Breakfast was not something that excepional in variety, but what it offered was delicious, fresh and cooked amazingly well. Definitely will come back next year.

The couch on the room 601 nees to be replaced. I hit myself when I sat because there was a piece of metal wrapped inside the pillows. Please change it , someone will get hurt.

Pros: (1) Perfect central location, (2) Very friendly staff ready to assist, (3) 24 hr reception, (4) comfortable room with good space, (5) Very quiet despite the central location, (6) very good cleanliness, (7) very good lights both in the room and the bathroom, (8) well equipped room, (9) warm room despite the low temperature outside, however we had to ask the reception for switching-on the heating. We did not try the breakfast so cannot comment.

Cons: (1) Slight bad smell coming from the bathroom - that's the main reason for the lower score, (2) small elevator - during peak hours we had to wait a bit or take the stairs, (3) there was not a shower shelf to place you own shampoo or gel while taking your shower.

Room was a great size that could easily store 2 large luggage bags. Shower was clean, with good water pressure. Room was cleaned Daily and tv a good size. Location was excellent, walking distance to supermarket, restaurants and coffee. In a quiet street with no external noise heard in the rooms.

A simple buffet breakfast was provided in the cafe next door to the hostel. Got food poisoning from cold meats on day 2 of stay. Not fun. Rooms have lots of nice windows, however let in a lot of light. Not great if your sensitive to waking up to light in the early morning.

The location of the hotel is very centric and you can walk anywhere. The room was quite spacious for the price, and it was very clean. The AC in the room was working well, and overall everything looked new, modern and well kept. There was a functional mini fridge and a safe. The shower was working well and the water pressure was excellent. The check-in was easy and done online before arriving. We could leave our luggage in the hotel before checking in and after checking out. There are big supermarkets and restaurants nearby, and also the Sol metro station is 5-10 min away, with 3 metro lines leading basically anywhere. Overall, I am very satisfied with the stay and I would gladly stay there again.

The room lacked some things we like to have in a room, like a trash can(there was just a small one in the bathroom) and towel hangers next to the sink. The bed was too soft for our liking, but we do prefer very hard beds. When the AC wasn't working, there was a bit of a humid smell in the room, so we just left the AC on at all times when we were in the room. The noise at night was noticeable, and we couldn't sleep with our window open. The shower gel in the bathroom wasn't the best. These are all just minor inconveniences for us, but otherwise we were very happy with our stay

The soundproofing is not great; i could hear almost everything in the next room. However, with earplugs it was fine.

The room was lovely and spacious for the 3 of us, and our daughter had her own private space. The views from both windows were lovely being a corner room. The breakfast in the cafe downstairs was great, and the staff very accommodating. The hostal is very conveniently situated between 2 metro stations, both about 500m or less away, and within easy walking distance to the Royal palace, plaza de Mayor, Prada Museum and shopping presinct There is a supermarket just around the corner.

Not a dislike, but just a suggestion.The room was big enough that it could have had a small table with 3 chairs which would have been better than the desk with 1 chair. In fact it could fit both. 2 rubbish bins would have been handy, 1 in the bathroom, and 1 by the desk with the coffee and tea making facilities

Great location. Comfy room. Good shower. Breakfast was pleasant.

The aircon did not work at all. Despite the light and controls going on it appeared to have been turned off centrally probably as winter is coming but it was a very hot day. There was a sign up asking us not to use the lift to go down the floors ( only up as it was a busy lift) but we were on the top floor and it was 6 flights of stairs. This is unreasonable to ask. Or should be on the website as I have dodgy knees. The overnight staff could not speak English at all. Even a word. Being an international hotel they should have a basic grasp of common questions. The daytime staff were very helpful and could answer queries.

Location - perfect!!! The room was huge and perfectly clean, and the bed was really comfy, although the pillows were not comfortable to me. The shower was amazing. In the bathroom, we also had a towel heater. Near our room, we had a roof balcony with a nice view of Madrid. The breakfest exceeded our expectations! As vegeterian, usually I have limited options but here It had everything I could think of - vegetables, eggs, fruits, yogurts and sweets. Good cappuccino with extra money.

The pillows were not comfortable. Sometimes, we smelled sewage smell from the corridor. Long waiting time for the elevator.

The location is perfect, it is close to Puerto de Sol square an other attractions in a walkable distance. The staff was very helpful. They organised a packed breakfast for us at 6am, when we had early excursion. The room was not large bur convenient to stay. There was a kettle in the room and small fridge. Breakfasts are very good, all is fresh and each can find what to eat.

The breakfast area is too small and you need to go outside of the hotel, but it is just next to the hotel, so wasn't a big deal for us. Sometimes we couldn't find a free table and had to wait (not long). There was no coffee machine, therefore choice was limited and sometimes coffee was not hot enough. Another thing is elevator in the building. It's small and slow. If you are fit enough, i would suggest using stairs.

Check in was easy and location enabled short walks to most of the popular tour spots. Also made available a good breakfast next door that was affordably proced. We would stay here again

Upon check in the temperature in our room was very warm. We reported it to the staff who immediately called for maintenance and had the issue corrected. The staff had already moved us to a different room so this was not a significant issue
