Just a short walk away from all the important places of interest in Bayeux, including the local train staton, is Aggarthi Bed and Breakfast. The buildings and gardens are quiet and tranquil with real local character. The room was clean and comfortable with excellent wi-fi. However, I must reserve special thanks to our wonderful hostess, Jenna, who on our arrival presented us with a map of the town, explaining our location and how to get to the local museums and restaurants. She also told us about events that were happening locally in town during our stay. Jenna's hospitality is second to none and therefore breakfast every morning was a joy as we walked in to coffee, juices, cheese, ham and range of pastries. The scrambled eggs, made from the eggs laid by the hens on the grounds, were delicious. When we told her that we would be unable to make breakfast on our final day as we had an early train to catch, she presented us with coffees and croissants to take to the station. Jenna and her little dog made us smile everyday.

They have thought of all details and I appreciate that as a details person. So kind, thoughtful and hospitable...it is really in my top few experiences over our 3 1/2 week trip. Charming walkable village...I'll be missing Bayeux and looking forward to my next visit.
That we didn't get to stay longer...was a perfect location and one can easily walk to everything. If i HAD to come up with one constructive feedback perhaps consider adding a corner shelf in shower stall for guests to set their toiletries on while they bathe rather than reaching all the way to floor of shower...but that is only if I had to come up with something because they have thought of everything. A quaint, and lovely space in a charming French countryside village.

We can't heap enough praise on this lovely B&B and its gracious and vivacious propriétaire Jana (spelling may be off). The garden and its attendant dogs, cats, chickens, geese and rabbits are an oasis, especially so in the fragrant spring with wisteria and other flora in full bloom. The breakfast was magnificent, with a full panoply of coffee, juice (local apple/pear), pastries, yogurt, cheese, cold cuts, and eggs from the property's resident hens, all laid out at a delightful long table (the better for socializing with other guests) in the charming dining room. Add to that the ideal location minutes by foot from the train station, museums, eateries and other sights of the best preserved medieval town in Normandy and it could hardly be better.
Can't think of a thing from our perspective, but although essential amenities have been upgraded the buildings themselves are old (we were in the "new" 19th century building), and the stairway a bit steep, so if you don't like that sort of thing, try somewhere else.

We loved the estate atmosphere and amazing gardens. The rooms were clean, bright and comfortable. The host made our breakfast to order and even gave us ideas on how to extend our stay by stopping at Giverny on our way back to Paris. She overhead lifted our 2 carryons both up & down the spiral staircase to our room. We had the place to ourselves since it was early in the season. Our room included a rustic, quaint small shared kitchen with fridge. Our host made fresh scrambled eggs with eggs from her chickens and made to order our coffees. Everything was delicious!
The spiral staircase was a little daunting. Someone with limited mobility or very tall could have issues climbing stairs. A few cats & dogs were on the property so it may be an issue for those with allergies and I did not see it posted on the description.

The location is outstanding! VERY close to the heart of old Bayeux. It was an easy and enjoyable walk to all the restaurants and shops. The property is magical: relaxing, friendly and peaceful garden setting. Our host was so helpful, welcoming and service oriented. A beautiful respite from the outside world. The beautiful garden, house pets and chicken coop made the property feel like home. The breakfasts were outstanding!! Fresh, fresh, fresh bread, bakery and typical French breakfast fare. Delicious!
There is nothing we didn’t like.

Aggarthi Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful place to stay. Our room and bed were very comfortable. Diane, our host, is amazing. Diane made sure we were well taken care of. She prepares a great breakfast each morning and introduces the other guests at breakfast. It was nice talking to the other guests and their experiences in the Normandie area. As a plus, we enjoyed Picasso, Diane’s rescue dog! We enjoyed our stay, and if ever back in Bayeux, will stay again!
Can’t think of anything!

The property is well located and just a block from the Bayeux Tapestry and two blocks from the town center. The location has a beautiful courtyard with flowers and places to relax kept up by the owner. And there is parking available too. The breakfasts were pleasant affairs each morning with pastry, bread, eggs, and more. There was even strawberry rhubarb jam: a personal favorite. Truly on of the best B&B’s that I have ever stayed at
I’m at a loss to find a response for this: everything met standards

It was a very nice and centrally located area of Bayeux... super easy to get around to anywhere we wanted to go.... a very secure place to stay as well. Breakfast provided was fantastic and the vibe felt very home as the host made it feel that way. I love that the courtyard gave of a very 14th Century vibe and it made you feel as though you were participating in a past time.
the only thing I would suggest is the garden areas... I know that Europe is going through some sort of "let things go wild for the Bees" thing ... however, it was a bit hard to envision them looking like the website portrayed.

The breakfast was outstanding. Very fresh and good with all you could wish for. The host made fresh scrambled eggs on request. Fresh bakery products every day, fresh ham, fresh fruit, cereals, cheese and different spreads/jam, youghurt, juice, coffe, tea, hot chocolate etc. etc. The breakfast was around the large dining room table so we met a couple of nice famillies from the USA and UK. The host was really nice and very helpful with advice on visits in Bayeux and in the greater Normandy area. She also had cold water, juice, beer and cidre available in a common kitchen place around the clock.

Excellent property right in the midst of Bayeux with a very short walk to the Bayeux Tapestry Museum and Cathedral area. Very family oriented bed and breakfast stay where you’ll experience the true surroundings of the neighborhood and the gracious host is very knowledgeable about the history, architecture and restaurants in Bayeux and Normandy. Very good and easy parking but secure as well. Make sure you go to see the cathedral light show at night!
Nothing, it was all great!
