Big rooms with a private swimming pool. We had a beach and ocean view, which was great. Breakfast was fantastic with a la carte menu. Staff was very friendly and the hotel was walking distance to the main entertainment area.

Didn’t like that there were so many Israelis in the hotel (and in Koh Samui in general). They were very loud and obnoxious. We heard a lot is screaming, shouting and disturbance in the room next to us and in the hallways (loud adults and screaming kids).

Superb accommodation, that looks exactly like the photographs. The staff were amazing and helpful with our one year old daughter. Upon check-in, you can choose your pillow & the smell of soap/bodylotion you prefer in your room. Also, SALA provides an app that you can use throughout your stay to communicate with the staff about housekeeping/restaurants reservations and everything else you can think of. Amazing and very responsive service. During our stay in Thailand, we stayed in various 5-star resorts, but this was by far the best hotel we stayed in. We will definitely return to Koh Samui and to SALA Chaweng specifically. We highly recommend this hotel! Also, short walk to Chaweng center + 24/7 supermarket in front of the resort. The Tent serves very good breakfast, lunch and dinner with amazing views.

During our stay it was really crowded and we could not always find beds on the beach. That being said, there were always sunbeds available (they also have sunbeds near the pool and loungers on the grass, etc.).

Beautifully designed hotel with tastefully decorated, super spacious rooms, set in luscious grounds. Staff are very friendly and attentive. So many nice little touches, like special bedtime tea blend in the room every night, and lots of handy amenities. Great setup on the beach with sufficient number of lounges, didn’t have a problem getting one at all, and a great restaurant beachside. Gym well equipped and nice too. The hotel I think is making sustainability efforts. It’s great that they provide free “tap” water (bottled water from bigger barrels) instead of the plastic bottles seen everehere in Asia. This is provided iced cups on the beach for everyone , and at the restaurant. Our room had its own private pool which was amazing ! We loved our stay and would come again!

The price of the room (on the expensive side in Thailand) is worth it for the level of comfort and service), however I feel that the spa treatments, and the prices at the restaurant for food and drinks are very overpriced for Thailand, and seemed to be the most expensive of any of the other hotel menus we saw. $8 AUD for a bottle of San Pellegrino mineral water is excessive. The food undoubtedly was delicious, really beautiful thai food, but similar prices to what you would pay in Australia. Then don’t forget the additional 10% and 7% in taxes on top. It’s fine if you have no problem paying - it’s very convenient and the quality and service at the restaurant is high, however maybe slight adjustment would be more commensurate.

Loved everything about it.. the staff were amazing.. the beach was awesome. It has a supermarket which is open 24/7, were you can find all the things you needed. Close to some restaurants only walking distance.

Stunning hotel with big, bright rooms. The breakfast was phenomenal and we loved having an ocean view. We loved having direct access to the beach and the possibility of renting kayaks/paddel boards. The staff was incredibly friendly and the spa is very good, too!

We stayed in another hotel with a similar room which was just as good but paid a much lower nightly rate for that one. I think this hotel is a bit overpriced, especially since we travelled during low season. We also had some uncomfortable nights since the beds are quite hard and if you stay on the ocean side, you can hear some of the street noise.

We had an infinity pool suite, there is only one bed in the private pool, only one person can enjoy it at a time, which was a bit strange. We didn’t use the private pool as much as we planned because of it.

25 years ago i stayed in the same location, when there was another Hotel licated here … so i was very curious how things are. And what can i say? A Beautiful and spacious hotel, very generous rooms that are a lot bigger than they appear in the pictures. I slept comfortably on the mattress and the twice daily room cleaning is a luxury without ever being intrusive. The staff in general are absolutely wonderful: super friendly and relaxed while being reliable and very professional. I felt like a very welcome guest whenever we interacted. Breakfast was great and Dinner in the Cabanas so relaxing. When i got sick i was provided complimentary tea, toast, bananas… the team checking in on me and being very helpful. The beach is not swimmable but beautiful - if you are looking for picturesque serenity, to me, it’s the best location on Chaweng you can get. I would come back again any time and fully recommend the hotel! Different Hotel - but just as great as 25 years ago.

I’m not good with aircons and since there was no classic fan in the room, i had to manage. No big deal, but a ceiling fan over the bed would have been my icing on the cake.

Beautiful accommodation in a great spot in Chaweng. We stayed for our honeymoon and are so glad we did, we were provided with a complimentary bottle of wine and dessert which was really nice. The service was fantastic including choice of soaps, body lotion and pillows. The rooms came with complimentary fruit and nuts and a turn down service with tea delivered each evening. They also have an arrangement with a local motorbike hire company so you can hire and collect from the hotel. Rooms were beautiful and spacious. The beach set up with free paddle boards and canoes to use was great, the staff also bring you ice water regularly and even fruit and fruit juice at different times. We also had a really great experience dining on the beach at the tent restaurant, the food was really nice and the view even nicer.

The only piece of feedback I have is that a few of the walls around our pool had been touched up and it didn’t look great. The pool also got quite dirty regularly from the trees above, it was cleaned on most days we were but on one day it wasn’t and had built up quite a lot of leaves and things in it.

- The moon pool area was unfortunately renovated during our stay (this somewhat detracted from the ambience) but we were given fair vouchers as compensation instead [two freew cocktails every day and one dinner at sexy fish | value: approx. 250 - 300 €] - The Thai breakfast dishses were compared to others a bit poor - Service prices for e.g., massage or drivers are way over the avarage

Best highlight of our stay at Sala Samui was the breakfast by the beach! The 'tent' where we had breakfast had a wonderful array of buffet breakfast options as well as a la carte menu that you can order from with specials daily. The a la carte options were out of this world - my personal favourite being the banana cake with espresso butter and my husband enjoyed his shakshuka which was perfection! Chaweng beach was lovely for beach walks & was gentle for swimming and paddling around for my daughter. Hotel room was amazing - super comfortable bed and even more amazing was the customizable option of the pillow menu where you can choose the type of pillow you want to sleep on! The amenities in the room were first class from bath salts, to lemongrass scented shower gel & lotions (again you may customise yours!). We were even given complimentary soothing night time brewed teas. The property itself was aesthetically beautiful with everything moon shaped or making references to the moon including the Moon pool. The beach accessories - lounge beds by the pool side and the couches we can lounge on the beach were very comfortable for lazy afternoons at the beach. The Pink flower massage parlour at the beach next to the 'Tent' - did amazing massages on the beach to the sound of gentle ocean waves. The open air movie nights on the projector on the lawn was such a super experience especially for my daughter who thoroughly enjoyed herself! Bonus for the crunchy caramel popcorn whilst watching! Lastly we enjoyed watching the 'Fireshow' that the hotel put on at the beach - it was an electrifying & beautiful performance. Recommend trying out outside -Italian restuarant Prego if you want a change.

Moon Pool could get a little crowded and too many smokers everywhere from poolside to beach area & restuarant 'Tent' side. We also found that one room near us maybe a floor below us, (we were on 3rd floor our outdoor pool facing the beach) they were blasting music from their room which wasn't considerate for others around them. We had to complain to reception about it for them to stop/lower the volume. Cleaning staff/housekeeping were not thorough and consistent in their cleaning and tidying up of room. I would recommend that there is room for improvement here.
