Considering this was one of the cheapest hotels in the region, we were very surprised. Everything was really nice and modern. Nothing was dirty. We had a really small room but it served us right for one night. The receptionists were kind and helpful. We really liked the breakfast as well. It had everything we wanted and everything was fresh and good. There is a castle just above the hotel, about 15 minutes of walk. I highly recommend this place.

It’s a little too far from the city center, at the edge. There is no free parking option - you either park at the street (lots of space) but for a fee from 9AM - 7PM. There are a few parking spaces behind the hotel but for 7€. We sadly had a rather small bad (140cm I think), but we could live with that for one night. We also had no fridge in our room - also not a huge problem. I still highly recommend this place.

Very easy to find. Spectacular mountain views and peaceful moments on the hotel’s terrace. The room was perfectly fine and comfortable. The lady at reception was new, but incredibly helpful — she went above and beyond to assist everyone in line, and truly supported us throughout our stay. Best of luck to her! The local beer (Weißbier) served at the hotel was the best I’ve ever had. Amazing breakfast with a great variety. Free bikes available for guests. Only a 10-minute drive to visit the nearby bridge — definitely worth seeing.

The free bikes were too big for me, so I couldn’t use them.

Very friendly staff with big smiles, super clean rooms and bathrooms. Delicious breakfast made of always fresh ingredients and vast verity to choose from. I am so glad I picked the place out of many. I stayed there for one week at the end of November 2024, hiking the surrounding mountains every day. The staff is above expectations! They are very kind and helpfull both in the reception and phone. They made also every extra effort to help me out in a complicated situation. You can really count on them, that they are happy to take that extra effort to give excelent service. Hope their boss reads it as well ;) 👏🏻👌🏼

Though the rooms are clean and cozy, they lack some basic equipment like a kettle to boil water and two glasses and 2 chairs instead of one in a double room. As it is a hostel actually if they would have a common kitchen that would solve this. But once again thanks to the staff they compensate what they can, they were happy to give as hot water etc for an evening tea, you just need to get down to reception and ask.

I loved the room and the beautiful views that came with it! The staff was lovely from the beginning and was super friendly. Made us feel super welcome! Our room came with a private bathroom which was very convenient.

Personally, I would have loved a 24h access to hot water (Kettle) myself or a microwave as we stayed in the hostel for 7 days and it would have been just a bit more convenient. A bit more variety in breakfast would have also been nice, but otherwise, everything else was amazing!

Good shared room with 2 bathrooms, hairdryer towel given and secure locker, friendly staff, great view. They spoke English, and were very helpful with what's on in the city. Also great breakfast included

Checking in was hard as I arrived at 1am the machine lost connection and I couldn't figure out my room. The phone to ring the help didn't seem to work well so I had to use my own phone to ring but they were helpful. The location is a 35 minutes walk from HBF but about a 20 minute tram

The hostel’s location was very convenient, about 20 minutes from the city center and just a 2-minute walk to the tram station, making it easy to get around. It's also close to Ambras Castle, which was a bonus! The bedroom was comfortable enough for a one-night stay, and the breakfast was excellent – they offered a nice selection of fruits, vegetables, and coffee, with options for everyone. I did notice that the cleaning staff were friendlier than the receptionists, which was a bit surprising. View through the window was stunning!

The reception staff could be a bit kinder, and the reception hours were somewhat inconvenient for many travelers. Be prepared for a break in service at the reception and luggage room, which can be challenging if you arrive during the pause.

The Marmota Hostel is a convenient option for a short stay in Innsbruck. The location is good, with easy access to the city center—just a 3-minute walk to the tram stop (tickets cost €3) or a €15 taxi ride. The room was basic but sufficient, as expected for a hostel, and we appreciated having a private bathroom, which was clean and functional throughout our stay. The breakfast was simple but enough to start the day. Overall, it’s a decent choice if you’re looking for affordable accommodation with good transport connections to the city center.

The room was clean, quiet, basic but nice. Good size. Location was quiet, short and inexpensive tram ride to the city. Our bathroom was not inside the room but private, very clean and just in front of our room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.

The bed was not extremely comfortable. Pillows - the most basic. The bed was squeaky every time the other person moves even a little bit. No shutters. I guess I didn't stay in many hostels, so not sure if the expectations were wrong.

Location: perfect for us coming from Germany, on our way to Italy (Venice) , to break the trip in two . We stayed one night. The breakfast (a buffet) was very good, with a large choice of fresh and tasty foods and drinks. Everything very clean and attractively presented. In the evening, we went into the town center by bus ( about 30 minutes away). It was easy (6€ return per person), the bus stop is about 200-300 metres from the hotel. We parked the car outside the hotel for the night (without charge) and left before the paying time started the next morning (9.a.m.). The internet was good. We would definitely stay at the Marmota hostel again if we came this way in the future.

It's quite compact, there isn't much space, but everything was nice and clean. Be aware that if you are on the 3rd floor like we were, there is no lift, so you need to be fit enough to carry your luggage. The bar closes rather early - we couldn't get a drink after 10 p.m.
