We stayed in Room 3, double room with loch view and the view didn't disappoint, it's postcard perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they work hard for their guests. The restaurant was lovely, food was great. Breakfast was tasty and sufficient. The pub has a good feel to it. The Arrochar area is fantastic for walks with spectacular views. It's a great place for some quality time to relax and chill out. We had an amazing time and stay here!

Some food on the restaurant menu wasn't available due to their supplies delivery issues - this can't be helped, it's just an unfortunate timing however we still enjoyed our meal. The rooms are so close to each other so the noise can be too much if you're a light sleeper.

A beautiful, quaint place to stay. The staff could not do enough for you. Great location if you are after a remote getaway. Dinner was delicious and breakfast was great too! Would recommend booking a room with a Loch View as it truly is a stunning look at Loch Long.

There was so much noise throughout the night that it was impossible to get a good sleep. Walls are extremely thin, and windows do not have double glazing or a good seal, so all outdoor noise - wind, cars unloading at all hours, and traffic noises were loud and clear. We were wakened by our neighbours coughing and getting up at 5AM. The WiFi was intermittent at best, and with this location having absolutely no mobile reception, this was extremely frustrating.

What a gem this place is! Large & atmospheric in a most beautiful area of Scotland. We stayed in a cottage at the back of the inn. We received a warm welcome on arrival and was given all the information we needed such as safety instructions, breakfast & checkout time, wifi etc. Our room had all the facilities as described and was warm & comfortable. Our bathroom had a huge modern walk in shower unit! Our evening meal was excellent & was served promptly despite the restaurant being very busy. Good value for money with some unusual choices to suit all palates. Breakfast was in the main hotel and there was an adequate choice of both hot & cold food. We would most certainly stay again

there was no sink plug on the day we arrived and we COULD NOT TAKE A BATH as the plug remained raised a few millimetres above the hole allowing the WATER TO ESCAPE AS QUICKLY AS IT WAS RUNNNING IN !!! we consider this a failure to meet the agreed terms and conditions binding guest and the property operators ...and seek a remedy to this ...not being able to have a bath is a bit basic in the 21st century ...dont you think ...but it would not stop us returning assuming all was sorted ...WE HAVE STAYED HERE MANY TIMES and always in a loch view room

A really nice period hotel, nicely appointed with clean, comfortable rooms. Beautifully decorated for the festive season. A great bar and a nice restaurant serving high quality food. Fabulous staff; couldn't do enough to make our stay just great - many thanks.

Whilst the bar is a nice place to be, it would be nice to retire to your room to relax with a bit of T.V. Here is our major gripe with this hotel - there are only two channels to choose from - BBC1 or BBC2. Apparently this is due to poor reception in Arrochar! Really, we are now in the 21st century, not the 1960's..! Surely all the hotel has to do is replace the 'non-smart' tv' with 'smart' ones and connect them to the hotel's Internet- job done! So, if you need some tv, please bring your laptop!

Nice traditional Scottish breakfast with a basic buffet. Dinner was nice. A traditional bar which I enjoyed a lot. The inn sits on the side of Loch Long. It was cloudy and drizzly. The scenery was much more than breathtaking. One can sit for hours with a glass of whatever or coffee, in total silence and just enjoy living. It needs a poet to be able to does the place justice. Unfortunately I am not. They also have large beer garden in front of the place. A summer visit is already planned. 50 min drive from Glasgow

Nothing to mention. One look at the lake and you forget that there is anything ugly in this world.

Cute and cosy pub with rooms. The room was comfortable and pretty. The view from the restaurant onto the Loch is gorgeous. Dinner was great too. Try their famous chicken and pancetta pie. The service was welcoming and friendly.

There is a good selection of cooked breakfast but the eggs and hard square sausage thingy with the Scottish breakfast could have been better. But that's a matter of personal taste I think. I liked the bathroom but for mobility impaired guests the shower in the tub might be difficult to handle.

The Village in is a fantastic place with a very warm, comfortable atmosphere. Everything from check in to stay and check out was perfect. On arrival the staff checked us in there are no extra room charges and the amenities are good we then went to the cosy bar downstairs with a good selection of drinks for reasonable prices. We made new friends that had a dog with them. The Village Inn is perfect for this there is even a dog menu. After some good banter it was time to sample their menu you can choose from the restaurant or the bar we opted for the bar which is order at the bar service. The food arrived in good time I had the steak which was excellent thank you chef all four plates got emptied proper food at a good price. Our room was spacious, and the bed was fantastic we tucked in for a peaceful night The morning breakfast was included, and the service was top-notch. And the view over the loch suburb. The cheerful breakfast staff explained everything to a German couple visiting for the first time. I had the eggs Benedict which was del ish along with freshly brewed coffee and grapefruit juice. Maybe a bit later breakfast option but having said that it lets you have a great use of your day. At quiet times and only if possible a discretion of table service in the small bar would be nice

Just a few little niggles. After ordering from the offered menu we noticed there was a chef specials board we weren't told about and we were too late to change our order. Then after returning to the room and logging onto the hotel WiFi, we were offered a 40%discount on the evening meals and again it was too late. Very disappointed.

Quaint and welcoming place, bedrooms felt more like being in a hotel rather than a pub. Bedrooms were modern and well appointed with modern bathroom/ showers. All very clean and well decorated. Pleasant and helpful staff.

Quite a remote village location with not much in the way of facilities within walking distance. Food could have been better, expected more after reading reviews. Local convenience store had very little stock, however there was a for sale sign, so this could be why if the proprietor is selling up. Recommend Ben Arthur Bothy pub a 15 min walk away, food very good but would advise booking in advance.
