This hotel is ideally located for both the railway station and the centre of Reading. The facilities provided at the hotel common areas and the rooms are excellent.

This is an odd observation to some, but the shower heads are too big for the cubicles they're in. You'll know what I mean if you use them, but the drench type shower certainly provides plenty of water. There is also a bath, a sink and a toilet in a sizeable space, with the loo crowded into a corner. On the next refurb the hotel may wish to reconsider the use of space in the bathroom. Don't let this put you off--the hotel is very comfortable and if this is all I can find to criticise you should be reassured!

I wanted a place close to the train station and you don't get much closer! Still, it was very quiet in my room. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was fabulous, unusually, plenty of mirrors! There was a bath and a shower and both were great - lovely hot water. Good number of TV channels. Lots of space in the room. Good-sized safe that I didn't have to crawl on the floor to access. Small fridge. Kettle provided. Good sized desk. Plenty of plug sockets. Breakfast was excellent, with generous portions.

There's a bit of light seepage from the window blinds, they needed to be a bit wider - but I've had much worse in many other hotels. A coat hook in the very spacious hallway would have been welcome. Some people may prefer a coffee machine to a kettle but there's good coffee at breakfast. It was excellent value, I worry they're not charging enough for what they offer!

The location and the impressive facade of the outside of the building literally across the road from Reading railway station. The warm welcome from the reception staff being late on a Saturday evening. Check in within a minute. Club room was outstanding with more than all the expected luxuries, huge walk in rain shower, fluffy dressing gown and good quality slippers. The bathroom and bedroom amenities were all quality products. The breakfast was unique, a well stocked continental buffet followed by a la carte menu for hot food ordered table side. Excellent food in a calming ambience.

The location of the room was at the front of the building. It was Saturday night so busy outside with passing Christmas revelers and noisy sirens well into the early hours. Any hotel in central Reading would likely experience the same over a weekend.

Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly. If you want a central hotel this is a good choice. There is fairly close parking at the other side of the station (though it's a little expensive).

Obviously a time of the year thing, the hotel was busy and really loud with Christmas parties. We had booked to eat in the bar (restaurant full), but changed our minds when we saw how busy and noisy the bar was (6.45pm), and room service wasn't available either (the reception staff said they doubted it would be available and then the ordering number just kept ringing out). This probably isn't that surprising on a Friday in December, and (being in the centre of Reading) it isn't a huge problem, but we really just wanted to relax after a long week. It was also a little annoying that groups from the bar were smoking at the hotel entrance, blocking the way in.

It was really spacious and the picture didn’t do it justice. The staff are super super friendly and accommodating. The night I came was on the day of the Barclays technical issue and they still allowed me to stay in my room and pay the following morning. Breakfast was also really nice!

The standing shower is really cramped and you have to sit directly under the large shower head - I didn’t have a shower cap so this was extremely uncomfortable. Also the walls are super thin. I couldn’t sleep because I woke up to the sounds of coitus

The reception staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, beds comfy. The room had a wardrobe with ironing board, safe and hairdryer. Good sized t.v, a desk and chair couch and air conditioning. The bathroom had a bath, and separate shower, fluffy white towels and plenty of washing soaps and shampoo. We had dinner in the restaurant which was of a reasonable standard, with original dishes as well as some firm favourites. Although on the road the bedroom was really quiet and it's rare I have a good sleep, but I did here. Breakfast was really good, we enjoyed very much. Good service from staff who were eager to please. All in all a great stay.

If I had to criticise at all, I'd say the bathroom needed a little TLC. I missed the additional details from the hotel, as they were emailed to me and I hadn't read my emails.

The property is close to everything in the town centre, with the train station being directly opposite the property too. The hotel itself is decorated beautifully and is really clean. The staff were polite and helpful.

My room whilst beautifully decorated wasn’t functional in some ways. There was no mirror in my room, which I didn’t realise until after I’d had a shower to get ready for work. Whilst there was a massive mirror in the bathroom, there was no plug socket close enough for me to be able to dry my hair and the lighting wasn’t bright enough for me to try and put my makeup on.

The chap on reception when we arrived on Friday 10th at about 615pm and was present throughout our stay and when we checked out was excellent not sure of his name but he was young guy brown hair and glasses. Very understanding when we checked out a little late and helped us stow our bags for the day. Really friendly helpful genuine guy.

Pillows were way way too soft, and the room looked a bit tired like it needed some tlc but otherwise a fantastic stay would absolutely stay again.

The hotel was reasonably priced, clean, and comfortable. Staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. Location was ideal for the train to London. Shame there was no parking at the hotel but the station allowed overnight parking for a reasonable price and was secure and easy to find and access. Spaces appeared limited so suggest you pre-book.

Only one downside, price of breakfast. Continental breakfast was £18 but choice was limited. In hindsight, we probably should have opted for the full breakfast for £21 which gave us access to the continental plus a choice of hot breakfast. Water for the tea was from a flask, it wasn’t an arm enough. The hotel had a coffee machine, why not invest in a machine that does both. Disappointing.

I like the Scottish brand of toiletries ( Arran) that the hotel using. This caused me to learn more about product. Every servers in the hotel are very nice and helpful . They enjoy the job they are doing 👍🏻 I really love to be served by happy people… The location of the hotel is the most convenient located in Reading, I believe . When you step out from the train station , it is just right before your eyes … Some May think the natural lighting is not enough for the suite I was staying. But I personally quite like the special atmosphere it creates …
