The hotel is charming and the location is excellent. We really liked staying here. There are shops and restaurants right near by, great sites and streets to see right in Avignon, and it is a 10 min walk to the main train station so it is easy to visit other nearby cities. We stayed here to see Avignon and do day trips to Arles, Nimes, and Pont du Gard. The hotel is right in Place de l'Horloge - it's a great location!

There was some noise at night - either from a restaurant below or the street (not sure), but we still slept well. Closing the window closed does block much of the noise. I couldn't figure out how to use the air conditioning, but this is probably a 'me' thing, and I'm sure a staff member could have told me how to use it properly. (We didn't need it, though.)

Staff went over and above to help us. Even though my French is less than wonderful, they understood what I was trying to say, and replied in English or French as appropriate. The location was excellent, and we could walk almost everywhere, including to the central station when we wanted to catch the train back to the TGV station before going to Paris. Breakfast was much better than I expected and the room itself was extremely comfortable.

The lighting in the room was a little dim in the evenings, but was okay in the daytime. No central light. Some kind of hand washing facility in the toilet would've been nice, but by no means essential.

Right in the centre of Avignon and a short walk from the station. Very comfortable indeed with added treat of a library and multiple places you could relax in comfort outside the room. Reasonably priced the breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a restaurant. Multiple types of coffee, loads and loads of fresh fruit and served in a light and airy setting. Every breakfast was a real treat - in fact the whole trip was a real treat. i

The hotel is in an excellent location. Right outside the door is a square, and turning right from the hotel, you can see the Papal Palace. It's also very convenient for shopping and dining. The staff are very friendly, and the hotel is clean and hygienic. Although it's an old building, it's well-maintained with new facilities and excellent quality. The bedding is very good and comfortable. It's a great hotel and highly recommended for stay.

Great Wi-fi. My room had a private terrace with a shower. The location couldn't be much better. It's a short walk from the train station (not the TGV), the papal palace, and several other museums.

Incredibly small room for a double. There was an old fashioned European style bathtub which is difficult to get in and out of and can be difficult to stand in when using the shower. There are no modernized plugs so charging electronics can be challenging.

The location of this hotel is excellent for seeing all of the sights. Everything is within easy walking distance. The breakfasts were excellent with good fresh choices and the staff were attentive. The room was a reasonable size and very traditional for a hotel of its age.

There was only one lift which could get busy at certain times but it wasn’t something which would put us off. The street cleaners come around very early in the morning but that’s the payback for staying in such a central location in a popular tourist spot.

The Hotel is perfectly located in the centre of Avignone, close to the most of historical sites and restaurants. Breakfast is good, and the space devoted to breakfast is nice and clean. Our double room was sufficiently large, with two large windows. Very well the heating in the room and in the bathroom. Finally the hotel is very close (100mt by foot) to the parking mentioned in the hotel description.

The hall of the hotel is very small, not well organized, and some furnitures are old and not adequate for a 4 stars hotel. The room, where we stayed (privilege), has a bathroom divided in two parts; wc is divided by the rest, and it is located in a small cabin. Pillows should be renewed, hard and not uniform, substantially not comfortable.

We stayed two nights, the first night we were given the smallest room in the hotel. The shower was incredibly small and not fit for purpose; we are a slim couple and you could not turn around in the shower with the curtain enveloping you.

As above. When I spoke to reception to say this was not the room booked, they apologised but did not have any other available that night. The receptionist Namon was extremely helpful and sympathetic and upgraded us to a suite for the next night which was delightful.

Hotel de l'Horloge was a wonderful little boutique hotel. Our room was quiet and larger than expected. The bed and pillows were comfortable! The breakfast room was lovely and had delicious baked goods and a good variety of hot and cold options. It was really great! The hotel location was perfect. it was right by the Palace of the Popes. There were many shops and restaurants right outside the door, as well as grocery stores nearby. We had a little fridge in our room to keep snacks and drinks cold. We were close to many attractions, pick up points for excursions, buses and the train station. We would stay here again!

The room was not very bright, but we were out most of the day, so it didn't really bother us.

We had the good fortune to visit at Christmas time when Avignon puts on a magical display of seasonal decorations. The hotel was equally festive, with a couple a beautifully decorated trees in the foyer. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was roomy and had all the facilities you expect form a good hotel. Our room also access to a private patio overlooking the Popes Palace - stunning. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean and very quiet. The breakfast room was well appointed and offered a full array of options, from eggs/omelettes to cereals and croissants. No complaints at all - would not hesitate to recommend
