loved the property. the pool is small with two chairs, but it’s still quite lovely! the balconies are very nice. especially with breakfast delivered to you! the staff is very nice and helpful!

Even though I booked far in advance, they overbooked themselves using both Airbnb and booking.com. so they had to move me to another location (nicks pension). this property was fine, but I preferred nicks Homestay. also, when you’re only staying somewhere for two nights, it makes it really less relaxing to have to move both nights, as I wasn’t able to stay at nicks pensions for two nights. they moved me back to nicks Homestay my second night. lastly, I gave them my laundry to do, and they told me it would be done by 9 am the next morning, but it wasn’t done until after 12:00. maybe do your laundry yourself up the street from nicks Homestay, or wait until you’re at your next destination.

Perfect location - in busy street close to Monkey Forest yet very quite and retains a traditional ambience. Rooms are old but big and clean. Breakfast offered is only Jaffles, Toast or Pan cake with fruit bowl - filling but repetitive. Staff are friendly and helped in arranging taxi tours etc. Opposite to the property are several restaurants including Indian cuisine and vegan options. Highly recommended for family travellers.

for me it was very cruel to see their collection of exotic birds in the cages scattered around the place. we all experience what is like to live in lock down and I find it a useless cruelty to take freedom away from an animal that is the embodiment itself of freedom- and keep it trapped in a cage. also at 6 am in the morning it was impossible to sleep cause they were making a lot of noise at sunrise. it’s a pity because the place it’s stunning and the staff is so nice too. please free the birds!!

The place make you feel at home. Breakfast was ok Good location. Close to monkey forest and Ubud palace. Staff were friendly. Big bedroom and comfy mattress. Tea and coffee in the bedroom.

There was a very very strong smell of the mothballs in the room. It made me feel sick . When we got there the staff couldn’t find our booking but after a phone call to his boss he checked us in.

We loved how deeply cultural the whole complex was. The intricate carvings and history were stunning. The pool was right outside our rooms so we could access a quick dip at anytime. They have a fridge filled with drinks to purchase which was handy for our new favs, lemon Bintangs. The Homestay is back from the busy roadside so our stay was very peaceful even though the street and shop fronts were bustling and loud with traffic. A great experience and eye opener for our family. Would definitely recommend Nick's Homestay to other travellers.

- Pool towels were lacking and that's about it really. - Maybe the wildlife if your not keen on roosters crowing, birds chirping into the night, lizards scurrying and the odd monkey cruising along the rooftops to get at the neighbours banana tree. Note: just like in car mirrors...monkeys do appear much larger when face to face in real life lol

We loved our stay at Nick's so much we extended it. It's a beautiful peaceful oasis in the heart of busy Ubud. The rooms are huge, the bed is very comfortable and there's a spacious balcony which overlooks the beautiful gardens. Not a massive choice for breakfast but what there is is very tasty and can be enjoyed on your balcony or in the common areas. The staff are super friendly and helpful - we booked a tour and transfer with them which were spot on. It is on one of Ubud's busiest streets but set back so you can't hear the road. It's a three minute walk to the large supermarket where many of the minibuses drop off and you can walk to Monkey Forest in about 10 minutes. I throughly recommend booking a stay at Nick's - it's a lovely place.

Only tiny improvement would be a fridge in the room. Think I saw them in other rooms so maybe we just booked one without, although I didn't see a different option. That's very minor though - it really was fabulous.

The surroundings in the hotel area are super nice. Hotel is easy to find though if you have super heavy luggage not so ideal since there is a narrow alley from the road to the hotel. There are many restaurants, cafes and shops nearby. Breakfast is brought to your room. Free water. There is a small pool you can dip in. Room is nice, and quite big. There is AC and curtains for mosquitoes. Nice balcony.

No hook near the shower for your towel. I had some issue with small ants but they vanished after I told the staff. No fridge.

Perfect location, everything in walking distance. Lovely gardens around the rooms. Comfortable, spacious room and balcony. Great value for money. The breakfast was small but nice, and it was a nice touch that the staff would bring the breakfast to your room in the mornings. The staff were very nice and hospitable.

We found a McDonald’s bag in the freezer, possibly from the last guest, which means that this wasn’t cleaned for us arriving. Not a major issue for us but can imagine this would irritate other guests. On our second morning our breakfast dishes were still in our room when we arrived back at 6pm. We did not have a tray otherwise we would have brought this down to reception ourselves. I’m not sure if the rooms are meant to be cleaned daily so I can’t really comment on this but we had no problems other than the breakfast dishes.

I actually don’t have the words to describe how absolutely beautiful and peaceful Nicks Homestay is. Beyond the beautiful property, comfy beds, amazing pool, and AWESOME STAFF… really the pictures can’t capture the beauty of this place. Kenyat made this homestay home. Good people, good vibes.

NOTHING. There is absolutely nothing I don’t like about this homestay. Clean, beautiful, and relaxing. The homestay staff are just amazing! Kenyat has you covered. Whether it be the types of birds in the homestay or the details of the properties history or what’s the best thing to do today! The driver he will find will be top notch!

During our four-day stay at Nick's Homestay in Ubud, we truly felt like part of the Balinese family. The tranquil surroundings and the traditional family compound made our experience unique and deeply connected to the local culture. Every morning, we enjoyed a delicious complimentary breakfast on our shady terrace, surrounded by a lush garden that was both relaxing and beautiful. The proximity to attractions like the Monkey Forest and Ubud Market allowed us to easily explore the area, making our stay both comfortable and memorable.
