I loved absolutely everything. This will now be my base whenever I go to the Lakes. The location is stunning, couldn't get enough of the views from my window and everywhere around. The room was a very good size, comfortable, very clean. Staff very friendly but professional. Lovely breakfast with cooked items buffet and some pastries, fruit, cereal and yogurts. Generally lovely facilities, especially the lounge with the fireplace.

Everything about my stay was fantastic. This hotel runs like clock-work. It was spotlessly clean and maintained. The staff were friendly and highly organised. Food was fine - every night at dinner a different menu, breakfast a super buffet with hot and cold options. The location was ideal for hiking with Dale Head at the back of the hotel, and Glaramara in front. What I liked about my holiday was that there was no need to drive anywhere. My room was at the front with a lovely mountain view. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well. I had my companion lurcher with me. He had a great time with some lovely walks in the area, for example to Seathwaite or on the CTC. In all, ten out ten, no question.
Nothing.

Absolutely stunning location with views of the lakes mountains all around. Large range of walking routes starting right at the hotel. Packed lunches were available to order to take out on hikes so well geared up for lakes visitors. Great breakfast with friendly staff that were always willing to help. Dinners were unusual - only one sitting at 7.30pm but it meant you got to know other guests in the hotel, with coffee in front the fire after giving you opportunity to get to know some of the other guests too. The room felt like it had been recently renovated and the bathroom was modern with an excellent large overhead shower.
It was overall an excellent stay. I hadn't realised about the one sitting dinner before my arrival (probably hadn't read the booking details well!). I think the dinner menu might need a little more thought, particularly desserts.

The Hotel was perfectly situated for the hikes we wanted to do. The staff were lovely and helpful, the rooms are very nicely presented with comfy beds and great pillows ( pillows are a thing for me. I take mine with me whenever we travel by car. But it stayed in the car 👍) great bathrooms with great showers. Good lighting in the rooms with plenty sockets and usb points all in the right places. The food was amazing. Breakfast was good and the 3 course evening meal was soooooooo good ( I don’t say that very often )
The bed room was too hot overnight. (I just opened the window and was ok.) The toilets near reception were really cold.

Just want to say we have come back from a first-class stay at the Glaramara Hotel, all made even better by the exceptional service received from the staff. I would especially like to thank Sharon and Andrea on reception, who were incredibly helpful throughout our stay, assisting with our booking and dinner reservations and always offering a warm, friendly welcome. Their attention to detail and genuine care made such a difference and helped make our stay truly memorable. We can’t wait to return!
that we didn't stay longer!

Stayed here after my initial hotel cancelled, so not the area I was intending, however the staff at the Glaramara were friendly & accommodating. Room (with a dog) was lovely, with bed, towel & bowl for the dog being provided. Food was excellent and very well cooked, if you choose to eat with your dog you are restricted to the bar which is explained so I was ready for that and not unexpected. Parking available on first come, first served basis but did manage to find somewhere during my stay. Fantastic scenery but limited on places to visit in the evening if you didn't want to drive / catch a bus.
As a single traveller with a dog I am used to having to be in a restricted area and have no issue with that, however the bar area is small and only 2 tables so you are very conspicuous when eating there, would be nice if you were able to eat in the conservatory perhaps. There is also only 1 sitting time in the evening 19:30 (which you have to pre-order for) so you are clock-watching while out to ensure you make it back in time, as there are limited to no other options to eat in the evening if you don't want to drive or get a bus back towards Keswick - not a deal breaker, but different to what I am used to.

Beautiful and peaceful location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were exceptionally good. Evening meals were expertly prepared. The hotel generally is tastefully furnished and is kept clean and in good condition. It appears to be have been recently refurbished to a high standard. It caters well for walkers
The evening meal, while of good quality, seemed a bit pricey. ‘Piped’ music at breakfast. We probably got the last room available as it was a bit small and at the back of the building. Rooms at the front are probably the nicest.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The location is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of the mountains that create a peaceful and serene atmosphere. Breakfast—delicious and fresh. The staff truly made the stay even better, as they were consistently polite, friendly, and always willing to assist. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a memorable and relaxing getaway.

Friendly helpful staff. Well organised. Clean hotel. Nice white sheets and white towels. Great choice of cooked and continental breakfast. . Evening meal available. Lovely view from room. I was offered an upgrade to a larger room for $30 on arrival after booking a Single. As I was only staying one night and would be out of the hotel for most of the time I declined the offer but it was nice to be offered.
The en suite shower cubicle in the very small single room was suitable for a petite person only. A grown man might struggle especially if muscular. Or the larger lady. The mattress on the single bed was hard. It wouldn't put me off going to stay again to this lovely hotel but I would book a double room.

Location - It is about 10minutes away from Keswick and 50minutes drive from Windermere by car. I would highly recommend the location, it's stunning and nice to have a break away from the tourists and the busy towns. Food - Highly recommend the breakfast, it is a buffet fry up and pastries but they provide plenty of additional options for Veggie's and Gluten Free's. Table service was a nice touch with freshly brewed tea/coffee and toast provided on request. We also choose to have dinner here, two course set menu, thoroughly recommend based on the quality of the food and service. There are also no other eateries in walking distance, so you would need to drive somewhere if you didn't choose to eat here. Facilities - Very homely, two lounges, one with a fireplace in. Both at the front of the building and provide brilliant views. Room - Bathroom was very modern, superb rainfall shower and a heated towel rail. Comfy mattress and pillows. The basic room was big enough to accommodate us, our luggage and for our dog to sleep in. I would recommend asking to be at the front of the property so you can wake up to the views. Dog friendly - Very dog friendly, a dog bed is provided, towel and water bowl. We had the option of leaving our dog in our room if we ate in the dinning room or we could bring him with us and eat at the bar. Lots of walks nearby too.
