I only had a one night stay at the Novotel and the room I had was spacious for one and the bed was comfortable. It was nice that there was a swimming pool there but would say the pool was very “chlorinated” . I was up and travelling early on the Saturday morning so it was really good that the breakfast service was ready for 0650 - that made a big difference to me!

The main issue was using the lifts. There were 3 but fairly small and they took a time to arrive once called. By the look of it from journeys I made from the 12th floor people had a bit of a wait as the lifts were full each time. With the swimming area - problems are caused by guests - discarded towels on the floor in the changing area (whereas there is a “bin” to put them in). It might be of benefit to add this area to the cleaning regime? For the room it would be helpful if there was a bottle or two of water in the fridge for tea making purposes.

The room is very spacious. The hotel's location is in the town centre and all the shops are right in front of you. The railway station is just behind the hotel (approx 5 mins walk) and several Reading bus service line stops are in front/near the hotel.

I found the separation of the toilet and the shower a bit inconvenient as there is no water faucet in the toilet. Although the location of the hotel is in the town centre, only Reading buses and taxis are allowed to use the street in front of the hotel (uber car is not allowed to use the road, thus the dropoff point can be quite far).

The property had a friendly feel from the time we checked in to the time we checked out. The room was very comfortable with sofa, large double bed and very cool bathroom having both bath and shower. The hotel had a really nice swimming pool which was warm, we enjoyed the sauna and steam room and used it twice in our overnight stay. The room has heating that worked on a dial which was great to turn up and down as the room got really warm which was nice.

The lift was a little bit difficult when using your key card at night we got stuck and had to ring the bell and a staff member was snappy with us.

Nice clean room and bed, great bathroom with a bathtub and good diverse breakfast! The internet was okay and we quite enjoyed being able to cast from our phone to the TV.

We booked this hotel mainly for the pool and sauna, and while the sauna was great, the overall cleanliness of the facilities left a lot to be desired. The changing areas, especially the women’s, were poorly maintained—no staff in sight, no towels available, and hair in the pool with used towels scattered across the floor. It didn’t create the relaxing atmosphere we were hoping for. That said, we still enjoyed our stay overall, but we feel the wellness area could really benefit from better upkeep and staff presence.

Great location with pre-bookable parking on site. Lovely pool open until 10pm with no booking require which was lovely to have 2 swims in a 1 night stay. Lovely comfortable and spacious rooms with big TVs, separate toilet to bathroom, kettle fridge. Clean, comfortable beds, with fan/heater. Very quiet for a big centred hotel.

Unable to pay cash. The Hotel is cashless, but no prior notice of this was given and I didn’t have my card. Very minimal limited tea coffee sugar and milk, only enough for 2 drinks in a family room. The hotel was extremely warm over night even with the fans, so I struggled to sleep.

Good location in the centre of town, though we avoided trying to reserve a place in the car park , as access seemed tricky. The lifts were always available and efficient. The food was good. There was a bath as well as a shower, which was great. The wi-fi was okay. The hotel was in easy walking distance of shops and also the Thames Path.

The toilet had no sink, so that we had to walk round to the bathroom to wash hands. The bed was a little lumpy. We would have like more electric sockets.

Twin rooms booked. Decor fine. Beds large and comfortable. Nice pillows too! Hotel location excellent. We used the pool which was lovely. Good to be able to park on site. We had to check out early, so couldn't stay for breakfast.

Odd bathroom arrangement with a separate toilet, but no basin. Not a big deal and clearly a space issue. Just pointing it out. We thought that snacks and soft drinks in the reception area were overly expensive. Probably on a par with mini bar prices, but maybe lower them a bit as you're not having to restock a mini bar in bedrooms.

Our room was comfortable. Location was excellent. Greeted warmly by reception and very accommodating as we arrived well before check in. The breakfast was excellent and staff very pleasant. The warmth of Clara greeting you when arriving to breakfast was like a ray of shine.

There was a stain on our carpet and the sink in the bathroom clearly had plumbing issues: the noise when used it was not good. These issues should have been dealt with before a guest was given the room.

I thought the hotel was lovely. On the 10th floor I was unaffected by street noise

Directions to car park. Our SatNav took us to a location that was not the hotel. So as we came around the corner in busy traffic we finally see the hotel ahead and accidentally drove along the bus lane and probably ended up with a ticket. We literally could not find the car park, expecting it to be next to the hotel. The fact it was around the back of all the shops in a quiet service road made it tricky to find. Once we found it and parked in a tiny space the car was very secure behind a large gate.
