The room was clean modern and spacious. The addition of all the games to play downstairs for free added massively to our stay. It’s in good walking distance of the town. The gym was also a great addition to our stay.

The parking, we parked the in the car park working with the hotel receiving a 40% discount making it around £15 for 24 hours. But to get into the car park on foot after a certain time and through the night it required you to scan a barcode on physical ticket. This is not provided when you pre-book the parking. Therefore we were unable to access our car until the morning when the parking officer was back.

It's closeness to the centre, the breakfast facilities, comfortable rooms and its security. Lovely comfortable relaxation areas.

Service charges at the bar when purchasing drinks, it is a bar and we were not waited on !! I cannot see how it warrants a service charge. This is probably one of the reasons the bar is often empty as drinks are very expensive . I think you need to make people aware of the new carpark system, especially people who have stayed before with the old system. Finally at busy times you need more staff in the breakfast area with people waiting a long time for hot food, bread and milk to be replenished .

This was a lovely stay, the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. We back to the hotel late at night and there was security checking to see that we stayed at the hotel which truly made us feel safe. The hotel is modern and fun. The 24hr access to the gym and facilities and games was truly the cherry on the top for us.

The rooms are a little dark and there is no mirror for make up unless you are in the bathroom but if you have showered the mirror get misty so it makes it a little difficult. The corridors are dark too which sets the mood but there could be a little more light. We did need a microwave for food and they hotel could not help us at all, so this was a little disappointing but didn't ruin the weekend.

The location, staff and facilities were really good.

Turndown service needs work, just before we settled down for the evening we found rubbish from the guests before including sex dice and old condom wrapper. if it hadn’t of been at midnight when we found this I’d of asked to change rooms but it’s not a good look cleanliness is basics!

The location is amazing, only like a 10 minute walk from the trainstation. Tha staff was really friendly and the food was good. We had an amazing view out our window and the room was really nice. We had the breakfast included and there was so much to choose from and everything so delicious. I also loved how they think about small details like having the light switch next to the bed and having one European plug in the room. I will definitely stay there again if I’m visiting that area and I will definitely recommend to others.

I think the only thing I didn’t like was that the door to the bathroom in our room was really thin so you can hear everything that your partner is doing in there.🚽

The pentahotel was a lovely stay, very nice in the city centre. The only thing that was disappointing was the fact I could not invite some friends I was down to see in for a drink past 11pm. Completely understandable but with a 24 hour bar you’d expect to able to invite your friends in for more than an hour under your responsibility. The night-porter who did let us in eventually spoke to me in the phone and said they couldn’t come in, then when I said we will go somewhere else asked for 20 mins, when I declined again he gave us an hour.

The ambience is really nice. The staff were very nice and very helpful. Games and activities by the lobby was great! They still allowed us to play a bit more after checking out. The bed was ok, quite hard but spacious (2 beds joint together). Ive asked if they have a king sized bed but they don’t and all their beds are the same as what we had. There was paid parking nearby and they offer 40% off for hotel guests which was really good. There are a few free disabled car parks right at the front of the hotel which was great for us.

Lovely room, spacious and clean. Many more things to do on the ground floor area than most hotels…sports channels, play darts, pool, shuffleboard. There’s a bar (24/7 for Guests) and lots of comfy seating.

The breakfasts have gone up from £12 to £15:50 since my visit last week (evidently there had been an ‘offer’ for the last few weeks I’d stayed as it should have been £14…still a lot higher increase than inflation), the fact that I never saw Guests flocking for breakfast (even before the hike), shows they don’t have a good pricing strategy (especially as it shoots up to £18 if breakfast is booked in the morning…maybe more…I didn’t ask if inflation had also hit the £18 price). Nb My previous gripe had been the coffee machine giving out only warm and not hot coffee…nothing was ever done (breakfast itself was fine but not worth £15:50, in my opinion!) There are coffee shops only a few minutes walk away, including Nero and Black Sheep.

The room was very good, spacious and clean and the facilities were very good (good location too). I would definitely recommend the hotel but not the breakfast (at this point)…see below!

Breakfast was £12 when I booked in, I didn’t buy the 2nd breakfast until the morning when it had jumped to £18 (the receptionist could have mentioned this but, alas, it’s mentioned somewhere, most probably in the small print!!)…definitely not worth £18!! At present it’s not worth £12 unless you like just above Luke warm coffee as the machines are set at too low a temperature (I’ve previously reported this, as have others, but the Management mustn’t think this is such an issue….great thing is you can pay even more for your breakfast by going out to purchase a hot coffee down the road (sarcasm).. Unless your company is paying, it might be worth going out for breakfast until they sort their coffee machine settings!

Reception staff made us welcome and were helpful and accommodating with requests. Games are a very nice touch in the foyer areas and are free to use. Good size room and bed, the mattress was comfortable. Good size bathroom and walk in shower (with both an overhead and a hose attached shower). A stock of teas, coffee and bottle of water in the room on arrival. Replenished at the reception with no bother. Breakfast was varied and plentiful (hot, cold and continental selections). Worth paying the extra supplement on the room when booking.

Duvet was too small for bed size. Not the best pillows, but enough for the night.
