Great location for the Piece Hall and the free parking was a bonus. Our room was lovely and clean and comfortable and the bathroom was massive! The staff were all helpful and friendly. The breakfast was plentiful and replenished constantly.

It didn’t seem like enough staff were on duty. When we arrived there was one staff member checking people in, fetching irons, running the bar, answering the phone, the poor guy was rushed off his feet. When we returned to the hotel in the evening there was no-one on reception at all and a fellow guest who had locked themselves out of their room couldn’t contact anyone on the ‘out of hours’ number. That said a business that offers a value hotel has to find the cost savings somewhere I guess.

Location was exellent only 5 minutes from Halifax Train Station. Staff were very happy and chatty. Kitchen staff were very good cleaning and wiping tables regularly after use. Good Breakfast in the morning which is a welcome bonus. A Short walk to the center of Halifax. Check in was very fast and a smooth process. The Hotel building was kept clean on a regular basis we had our doubts when we booked reading over peoples comments but we think some of the other negative comments dont give a true picture of this hotel. We would definately book here again when we return to Halifax. Room had kettle, TV, WI FI, Raditor, Wardrobe and desk.

No slipmats provided in the bathrooms for shower use.

The staff were all really helpful and polite and really listened to us and paid attention we were visiting for a wedding and they asked us the day after how our day had gone and seemed really interested to hear our replies not just obligatory politeness

The hotel is starting to look its age needs some modernisation especially in the communal spaces and the bedrooms but none of it was dirty and that can be held as a credit to the staff

Free parking- just register your car at Reception desk. Good sized bedroom, simply/nicely furnished. Very nice buffet-style breakfast included in the price. Only 5+ min walk into town. Wetherspoons and other eateries 5+ min walk from hotel.

A slightly steep incline-walk into town. No chairs (or small table) in our room to watch TV. Hairdryer was in the middle of the wall, no mirror nearby it. In fact, no mirror at all in the bedroom. No plug sockets at either side of the bed...We had to use 3-metre phone-charge cables from opposite side of room to charge our phones, a bit dangerous stepping across in the night. Good and bad: Halifax Minster nearby... nice to visit ...but very noisy bell-ringing at 8-8.45pm on a Friday night.

The single room was very pleasant, spacious and well equipped. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom a good size. I will be returning there again this week and have asked for the same room. As I don't require breakfast the room rate was slightly discounted accordingly, which I greatly appreciate as I am having to self fund my accomodation for work purposes.

Large room and big shower cubicle. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The window looked out onto the street so it would have helped to have a net curtain or blind as well as the curtains. The room was quite dark and I would have liked to have opened the curtains but there was no privacy. The dressing table was a nice touch but it could have done with a light above the mirror so you could see what you were doing.

Room well proportioned with sizeable bathroom with jacuzzi (not used). Breakfast was great, even with having to cope with non-self-service on our first morning. Debbie, the member of staff hosting us, was outstanding.

Slight decline of fruit choice for breakfast (but only slight). Perhaps one more bedlamp (double room) would have saved the hotel money by our not needing all the lights on. These are minor and did not detract from our enjoyment.

Good room on corner so had 2 windows & was lovely & clean & bright. Adequate bathroom. Good breakfast. Pleasant staff

Evening meal was average. Not much choice of wine but bar was well stocked.

The ladies at breakfast were very professional friendly and smiling daily. Looked after us very well. Be good to have a vending machine for juice water. Will definitely be back. Very central and free parking which is great. Thanks for having us
