While planning our Madrid trip, I remembered we stayed in this hotel before, on a previous (family)trip some 10 years ago. With good memories. Mainly because of the hotels excellent location in the heart of the city. Close to Sol plaza, with its metro stop. The Plaza Major & Mercado de Miguel a short walk to the west. And the Prado Museum (amongst others) & Retiro Parc a short walk to the east. With many shops, restaurants, bars & terraces in between ! The hotel underwent an upgrade over the years and did not disappoint us. Rooms as stated on the website. Comfortable bed (firm matrasses), large bathroom. And most important to us: clean ! Buffet breakfast with great variety on offer. If we are to return to Madrid, this hotel would be our choice again ! Bonus: although we arrived a little bit early, we were allowed to check in already as the room was ready. And on the last day of our stay we were able to enjoy the city, leaving our bags in the hotel storage before heading to the airport.

The location is unbeatable- attached to the Calderon Theatre, it's close to metro, bus, Plaza del Sol and more. The staff were also excellent. We had a few issues arise with our room during our stay- we shared a wall with the theatre so a siesta was impossible, we had two twin beds on wheels instead of a double bed, and most noticeably, our shower wasn't sealed properly and flooded the bathroom floor. After speaking to the staff, they listened patiently and tried to come up with a solution that worked for us and also immediately came up with extra towels and such. We were leaving the next morning, but I was impressed by how well they responded and they made me feel like a valued customer. Despite these problems, due to their handling of the issue, I would come and stay again in the future.

When I booked, we chose the option for a double bed instead of twin beds. The hotel did email us saying it was subject to availability, but had we known we would be getting twin beds, we likely would have cancelled our booking and chosen another location. Also, this may not have been as much of a problem had the beds not been on wheels (or used wheels that can be locked in place). The beds themselves were comfy, but them moving around constantly was not a comfortable setup. Also, while most of the hotel was very quiet and calm, be aware that one side of the hotel shares a wall with the theatre, so it can be quite noisy while the shows are on (never early morning or late at night though, thankfully).

Loved the hotel! We stayed only for one night, but really enjoyed - quiet neighbourhood (but very central), clean room, had everything you need for a comfy stay. And the bed is very comfortable! Definitely recommend

I have stayed in this hotel 7 times! It is my goto hotel whenever I am in Madrid. The upgrades and renovations during covid has been awesome. I will continue to stay here when ever I come to madrid which will be in 2025

The location of the hotel was perfect. We did not need to use the public transportation at all as the hotel was walking distance to all the places we wanted to visit. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was very good. They even had a selection of gluten free products. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. The insulation in the windows was excellent as we did not hear street noise at all even though the hotel is in a busy street. We even had a balcony which was very nice. The drainage in the shower was very good. Lights in the room are very good and the turn on/off buttons are conveniently located.

The bathroom has no ventilation. You need to wait for a while to get rid of the mist after shower. The hooks to hang your towels are in a weird spot and very inconvenient. The bathroom door clashes with the toilet. Would have been nice to have a sliding door at the bathroom as there is no space to open the door without clashing with the toilet. They use two separate sheets as a duvet cover and during your sleep they open and your body touches the duvet, which you do not prefer. I highly recommend them to use proper duvet cover. The elevator is very slow. You wait a lot. It needs renovation. Renovation of some of tge furniture would be nice.

The location was amazing! It’s located in a safe neighborhood and very close to the center (3 minutes from the main square). The room was basic but enough for anyone who doesn’t look for a luxury stay. The beds were comfortable as well. The staff was amazing — I don’t know his name but when I checked out, the receptionist gave me four different alternatives to reach the airport going above and beyond! Thanks again :)

You could hear a lot of noise coming from the other bathrooms, and it was kind of weird to hear others shower and flush the toilet haha

We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded upon arrival, which was a great start. The junior suite was spacious and comfortable, with a nice double bed, two sinks, two types of baths, a nice living room area. Parfait! The breakfast was good. The staff is friendly and nice. The location of the hotel is great. We were close to all commodities and monuments.

The sound insulation was quite poor; we could hear everything happening in the outside, which made it difficult to fully relax at night. Breakfast area is at the first floor, no view, no windows, just a big space. Most of workers during the breakfast do not speak english very well.

Nice staff especially the blond gentleman at the front desk didn’t catch his name I originally had a twin bed room, at my request they moved us to a single double bed. Mistake! The twin beds are in a bigger room. I hoped that when we switched, the size of the room would remain the same. Not! Twin beds are in a noticeably larger room. My bad. The front desk sent me to eat at Ginger. Follow their lead. Good meal. Good breakfast, we were happy. Bathroom good size all in all I would stay here again

Hotel is great placed, where everything you have to visit in Madrid is within walking distance. Truly recommend that hotel the reception guys is friendly and very helpful. They dont have kitchen and u need to eat in nearby restaurats but there are a lot to choose over there. Good Breakfast worth the price.

view from the window If you care about a beautiful view, this is not the room for you, we have seen only hotel walls and hotel rooms windows, but they also have open roof to chill and make sunbathing and see the Madrid Panoramic view (great place)

Great location,with lots to do and see close to the hotel.

Bar could have been open for a night cap after a busy day out but we managed !
