Both myself and my partner has the most beautiful two night stay here. The views were amazing, the staff were so attentive and kind. The rooms are stunning and extremely spacious. We had a minor issue with the cooker on the second night but within the hour of letting reception know there was a lovely woman knocking at the door ready to try fix it. Highly recommend visiting the beauty hut for some form of treatment, we had the most relaxing massages with the sweetest woman who recommended a Christmas market near by (really made our weekend, so Thankyou) A huge thankyou to the pianist who stayed later after his set finished to accommodate my partner and I, the most perfect Saturday evening sat in front of the log burning open fire listening to the beautiful music. If you’re looking for something to do outside, we suggest going to reception and picking up a detectives trail … best £9.99 spent! The walk was relatively steady, plenty of places to stop off for lunch or a hot drink. We booked again whilst we were there!

There was absolutely nothing to dislike!

Everything you could ask for as a base near Lancaster, with great facilities and lovely places to visit nearby. Lovely leisure area with pool for a daily swim. The studio room was large and clean. We had a longer stay than usual, so used the cleaning service a couple of times. You do need a car to get around, but the small shop is handy on the premises, if you run out of the basics. Great choice of eateries in local pubs and in the city. There is also a lovely restaurant on site if you want to eat in.

No net curtains on our window for privacy, so people walking by could see in if we didn't close our curtains, making the room dark. Hopefully that will be rectified.

Very clean fully equipped. Gorgeous location.

Sometimes have to park away from the apartments

Thurnham Hall is splendid in every way: location, the buildings, facilities, and service. Our studio was spacious, had all relevant kitchen appliances including hob and grill (even though these weren’t used), and had superior furniture—compared to the inferior ikea-type in many other places. We loved many special things, like the expansive green spaces of every sort around us, the pool, excellent service, and the serenity. It’s a special place.

We didn’t like the fact that our ‘double’ bed was actually two single beds laid side by side, and without a topper to at least remove the space between. Next time we will check in on this before arrival.

Stayed in the 6 bedroom apartment . Think of it more as a holiday home rather than a hotel overnight accommodation. There is a swimming pool, playground, carp lake, walks etc. There is a washing machine , dishwasher, fridge, freezer, sofas, balcony, 2 lovely bathrooms. The meal in the dining hall was v good. Would recommend. You can buy commodities like bread, ice, etc. from the shop in the hall.

Our whole apartment smelt of Indian curry. Don't know if it was from the people downstairs, or the previous occupants. Such a shame. We opened all the windows and doors. It was also v hot being one of the hottest weeks of the year

Set in beautiful grounds with lovely walks, the rooms are catered with everything you need from microwaves to bottle openers. There is also a small on-site leisure centre. Unfortunately, we did not get to try out the restaurant, but other than that, there really is not anything not to like.

The only issue we had was noisy pipes/heating. It sounded as though the hot water was coming on and off. We did report it, however it was too late in the evening to get it checked. It was a bit annoying as it kept us awake. Would also be nice to have perhaps a darker blind over the door.

The central building and grounds are beautiful. We had accommodation in one of the cottages; it was spacious, very comfortable, and well-equipped. We even had a little table and chairs outside the cottage for our use. We had access to the spa, which was not large, but it was not busy, and we had a relaxing time there. The receptionists at check-in and check-out were friendly and professional; the check-in and check-out processes were easy and quick. Good communication from the hotel before arrival.

The main building and the entire place are very characterful, but the cottage we were staying in was beige and bland, making it easy to forget. It might be purposeful, so it suits any traveller, but it would be nice to keep it in line with the character of the building. The leisure centre reception team was a little lacking in customer skills, and one time we felt we were an inconvenience. Nothing horrible, but in contrast with a very welcoming and friendly check-in receptionist, but none of these would put us off from returning.

The property was larger than what I expected; given I only wanted something to sleep 4 (A Adults, 2 children), I had chosen a single room with double bed and a sofa bed. To our surprise, it had a large open plan living room and a conservatory too which was a bonus. The property and the overall resort seemed well kept although we did not go around very much tbh. The pool area was clean and had a spa and sauna too. The kids enjoyed their time here.

The pool area showers were way too hot us. But they say it is for stopping the growth of bacteria (I had never experienced such hot showers before).

Everything you need is there. Rooms were spacy. Two sinks in both the main bathroom and en-suite. En-suite with bath tub. Quiet countryside location. Luxurious self-catering apartment with hotel facility. Only 15 minutes drive to Lancaster town centre.

Check-in 4PM and check-in and 10AM check-out is little bit short compare to most of the places we stay are 14.00 check-in and 11.00 check-out. We stayed two nights, but if you are staying just for one night, you feel that you won't get much of the value.

All the staff were brilliant and their friendliness helped to make us feel relaxed during our time there. Dan and Georgina on reception were extremely helpful and approachable, going the extra mile to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. The rooms were very clean and well equipped and the pool area was also very clean and surprisingly quiet so that I was able to enjoy a relaxing swim along with an occasional dip into the warm jacuzzi. While I was swimming my daughter was having a massage at the Beauty Retreat, which she really enjoyed. As Claire isn't available every day we took the advice on the website and booked the treatment before our stay. This was our second visit to Thurnham Hall and we are hoping to book again soon.

The only thing I can think of is that there was no gluten free bread available for a sandwich at lunchtime.
