielehaus - all included in the daily rate. And much more. The staff are SO helpful and friendly.

Good parking and easy to reach. The property does so much to help the festival goer - transport to the theatre, light buffet lunch, late dinner service. Excellent breakfast and good bar and restaurant. Ten minute walk into the town.

The property is showing its age in terms of decor. The shower over the bath was poor by modern standards.

Lovely big rooms, spacious lobby, fridge in room (vital for a hot summer), friendly staff.

I really wish hotels would not instruct their staff to whip used breakfast dishes away from under the noses of guests. Can they not wait till we have finished our breakfast? There was no fresh milk. I have never experienced this in a large hotel, though one member of staff informed me that most German hotels only offer H Milch. I haven’t been in one that didn’t - not in 30 years…

Superb breakfast kindly extended to brunch as well as snacks before the concert. very generous with some palatable wine thrown in. Also provided ability to order a dinner after the Opera. Great bus service to the Bayreuth Festspielhaus. Superb airconditioning in the room.

Room a bit basic. Two single beds. Very few toileteries and basic two in one bathgel and shampoo soap.
