Nice, atmospheric inn with large pub, outside seating and comfortable rooms at a scenic location next to a loch.

We would have been fully satisfied if the room had been averaged priced, but we paid GBP 200 for a double room (probably because it was a weekend in summer and booked 2 weeks in advance). For that amount of money we don't expect to have to take your luggage through a full pub, through a maze of stairs and hallways to your room, a shower that turns cold and breakfast at appointment where some of the staples are finished and very reluctantly refilled. As in most British hotels the room was too warm for us. When we opened the window we could not get it closed again.

We stayed in Room 3, double room with loch view and the view didn't disappoint, it's postcard perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they work hard for their guests. The restaurant was lovely, food was great. Breakfast was tasty and sufficient. The pub has a good feel to it. The Arrochar area is fantastic for walks with spectacular views. It's a great place for some quality time to relax and chill out. We had an amazing time and stay here!

Some food on the restaurant menu wasn't available due to their supplies delivery issues - this can't be helped, it's just an unfortunate timing however we still enjoyed our meal. The rooms are so close to each other so the noise can be too much if you're a light sleeper.

A beautiful, quaint place to stay. The staff could not do enough for you. Great location if you are after a remote getaway. Dinner was delicious and breakfast was great too! Would recommend booking a room with a Loch View as it truly is a stunning look at Loch Long.

There was so much noise throughout the night that it was impossible to get a good sleep. Walls are extremely thin, and windows do not have double glazing or a good seal, so all outdoor noise - wind, cars unloading at all hours, and traffic noises were loud and clear. We were wakened by our neighbours coughing and getting up at 5AM. The WiFi was intermittent at best, and with this location having absolutely no mobile reception, this was extremely frustrating.

Beautiful location and great beer garden overlooking the loch. Fabulous staff - a lovely check-in with Derek. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The inn has a lovely, old-traditional feel to it - dark wood panelling, the smell of wood fires and feels very cosy and welcoming. Delicious food served for dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. My husband said it was the best Eggs Benedict he had ever had! If you are staying in high-season, I would recommend you book dinner in advance as the restaurant was busy on the night we were there. The room we booked was very well appointed and comfortable with a nod to its Scottish heritage in the decor and fabrics, and had views over the loch. The en-suite bathroom looked like it had recently been renovated. Overall we very much enjoyed our visit and would recommend the Village Inn to anyone wanting a relaxed stay, great food and a truly wonderful location.

The room is in a pub on the loch. It’s a great pub with friendly service and very nice food with beer garden. The room is a good size with a modern bathroom and a Nespresso machine. The cooked breakfast is nice with lots of options. We left early on our last day and they were nice enough to make us up some bacon sandwiches. The service all round was very good. If you were from Glasgow it would be a great place for a break.

The television was limited and the signal wasn’t strong so didn’t pick up some channels. It would have been nice to have a mini fridge in the room. There is nothing wrong with the place but a few small improvements would have been nice.

Really impressed with this accommodation. We had the room at the front facing the Loch which was perfect with the most beautiful view. The room was comfortable, clean and kept to a high standard - it was a real treat to end our NC500 trip! An extra special touch with both the sea kelp bathroom products & having use of the nespresso machine was a welcome delight. The location is perfect, not too touristy. Staff were all friendly, helpful and a credit to the establishment. Food, we only ate breakfast, great selection, ample portions and quality ingredients. Honestly loved our stay, highly recommend and will use again if we find ourselves in Loch Lomand again!

That we only stayed for one night!

We have stayed at other hotels in the area and the Village Inn is the best. Staff were so friendly from booking in to bar staff and restaurant staff were great. Better than we expected and would recommend to others.

The only problem was dinner. Starters were good. Mains we had macaroni and cheese a bit dry due to microwave overheat. Fish and chips chips were repeats and were very crispy fish was great cooked fresh. For desert we ordered rhubarb crumble but were disappointed again microwaved and was too hot and crumble was soft. If this could be sorted it would make a bid difference.

What a gem this place is! Large & atmospheric in a most beautiful area of Scotland. We stayed in a cottage at the back of the inn. We received a warm welcome on arrival and was given all the information we needed such as safety instructions, breakfast & checkout time, wifi etc. Our room had all the facilities as described and was warm & comfortable. Our bathroom had a huge modern walk in shower unit! Our evening meal was excellent & was served promptly despite the restaurant being very busy. Good value for money with some unusual choices to suit all palates. Breakfast was in the main hotel and there was an adequate choice of both hot & cold food. We would most certainly stay again

There wasn't anything not to like

almost everything ..wonderful staff and great food and near perfect room

there was no sink plug on the day we arrived and we COULD NOT TAKE A BATH as the plug remained raised a few millimetres above the hole allowing the WATER TO ESCAPE AS QUICKLY AS IT WAS RUNNNING IN !!! we consider this a failure to meet the agreed terms and conditions binding guest and the property operators ...and seek a remedy to this ...not being able to have a bath is a bit basic in the 21st century ...dont you think ...but it would not stop us returning assuming all was sorted ...WE HAVE STAYED HERE MANY TIMES and always in a loch view room

Beautiful location. Very clean and comfortable room. All staff were really friendly and helpful. The beer garden is fantastic - quite large with plenty of seating and the most beautiful view.. Good selection of beer. The road between the hotel and the loch is very quiet, not at all like the main road along Loch Lomond. We haven't stayed over in this area before as we only live about 1.5 hours drive from here, but now we have found such a lovely place, we will do so again.

Bang bang broccoli was excellent, gammon steak and breakfast not so much.
