Although we initially thought the location to be a bit ‘industrial’, it was very interesting to watch the coming and goings of the cruise ships and fishing boats, and in no way detracted from our stay. The view from the balcony was stunning. The property is of a high quality. There is a bus stop outside Lidl (less than a 20 minute walk away) that goes to Weymouth. There is an excellent cafe opposite the road to the property which we had breakfast in. The lady in the tourist information office underneath the property was very helpful.
Just a small thing but we would have preferred mugs to tea cups. The local shop left a lot to be desired! (Lidl was excellent). It would have been great if we could have hired some binoculars - maybe something the tourist office could offer!

Lovely view from the balcony, we went in November and the heating worked well. Unique shape of the property which adds to the experience, very friendly staff
The smell in the whole apartment was really bad, we believe it was coming from the drains especially the bathroom. We thought it would air out so we opened the windows when we left for the day but when we came back it was no better, it was then after hours so we couldn’t approach anyone in the reception. It kept us up at nights and gave us bad headaches as it was so strong and unbearable. The shower was mouldy, the shower lacked hot water, it was barely luke warm so was really difficult to have a nice shower , the pressure in the shower head was also very very weak. The bedroom is by the main walk to the apartments so you can hear people walking up and down especially in the morning when they’re checking out with their luggages.

The view out of the apartment over Portland Harbour is glorious, with big sunsets. The apartment is well equipped, and very clean and comfortable, with a king-size bed and dedicated parking. There is a small convenience shop close by, and the WW2 museum and Portland castle are within easy walking distance. The staff member in the tourist information office on the ground floor of the block who greets you is super helpful. Nearby Chesil beach is lovely to visit, and the coastal path is on your doorstep. We hoped to get the ferry that runs from the wharf to Weymouth, but the season had finished and the floating pontoon for accessing the boat had been removed by the time we visited (early October)
The surrounding area seems quite run down, and Crabbers Wharf is smart and modern in comparison. Immediately behind the apartments is a busy, very crowded, working boat and ship repair yard, and when we were there, the noise from the work going on was quite intrusive during the day. Not a problem for us, as we went out and about, but if you wanted to stay in with the windows open, it would have meant coping with the noise of a rusty ship being grit blasted to clean it. There was also a bit of a strange smell in our apartment when we arrived (drains?), which we reported - we asked if we could move rooms but were told none were available, so we opened all the patio doors and blew it through.

View was amazing - all the rooms have balcony's that go on to the ocean on one side. the other side is a ship dockyard so not as pretty but part of the nautical life. It was right next door to the D-Day museum and Portland castle, so definately feel more team work on that could be done, as all are brilliant! Love the lock box part of check out, and the parking etc. the spiral stair case was interesting, but fine once we got situated.
The bells on the boats in the shipyard, dingle all nightlong when it is windy! hahaha. The beds need to have some rubber stoppers on them, as when you move in bed, they move with you - ended up half way the other side of the room when i woke up haha. The blue gate should be locked more, as the round windows didnt feel that secure if someone came up. Otherwise we absolutely love it!

The location was amazing. The apartment was lovely and so well themed/decorated. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The parking was very good. The free water based activity equipment was very impressive. The play area was used and enjoyed by our children daily.
I found the bed considerably uncomfortable and as such I had back ache each morning but my girlfriend didn't mind the firmness of the bed. There was a lot of veg noisy helicopter activity until after 10pm on some nights which didn't bother me but my girlfriend did not like this when trying to sleep. The steepness of the stairs to the snug worried us as they are very steep.

Property had everything you needed, especially loved the balcony over the water which is the reason for choosing this property. Hubby loves to have a balcony
Only a niggle and don’t want cleaners to get into trouble as it may have been an oversight but should the property have been mopped after sweeping/hoovering as unfortunately after taking my footwear off on getting into the property after walking around indoors my feet felt gritty and after looking before getting into bed the soles of my feet were extremely dirty almost black (wish I had taken a photo now) but this was very surprising. It didn’t spoil anything just made sure we kept footwear on after getting up in the mornings.

Location View Self contained Cleanliness ( not quite as clean as I’d do it , but one of the cleanest places we’ve stayed in). Some of the drawers in the kitchen needed a better wipe out b4 guests arrive. But I did these myself. Had everything in it we needed for a short stay We liked the fact you could use the kayak and paddle boards for free
Disappointed that we couldn’t use the free kayak on the BH weekend Saturday as there were staff shortages so no access to the store cupboard, such a shame. But we used the kayak on the Monday and it was good fun.

Clean, spacious, comfortable accommodation with superb views and easy parking. Staff were friendly and helpful both before and during the visit. Free use of range of watersports equipment was a much valued and enjoyed bonus. The location enabled easy access to Chesil Beach, Weymouth and the island of Portland with much to see and variety of places to eat. Excellent cafe [The Beehive] close by for coffee, fresh pastries, cakes and light snacks. The Cove House Inn at Chesil Beach was great for Sunday lunch - delicious fresh food and excellent value for money.
Kitchen and dining equipment was somewhat limited eg no bread knife and only basic crockery & cutlery.

The apartment was light bright and comfy. It was very clean and had everything we needed. A day or so before we visited we had a phone call to check that we were still ok to come and that we had new bed linen! Unfortunately on our 3 night stay the weather wasn't great so we only had 1 day that we could sit on the balcony, but it was lovely when we did. We enjoyed Portland, it's a quirky place. The DDay museum is a stones throw from Crabbers Wharf and there is also a castle. We were very relaxed in the apartment and that's what we came for so it fitted the bill!

The property was overall really clean, well furnished and the view over the sea was beautiful. Communal washing facilities came in handy and were well maintained, apart from one of the washing machines was broken.
A couple of negatives - despite the property looking and smelling clean, the floors would benefit from a mop. Any light coloured socks were black after walking on the floors. The double mattress was really thin & uncomfortable. Beside those two things, we would definitely go back and recommend!
