From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everything about our stay was perfect. I brought my mum—an absolute Home and Away fanatic—and we stayed in the ground level room with an ensuite. It was spotless and comfortable. Rudi and Avalon are the kindest, most thoughtful hosts. They gave us fantastic tips on filming locations and the best local spots to eat. After our day out, we returned to find the heater on and the lounge room set up for Mum to watch her favourite show—such a thoughtful touch! Breakfast was a real treat—don’t leave without trying Avalon’s homemade granola, it’s a standout! Watching Rudi feed the birds was a highlight, and we were lucky enough to have kookaburras perched on our hands. The tropical gardens added a peaceful, relaxing vibe to the whole experience. I honestly can’t recommend this bed and breakfast highly enough. The space is beautiful, the atmosphere is calming, and the hosts are truly incredible people. A memorable and heartwarming stay!

Very clean and comfortable accommodation with friendly and personable hosts Rudi & Avalon. Very good continental breakfast with plenty of choice including Avalon's own homemade granola mix which was delicious with the natural yoghurt and very good quality specialty breads for toasting and enjoying with a range of toppings. Avalon has thought of everything required in a bathroom including shampoo, conditioner, body cream, makeup remover wipes, hairdryer and good quality towels. The shower was excellent and didn't leak and although the basin is small, it does the job nicely. Natty cane table with tuck-away chairs in the room and also in the breakfast room which don't take up too much space. A lush, tropical garden with the added delightful bonus of a visit from wild but extremely tame kookaburras, rainbow lorikeets and sulphur-crested cockatoos that Rudi fed during breakfast providing quite an amazing show! Rudi & Avalon are very hands-on hosts serving breakfast and providing local information and interesting conversation. For us, a much more enjoyable experience staying at a traditional-style bed and breakfast than an impersonal Airbnb!

Slight mustiness inside due to the humidity of the climate, however, it HAD been raining for about 3 weeks straight so that probably accounted for it, particularly as the house was spotless and clearly very well cared for. Perhaps some diffusers placed around could assist with this.

Located at the top of the ridge above Palm Beach (a few minute drive away) with views over Pittwater and the Ocean, tall trees, abundant bird life and Rudi's collection of red vintage vehicles, our stay here was a real treat. Rudi had amazing stories to tell of his adventures all over the world and Avalon provided a delicious breakfast. There was room in the fridge for our perishables (this was part of an extended self-catered trip for us). And the presence of the kookaburras, cockatoos and lorikeets just outside the window during breakfast was astonishing. This is what a true B&B experience should be about!

Nothing - it was great.

We stayed in Avalon and Rudi's B&B for a family wedding: two brothers plus partners and children as well as parents. We were accommodated well with lovely bedrooms (four with bathrooms - the couple with the school aged children shared the one bathroom). The house is spacious and comfortable. A delicious continental breakfast is provided and access to the kitchen (but not cooking facilities) as well as tea/coffee was very handy. Great location in Palm Beach with a nice walk down to Pittwater through bushland right next to the house. A plus was the room upstairs with two massage chairs! A very pleasurable stay. Thanks!

-Lovely hosts Rudi and Avalon are really looking after their guests. They are welcoming and charming. We also got a lift to a wedding which was greatly appreciated. -Big house in good location The house is very clean and located in quiet surroundings with ocean glimpses. Great balconies too.

We stayed for 2 nights and would have loved a TV and Bar fridge in our bedroom. Please no offence, but I also felt a bit awkward being in someone else’s house! I guess I’m too old to go down the stairs at 2 am, trying to retrieve our food and drinks…!

Avalon & Rudi are the perfect hosts creating a home away from home but much better! We were given a larger room & an extra room as I was travelling with my 22yr old son so he could have his own space. The breakfasts are wonderful, lots of options, fresh fruits, homemade muesli, various yoghurts, and milks. The bedrooms & bathroom were super comfortable with every detail taken care of. We particularly loved the balcony to sit read & chat. The menagerie of wild & colourful birds being fed by Rudi at breakfast time is magical!

Everything was perfect.

Rudy and Avalon were the perfect hosts. The room was spotless and comfortable, and the balcony was the perfect spot to relax and gaze at the calm blue ocean yonder. The deluxe continental breakfast put on by Avalon was absolutely flawless, delicious and it set us up for the day of walking around the local area and exploring. We even got a bird feeding show from Rudy while we were having breakfast, we saw the giant cockatoos and kookaburras, and the tenacious and charming lorakeets, as well as the brightly coloured king parrots, all having breakfast with us together. Thank you guys for making our Good Friday stay something really special!

Nothing. What's not to like! :)

Avalon and Rudi are the most generous and welcoming couple we have ever imagined. They make us feel at home, and listening to their stories and experiences is a pleasure. We especially loved the atmosphere at breakfast; there was a great connection with the other guests, and Avalon paid lovely attention to every detail. Rudi and his bird friends are spectacular! They lived in a beautiful, calm, relaxing spot up the hill, completely immersed in a memorabilia atmosphere. We traveled by bus, and they were so kind to give us a ride to the restaurant and rescue us from the rain. All perfect. Thank you!

The breakfast was very carefully attended to by Avalon and Rudi ,we all got a delicious little bowl of fruit salad freshly made by them with seasonal fruits to start. There was also a great selection of cereals and breads for us to enjoy. While we had breakfast Rudi fed the birds for us on the patio what a spectacle that was ! The location was leafy and quiet and not far to go for anything you might want.

Nothing it couldn't have been better !

Very friendly and helpful owners, comfortable beds and excellent breakfast in this private home. Enjoyed seeing the Kookaburras and other birds being hand fed whilst having breakfast. Enjoyed the experience and don't let my negative comments put one off trying if wanting to stay in Palm Beach, weather not good when we were there and we aren't beach fans.

Not able to give full marks as there wasn't much of interest for us locally, also the accommodation a little pricey compared to other places we had been staying in round Australia but we still enjoyed our visit.
