A Gem of Comfort and Elegance. From the moment we arrived, we felt wrapped in tranquility. The suite was immaculately clean, tastefully decorated with modern touches, and surprisingly peaceful despite being in the heart of the town. We all had the perfect night’s sleep, and the square facing suite offered a gorgeous view over the cloisters. Breakfast was a delight—with generous servings and options for every dietary need, served with care and a smile. The staff truly elevated the experience: warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our stay special. Whether you’re visiting for business or pleasure, this boutique hotel is a sanctuary of style and comfort.

Such a surprise when you walk through the main entrance. From the outside it looks like a very quaint old pub, but once inside it is fresh and modern. Our room was at the front of the Hotel, which overlooked the old Market Square. The Bedroom was extremely nice, with a lovely dressing area, which was separate to the main bedroom. There was a good selection of teas, coffee, and there was also a mini fridge which had fresh milk and a large jug of water, two cans of coke. Also there was some fruit and crisps to enjoy. The bed was very comfortable and everything was very very clean. Lovely toiletries in the bathroom too. The tv had the normal channels but also Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney...my husband and I may have watched a whole series after dinner!!!! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A good selection at Breakfast, I had the Vegetarian English Breakfast but Vegan was also an option along with Eggs anyway and a good selection of pastries. Overall very lovely stay at The Cross Keys.

We only stayed for one night but we did not find anything we did not like.

Nicely updated rooms, modern decor. Right in the heart of the town centre.

It was difficult to tell from the pictures. However as advertised as a family suite it looked as though there was a separate living room area. Whereas in fact the sofa and chairs were in each room. This did not really affect us but I think it should be clearer. Also as an old building it has not been fitted with air conditioning as you would find in an hotel. So given some of the recent heatwaves perhaps installing some fans to help make the rooms more comfortable.

We loved everything about this hotel, the owner was very hands on and so friendly, the staff couldn’t do enough for you. The breakfast was really good and had a nice selection ion the menu, we had dinner one evening which like breakfast wasOur room was over looking the high street which was great and the bed was really comfortable. The location couldn’t have been better.

The parking is shocking but we did find out you can park free in one of the roads off the high street. The car parks are near but not free, also if you have a blue badge it's easier as I found out. Of course this isn’t the Hotel fault

The hotel was located right in the centre of Sherborne, ideal for shops and restaurants. We only had breakfast in the hotel but that was of good quality and plentiful. Coffees/teas were replenished as required at no extra cost. The dining room was clean and comfortable with friendly staff. The owner (Mo) was great and happy to spend time recommending places to go and things to see in the vicinity.

As a small town centre hotel this had everything we needed for a weekend away. We have stayed in other facilities in the centre of Sherborne, but this is the best to date.

We had an incredible stay at the Cross Keys. Mo and his team hosted my Father's funeral wake at the Cross Keys, and we stayed in their family suite for the night. The whole experience was incredible - made so special by Mo, Lucy, David and the girls. Our room was superb, with the biggest bed I've ever slept in, and beautiful views out onto the market square and the Conduit. I can thoroughly recommend a stay at the Cross Keys - the service is exceptional, the rooms amazing, and the breakfast was superb. We also had our evening meal in the restaurant, and it was superb.

There was nothing I didn't like - we will definitely be coming back.

Very good location, around the corner from the beautiful Abbey. Clean, comfortable, with very nice decor and character throughout. Very friendly and helpful staff. Special mention for Megan, Tabby & the young man who was there when we arrived. Visits to The Abbey, Sherborne castle and Sherborne house are a must.

No parking on site but we knew that when we booked. Car parks nearby and good value. Nothing to dislike about the Crosskeys

Service was excellent, attention was just the right level. Room was spacious and I liked the provision of fresh milk rather than long life pots. Nice detail, that. Bed comfortable, everything clean. Scrambled eggs are a litmus test for me. I like mine only just done and full of butter - well done, two days running.

Bathroom a bit small (I guess you had limited space to start with in that room). The sink was almost unusably too small and too low down. Also. I missed not having a desk to sit at. I work when I am away. Had to sit up in bed - most uncomfortable.

Spacious room at front hotel on the first floor. Very light room overlooking square to front hotel. Comfortable bed, good sized tv with range channels nice range coffee and tea, jug water provided together with fresh milk, crisps, apples, biscuits. 2 small armchairs provided. Really good shower . Hotel located on the high street, close restaurants shops and abbey. Excellent breakfast provided continental or variety cooked options .good range evening meals in the pub.

Would be noisy if people sitting outside the pub late at night, 4 foam pillows provided, would prefer 2 to be feather filled. Parking on high street or close by in car park short walk away

Our second visit to the Cross Keys. Brilliant again. We stayed in the slightly larger of the 2 rooms, both looking over the small square. Room 2 is very well appointed with everything you need. Spotlessly clean as well. Staff are delightful, friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is excellent as is all their food. Highly recommended.

Not much to say here really. Just be aware that Sherborne is largely closed on a Sunday night. The Cross Keys closes quite early and on Sunday we only found one pub open in Sherborne after 8pm. Nothing to complain about the room, the staff or the Cross Keys at all. Highly recommended.
