This place was a 6 minute drive from Cedar Point, the main reason why we were in the area. It was a very basic room sufficient for our needs. It has a small fridge, coffee maker, and a microwave. The bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. Parking was easily available and there are a few eateries and a mini mart within 10 minutes of this place.

Wish the walls weren't so thin. We could hear all the conversations happening loud and clear in the room next to us. One night, the guests in the next room kept talking till 2 AM. We also heard their dog barking. Another morning, we got awakened at 7 am by different guests talking loudly in the morning. Also would help to have darker shades for the window.

Newly renovated and clean.

We had a suite for up to six people. And yet there were only two chairs to sit on. There was plenty of room where they could’ve just done a table and four chairs instead of the two oversized one loungers. It takes a good four minutes to get any hot water out of the shower. But once it did, it was fine. We have to mention quality of construction is questionable. Lots of gaps in the base trim and other spots. The sanitary vinyl trim in the shower had huge gaps and no doubt we’ll have black mold issues in the near future.

Pet friendly without any extra fees is top tier! The space behind the motel is fenced off and perfect for getting out of the room without needing to go to a local state park. Having the luxury of being able to pull into the lot and unlocking your room door without needing to talk to a front desk staff was exceptional for wanting to relax right after driving hours round get there. Having the luxury of a food truck out front made it very convenient to grab a bite to eat without needing to drive more.

The bathroom sinks are rather small.

The location was great, very close to town but a little outside the main area, plus there was a big open green space out back which my dogs loved. The room had everything we needed; nice mini fridge, microwave, TV, wifi, big shower, and good toiletries. Everything (bathroom, floors, walls, fridge, bedding) was *very* clean and the beds were super comfortable. The little "common" area had ice and vending machines, a seating area, and water refill station. The overall theme of the motel was very retro, and well done.

The ice machine has a water spigot that should be cleaned or closed off. The water tasted like bleach and mold (but there was another nearby water refill station that was very clean). The room could stand to have a main trash can, not just a small one in the bathroom. The light by the front door needs to have a switch like the other lights in the room so that it can be turned off without turning all the lights off. The room price was tripled because of the eclipse, which is crappy but I guess understandable. Normal prices would have felt well worth it.

The vibe of the room was so cute super. We had kids 6 and 13 with us and they actually preferred this room over the castaway bay room. We paid for the castaway bay room after reading castaway had awful reviews we last minute booked the Explorer Motel and we’re so happy we did. Went to castaway bay to swim and used the room to change and came back to The Explorer for clean, comfortable and safe stay. We will be staying again in the future.

There was nothing we did not like. We loved our room it was perfect. It was quiet and clean. If I had to say something “we didn’t like” maybe have a roll of paper towels in the room Marcos didn’t give use napkins with our pizza. Lol

The location: super close to the amusement park and not far from shopping area. The facilities: very clean, crisp look, quaint and modern with a retro look. Bed was super comfortable and full of pillows! Check in and out were very easy. I love the keyless entry.

I only had one issue with getting on the site for the key code. The Associate who answered my call was very helpful. Also the countertop sink was crooked the counter had a downward slope so my products would slide off the counter but it was a very slight slope.

It was the perfect place to stay for a getaway to Cedar Point. Only a short 3 miles from the park, this is one of the coziest little motels we’ve ever stayed in. The bed is so comfortable, like a cloud. I got amazing sleep. The staff was very helpful when we requested a few things. We have stayed at Breakers and Lighthouse Point in the past, but this was a quarter of the price of those places and we absolutely loved it!

Nothing.

Very simple for my daughter and I. We didn’t spend much time there as we were at a tourney. It’s not a big hotel experience but exactly what we needed for the weekend. Great location. And clean. Cute place.

It’s not that I didn’t like it. But there is no staff on site. Like I said. Not a big hotel experience. Everything is done by phone and text/email. If that’s not your jam wouldn’t be the place for you. Cute quaint and simple!

Everything felt simple and updated. It was very spacious (except for the bathroom). Communication with the facility was easy. Contactless checkin and checkout was easy. If you use streaming services, everything you need is at your fingertips

You could tell they built the facility as cheaply as possible. The craftsmanship was poor - meaning you could see that it was poorly built. But the work is disguised by the crisp and modern style. I wish they had basic tv.

The suite was spacious and well-maintained. The beds were comfortable. It was quiet and easy to get restful sleep.

The showers were standup showers with curtains that got water all over the floor. It would have been nice to also have been given one extra toilet paper roll. I do understand that I could have asked for one.
