Location is excellent - we arrived late evening on ferry from Flam, and it was just a very short walk from Strandkai to the hotel. It was also quite close to the light rail terminus, which we took to the airport on departure. It is also a very short walk into the city centre, and to a number of good restaurants. The room itself was quite large, with a window to an inner courtyard, and block-out curtains to keep out the early-morning summer sun. Beds were comfortable, and there was a desk and sofa, and a kettle to make tea and coffee. Breakfast was also excellent, with an extensive range of foods and beverages, although it was very crowded at times. Overall, a pleasant stay and we would be happy to return.

We had some difficulty adjusting the air conditioning; our room was a little warm unless we opened the window. The stay was quite expensive; of the 11 hotels we stayed at on this trip (all similar standard, and including Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm) this was the most expensive on a per night basis. Perhaps this is just Bergen ?

The location was fantastic! It was very close to most places we wanted to go to in the "touristy" part of the city, as well as bwing walkable from the interesting restaurants & bars further from those museums & attractions. The rest of the hotel looked pretty, though we really only came back to sleep. Hotel staff was kind, and gave us some extra towels when we asked.

The twin beds had one big mattress, instead of two separate ones. Wasn't ideal, but we made it work. Be careful of the steps in the room, espcially at night, as the bed is a few steps below the bathroom & exit. None of these were deal-breakers for us though, and we still had a very pleasant stay.

Although this is a busy hotel the staff worked very hard to meet everyone's needs. It has a big hotel feel with wide open entrance hall off which is the breakfast area. The breakfast was excellent and beautifully presented. Although the lift system was put under a bit of pressure when groups arrived it provided adequate service. Our room, 4007, was excellent with a walk in shower something we really appreciate. The beds were extremely comfortable. The location is a short walk from the station and light rail terminus and provides excellent links to the harbour for the various ferries. The town centre and museums are a short walk away. All in all a great hotel for the price. Thank you for an excellent stay.

Good location easy to find and walk to. Lots of rooms so price likely to be ok with a nice breakfast.

Lacks a bit of character the architecture of the hotel is utilitarian.

Very comfortable hotel (I selected a roomier room when booking as I've found out in the past that regular rooms in Norway can be on the small side), and super helpful staff. I didn't need much, but the little I asked, they were keen and solved right away (e.g. I asked for an electric kettle to make coffee/tea in the room, and they provided me with one right away). Breakfasts was very good and has something for everyone. I have found that breakfast in Norwegian hotels generally put to shame the breakfasts in North American hotels, and the Scandic Neptune's breakfast fully lived up to that tradition.

Nothing really to complain. If I were to be picky, I would have liked to have a coffee/tea maker in the room by default, but the hotel provided me with the kettle when I asked. The lesson here is always go and politely ask when you need something, and often enough, things can be fixed.

City center location a 5min walk from the tramway, pleasant lobby and general seating area to chill out with a coffee. Good breakfast, but slightly cramped when the hotel is full. Comfy Bed and modern bathroom.

Hopefully just a one off : First night was fine, second day/night the room got really hot, checked radiator was low setting, thermostat set to 21, but temp 25.5degC!! Winter time, so opened the window an hour or two to cool it down, but obviously with attendant street noise. Oh, and more than one plug socket at the desk area would be good.

Breakfast was excellent with a good range of hot and cold dishes. We especially liked the Lunch Pack option at breakfast where you paid NoK95 and given a bag and wrapping paper. You can choose anything from the breakfast buffet for lunch...basically fill the bag. We made sandwiches with beautiful fresh bread, took a couple of pastries, some vegan protein balls and a handful of cherry tomatoes. A bargain and no waiting in a queue.

Could have had two tubs of butter at the bread board at breakfast. Always seemed to run out of butter. Other than that (very minor) , we had a wonderful 5 days staying there.

I recently stayed at the Scandic Neptun Hotel in Bergen, and I had a wonderful experience. The room was excellent, offering a stunning view of Bryggen, which made every morning special. The hotel is centrally located, making it incredibly convenient to explore all the major attractions in Bergen. The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable, and the breakfast spread was diverse and delicious, catering to various tastes and preferences. The only minor issue was the noise from the radiators, which was noticeable at times. However, I must commend the hotel’s staff for their prompt and efficient resolution of the problem each day. Their professionalism truly enhanced my stay. Overall, I highly recommend the Scandic Neptun Hotel for anyone visiting Bergen. It combines great location, beautiful views, excellent cleanliness, and outstanding service.

I liked the room very much as it is very nice and also very surprised and satisfied that there was a small fridge in the room. Good, comfortable bed. The breakfast is very good, more so since it has so much to choose from. The lady with which I checked in and checked out today is very kind, helpful and professional. Overall it contributed to me having a great time in Bergen. I will be back; hopefully this or next year.

Oh, can't think of anything much right now.

The hotel is in a very good location close to the centre, the fish market and restaurants, cafes and only walking distance from where the airport bus stops The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable with a lovely view from the window. There was plenty of hot water in the shower. There was a kettle and tea, coffee making facility in the room. The breakfast was very good with a wide variety to choose from. We requested a room on the eighth floor. Therefore, it was accessible by lift. Staff was friendly and helpful.

There was no temperature icontrol in the room, and in the summer, the room was too hot. The telephone in the room was not working therefore couldn't get in touch with the reception to ask about the temperature control. The bathroom smelled of sewage.
