The fact that they could make an exception for us to check in earlier ( at 12 as we arrived very early and it was very cold).... And the breakfast 'oh my...'

The parking. They don’t specify that the are two parkings one is free and the other one you pay R60 per day. Breakfast. I wanted hot chocolate they told me I have to pay for it. It was supposed to be included in breakfast because I paid for breakfast. You pay for slice of cake

It's difficult to say because it was out of this world, from the reception, the room service not to forget the chef It's a world class

The room was spacious and the staff were very friendly. The service was excellent.

The only disappointment was the bed was not very comfortable. Usually the hotel beds are very comfortable but on this stay it wasn't .

The room was excellent. It was spacious and comfortable. It was very neat and clean. The meals were the best in Durban - Both my wife and I are vegan and the Chefs went out of their way to accommodate our very tricky meal preferences. As my wife has 4 autoimmune conditions that are very sensitive to the foods that she eats, the meal preparations can be a challenge to even the best Chefs. The Edward Hotel did an amazing job in getting all our meal requests 100% correct - this is an incredible feat - well done to the entire team at The Edward Hotel in Durban. The service was excellent. We will only be staying at your Hotel in the future. Thank you so much.

The location is perfect and close to the beach

If they can at-least add a small fridge in the rooms it will be better

The Prestige, the elegance, the exquisite detail on the walls, the entrance and the immaculate different floors! The heavenly smell/aroma in the foyer and on each floor! We liked the ambiance, the buffet breakfast in the morning, the lambshank and grilled chicken dinner! Surprisingly affordable food menu! Not typical for a classy hotel of this nature! Every staff member is always eager to help, with a vibrant smile, always! The views of the beachfront from our room were to die for! We requested an upgrade to a room with sea views. Handled speedily and professionally, by the people at reception: Andy, Cebo and porter/bellhop Sifiso, among others! The morning reception team was very patient and extremely diligent! Thank you, thank you! We wish we could rewind the entire holiday, and revisit the Edward hotel. We're already planning to go back! Absolutely stonking!

The headboards in the rooms are nice, but too straight up. Sitting up in bed is a bit uncomfortable! Suggestions: A headboard sloping slightly from the bed to the wall, or an addition of continental pillows to lean on in bed. This made me miss my bed at home! Maybe a small couch with one rigid chair!

The Hotel is beautiful good service and friendly staff. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet variety and you are full the whole day. Love the clean fresh smell as you enter the hotel.

The only thing I did not like is that the TV channels limited channels nothing intresting to watch as I was there for 5 days. The TV is not connected to the internet not smart TV. For a 4 star hotel was disappointed was boring on the room due to no intresting channels to watch like get the full dstv package not preselected channels. Really spolt my hotel stay experience and the weather was not nice while there could not spend a lot of time out doors and while indoors bored due to boring channels. Loved the hotel beautiful deco but due to the TV channels part I would think twice to book again if they would have smart TV, Netflix and showmax would return. Even if it means logging in with my personal subscription it's fine. Can also go to YouTube lots of staff watch and music to listen to.

This hotel was fantastic from the moment we arrived. The warm reception from the staff—whether at the front desk or in the restaurant—was exceptional. There was always someone available to assist us immediately, making our stay seamless and enjoyable. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and my husband needed a vase for the roses he had bought. When he asked the concierge, they not only sent up a vase but also surprised us with a bottle of bubbly and chocolates. Walking into that beautiful display was one of the highlights of my day. Since we were in Durban for a function, we sometimes had to call housekeeping very late at night when we returned. Despite the hour, they were incredibly friendly and promptly fulfilled our requests. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, offering a wide variety of hot and cold dishes. We also ordered room service at 9:30 PM, and our food arrived within 15 minutes. We had pizza and some chips—both were perfect. I must include that the view the beachfront was breathtaking. Overall, our experience at this hotel exceeded our expectations, and we truly appreciated the thoughtful gestures and impeccable service.

The decor was fantastic.

The led illuminated cake display, the led can cooler behind the bar detracted from the decor in the dining room. The congregation of the staff at the entrance to the dining area chatting loudly was unnecessary as was the dumpy female staff member who swanned into the dining room waiving a mobile phone and proceeded to help herself to a drink of water behind the bar and then left! The cleaning products for the tables are on display. The used plates, instead of being taken out to the kitchen by waiters are consolidated in a large tub with a great deal of clanking. The fact that a refund wasn’t offered for a room I had booked for a friend that was ill, was harsh! For a 5 star hotel, you have to do better.
