Ideal location in quirky tower building for exploring Lucca, which is truly magnificent. Breakfast included. The room is full of interesting ironwork, proper forged heavy coat stand etc. Bedside lamps iron helmets with chain mail dangling. Painted figures everywhere. Perfect for walking Lucca's shopping streets, tours, hiring bikes to cycle the massive walls. Beautiful place. Lucca Cathedral is fantastic as are the walls and medieval streets. Turn left our of here and there's the excellent Antico Osteria dal 1650 restaurant, outstanding, and bit further up Nonna Clara trattoria.

Shower - one of those really small corner square glass boxes with 2 sliding doors. Awkward all round in tiny bathroom, however space is limited in an ancient tower room, and its wardrobe and wheelie stand were fine keeping stuff off floor. Some street noise as Lucca wakes up in the morning and a lively Saturday session with performers in the street outside, but we didn't mind.

I highly recommend this place for a stay in Lucca. The hotel is right in the center, close to everything, and within walking distance from the train station. It’s a beautiful building, tastefully renovated with respect for its history, and the rooms are very stylish. Our room’s window faced the street, and even though I’m a light sleeper, I slept wonderfully - the mattress was very comfortable. It’s an interesting property right in the heart of Lucca- close to lots of sights, bars, restaurants and shops. An old property, so by it’s very nature it is slightly cramped and dark, with steep steps up to the rooms- but it’s full of character which befits the middle-age history of the beautiful town of Lucca. The breakfast was nice, and the main assistant was lovely- very helpful and friendly

The air conditioning didn’t work The bed was a little bit soft (I have back problems)

The communication prior to our visit was excellent. The location of the hotel was superb being in walking distance of the train station and located in the heart of Lucca. The front door was a little hard to find but once inside it felt authentic, a little quirky and put a smile on our faces. The room looked amazing, was clean and comfortable. Sara and Gabriella were very helpful. All in all we had the best time in Lucca and the Antica Corte dei Principi charming rooms were a large part of that.

Franca is marvellous and so helpful, she hung out from the top window upon our arrival, to let us know where to get in, as the entrance to the hotel is very subtle, big dark doors that take you up medieval steps...not your usual hotel entrance, just awesome... Franca pointed us in the direction of all the unique things that the beautiful town of Lucca has to offer... The hotel is right in the centre, and you feel like you have stepped back in time, it was very befitting for our visit to Lucca..

The bed...Too soft and |I spent the whole night trying to stop falling into the middle of the bed....New mattresses needed...

The decor is super fun and interesting, hand painted "frescos", the rooms are decorated like a medieval tower. Franca was exceptionally friendly and helpful, she helped with car parking, locating the hotel, entry and in the morning she made us coffee with our breakfast! The location is central to everything. Super cute spot! Highly recommend.

The large TV in the room, I know some people want this amenity, but I'm on vacation in ITALY!! I do not require a TV, also the light on the TV was very bright and acted like a nightlight. But I understand some customers might like this feature, I did not.

You cannot beat the location! The room was very clean and comfortable. Gabriella was incredibly helpful in terms of recommending things to do, getting a taxi when it was time to leave, etc. I would definitely stay there again!

I especially like the design of the room, which was simply amazing. The room wasn't precisely large, but sufficiently sized and clean. The self check-in was without any problems. The lady at the reception at check-out was very helpful and nice.

We had a room with windows into the street. When we arrived, it seemed like a quiet street, but in the morning around 6 o'clock they started doing something noisy in the street (no idea what, but we heard shattering of glass and something like pressure washing machine). But we might have been unlucky, that it was done on the particular day.

The room was lovely. Beds comfy. Very friendly host. The breakfast was lovely in the dining room next to our bedroom. We were able to help ourselves and there was a nice choice of cereal, pastries, ham, cheese, fruit etc and a coffee machine. Great central location. A lovely gelato shop right outside. The entrance was lovely too.

A bit dark in the room but added to the atmosphere I guess. Plus we stayed when it was raining so that would have made it darker.

Lovely room in a medieval building in centre of Lucca. The room was clean and beautifully decorated. Our host was helpful and friendly. We stayed 2 weeks and loved it.

The shower was small but adequate. The room is up 2 flights of stairs but we were aware of this. The very minor difficulties were totally offset by staying in a historic building.
