Location great with super views and private parking, not always easy in Cartmel! Staff were all good and Sue who was with us on Monday morning for breakfast was brilliant. Top quality ingredients and service with a smile and a chat. We had pre ordered our choices the night before and not a single error. We had chosen “Kent” as our room from the website, it was spotless had a lovely view and a great bathroom with freestanding bath as well as shower cubicle. Both had fabulous pressure and lashings of hot water. We didn't eat evening meal as our mini trip included a Sunday lunch on the way but all the food we saw looked great.

Friendly staff, lovely owners. Good communication before we arrived to notify of a 70th in the restaurant. Not a problem as we were going out. Room was nice - not massive but clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom, also clean. Breakfast was really nice - I had a full english which was really nice and friend had eggs benedict which was also lovely. Property has lovely views situated as it is on the top of a hill.
Nothing really. Is a mile out of town, and the walk back is up a steep hill, but didn't trouble us.

On arrival we was welcomed and shown to our room. I had mentioned it was my partners birthday and in the gorgeous room there was a bottle of iced Prosecco & chocolate. The room & view was lovely, the bed was a good size and really comfortable, quality bedding. A Iron & Ironing board in the room along with hairdryer & tea/coffee/biscuits. Alan who owns Uplands and his family are so friendly. We had food in the restaurant the 1st night, it was delicious and cooked to perfection. Breakfast was very good, plenty to choose from. Cartmel racecourse is only a mile away but there are no pavements if you decide to walk, it's downhill too. On the morning of our departure we had difficulty getting a taxi to take us to the train station at Cark & Cartmel, so Denise who works at the hotel offered to take us. We was so appreciative of this kind gesture. Would definitely return to this lovely place.

Everything was just spot on. A warm friendly welcome, lovely well appointed room with a very comfortable bed and lovely view of the countryside and sea. Lovely grounds for a stroll or just to sit and take in the fantastic scenery. The owners were away at a funeral (our sincere condolences to you) but the ladies who were covering did a fantastic job. The food for our evening meal and breakfast was again excellent - fresh and absolutely delicious. All the staff were just so friendly and helpful. We really can't recommend the Uplands highly enough. Our first visit but hopefully not our last.
Nothing to say here - could not fault any aspect of our stay at all.

Lovely location, very dog friendly, more dogs than people on some days, but all well behaved. The room was fantastic. Lovely views from a large picture window, bed very comfortable, large bathroom with bath and shower, . Restaurant had a small choice but enjoyed what we had, and sunday dinner was nice also. We were lucky with the weather, so we were able to enjoy drinks in the sun on the terrace. I am very pleased with our stay, and we will definitely book again.
Nothing to dislike.

Staff where friendly, bed was sooo comfy, and breakfast was amazingly good... thank you for your services. If we're ever up this way again would definatly stay here. Views where amazing and it was a lovely walk down to the nearest village Cartmel itself where there is a lovely courtyard with its own brewery in the corner that sells its own beer and had live music. Lovely little place and some beautiful buildings to see around the village itself.

Property was as stunning as the description on the website. It had a relaxed friendly vibe. Room was spotless. We were very grateful we were able to get into our room early to get ready for a wedding. As we entered the room a member of their team was just finishing the room, which must have taken a quick turn around. They did a great job!
There was an issue with the toilet which we reported when we left. It was not enough to spoil our stay.

Alan, Sue and the team do a cracking job of looking after their guests. We were made so welcome and they couldn’t have been more hospitable. Everywhere is clean and well maintained to a high standard. Meals we had (breakfast and dinner) were all exceptional and cooked with fresh ingredients. We loved relaxing by the fire with a glass of wine.
There’s nothing not to like.

The room was very spacious and with all the facilities you would expect. Comfy bed and bathroom had shower and bath. The staff went the extra mile, posting a book that I forgot behind. We had a lovely time. The hotel is far from Cartmel centre but we managed to get a taxi for 7£ on way.
Location, we would have liked to be closer to town. The shower needed more pressure
