The staff and the manager/landlord were very friendly and helpful to us. The breakfast was excellent and the room was clean. The shower was amazing. They were extremely welcoming and were more than helpful when it came to our dog who loved his stay there. On the whole we liked the hotel. Big plus was the brilliant shower. That's a huge thumbs up.
My wife is disabled and for her there were too many steps, for me and my wife, the was a bit uncomfortable, it was even a bit uncomfortable for me. though as we were only staying for two nights this was good enough, there were two single beds, one which was comfortable enough for my wife. There was not enough sound proofing in the room and the toilet cistern took over 20 minutes to fill up. If it wasn't for all the steps this would have been better but with my wife's desabiliries, maybe a better description would help others with disabilities as there are no rooms downstairs.

Great choices at breakfast made to order, served in a greatly atmospheric breakfast room. Comfy bed. Good shower. Spacious bathroom. I thought we had only booked a double room but we got a suite, which also had a comfy sofa and extra beds. Good location for visiting Glendalough
Check in was confusing, with no one in, needed to get the staff serving the bar in the next room to help out. As such, we did not immediately receive relevant info like the wifi code or got explained where breakfast would be served, we had to ask for this when realising this info was not in the room. No parking at the hotel, only on street parking which could get busy depending on time of day wrt to the popular takeaway across the road.

The staff were amazing, especially Audrey (I hope that's right).! They went over and beyond their usual duty and were very helpful and pleasant. The bed was comfy and the room was nice and big with nice views. The shower was great, couldn't bring myself to get out of it. This is a hotel that has been in the same family for generations so is full of character.
What makes this hotel interesting is also part of its negative points. It just needs some refreshing and there isn't wifi in each room - no harm, it was good to get off it for a while and relax.

The dining room is lovely, with period decor right down to the juice glasses. They definitely put effort into it. Though I was the only person there, she put on a lovely breakfast spread for me.
Although I was the sole resident in the hotel (so there were no lights on throughout property and it was mostly shut down for winter off season, I was a last minute booking), and was upgraded, my room was near the pub doors below and the locals get a little crazy at closing time. They are loud upon exit and tend to burn rubber in their cars while leaving Main Street. Not the hotel’s fault of course, just my experience in winter.

The photos do not do this place justice. Some rooms I believe are a little brown. But the room I stayed in and the rooms beside me we decorated so beautiful! You could tell the person own does the decor really enjoys it. Super clean rooms! Comfortable and quiet. Stunning breakfast with fresh fruit compote and freshly made grill.
The only let down is the pub/bar. It smelt and you could feel the dirt. I think I walked in the wrong entrance. But I wouldn’t let that be a reason not to stay here.

The Meath Arms is a wonderful place to stay. Steeped in it's own history, it exudes warmth and the very best of Irish hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble, the rooms were lovely and traditionally furnished. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Paul the owner, is a fantastic host, and so helpful, as were all the staff. Will definitely be going back.
For us, it was perfect.

We booked the cottage which provided space for my one year old daughter. The back patio was great for her to walk around. The beds were very comfortable and kitchen was perfect in providing what we needed. The cottage is updated and is very cozy. It’s also in a great location for walking and exploring. The first, last, and best impression was the owner, Paul. He made us feel right at home and helped us with getting a cab in a short notice as well as going beyond for my family (like when there luggage was lost for a wedding and he provided clothing). He has a huge heart and we can’t thank him enough.
We didn’t want to leave!

We loved everything about Meath arms country inn. The room was bigger than we expected, and the bed was so comfortable. Shower was amazing. Breakfast was the best ever. I honestly can say it's been the best place we ever stayed in and can't wait to go back. We'll done to all who run this amazing inn.

Ideally located for enjoying the Wicklow countryside. Historic property, with character, not just your normal faceless b & b. We only had toast and tea but the breakfast looked great. We were still full from a meal in the Italian at Macreddin Village nearby
No food options for an evening meal, but two takeaways within 100 yards and the proprietar said we could take them back to the b & b

Breakfast was fab (including the breakfast room) so cosy and welcoming Our garden suite room was fabulous so clean and so comfy (AMAZING shower!)
One thing i forgot to mention at checkout was that I cut my finger quite badly on little hooks sticking out of the top of the curtains when i was opening them in the morning of checkout. Maybe someone could take a look at this so someone else doesn’t get hurt! (garden suite room window to the left as you walk in)
