Arrived ahead of check in time however room all ready and available. Friendliness of staff was genuine plus very happy to assist with any questions. Were lucky to get a room upgrade with sea view - room stunning plus underfloor heating in bathroom always a bonus !! Enjoyed afternoon drinks before dinner in one of the restaurants - food fresh, very warm and tasty. Relaxed atmosphere and a very welcoming feel. Cracking night's sleep in a very comfortable and large bed followed by really tasty breakfast in morning. Nothing was too much trouble, loved the venue, staff and food plus room perfect - so much so my good lady already looking at dates when we can book a return visit !! Thank you.

The food at breakfast was great, plenty to choose from and the buffet style was great as you could pick and choose and go back as many times as you liked. The room sizes were great, nice and big and spacious. There was also a menu on the table at breakfast which you could choose from if you wished.

The access to the back of the hotel was very very poorly lit in the evening, yes there were low lights on the walk way, but at the sliding doors there was no lighting whatsoever, we were there with my dad and I definitely would not let him walk in and out of those back doors in the evening, at some points when walking through the door, you couldn't even see you feet, so it was a bad trip hazard waiting to happen. We did highlight to a manager who thanked us for our feedback.

From the moment we arrived, we could tell this place is magical. The views are spectacular, the property itself has a great location, the room was very clean and comfortable, the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet, which was included in our room rate, was one of the best I have seen. To play golf at St.Andrews is a special experience, but the Fairmont St.Andrews took it to “trip of a lifetime” level. I have spent many years staying in hotels all over the world - I would have to put the Fairmont St.Andrews in my top one or two favorite hotels - it’s that good. One last recommendation - don’t miss dinner at sunset at the St.Andrews Bay Clubhouse Bar and Grill - unbelievable !

The building is beautiful. The room was spacious, modern and had good natural and artificial light. The bed was large, comfortable and the bedding soft and warm. The disability facilities in the room were very good. The food offering was locally sourced, cooked and presented well. The staff were, without exception friendly, well mannered and helpful., often without being asked. The hotel offered and provided transport to the grill and steakhouse which was a short distance from the main building. There are good sporting (golf), leisure and spa facilities. Used by international and domestic guests

We stayed in a room which, as requested, had facilities for those with disabilities. The room was very good but just about as far as possible away from the lifts, reception and catering facilities. There was a very long corridor to walk, with nowhere to sit and rest until near the end. Pain and poor mobility made moving around a very difficult experience. The availability of a wheelchair would have greatly improved our stay. Inside the room, a person in a wheelchair or just sitting at the table could not see to use the mirror to apply makeup or brush hair. Likewise in the shower room, where the shaving mirror also was at standing height. There was no shelf or table in front of the large mirror.

Loved the spaciousness and design of the hotel. The decor, fixtures and fittings, architecture and layout are all great. Furniture is all high end, classic, large and comfortable. Rooms are good size and very comfortable with excellent facilities. Good shower, comfy bath. Very friendly and helpful staff without exception. Food was fantastic the breakfast was especially delicious.

Booking.com says there is a shuttle bus every day every hour to and from St Andrews from 10am to 10pm - it's a minor thing, but it doesnt run 'til 10pm every day - only weekends Thurs to Sun or maybe Fri to Sun.

Stunning hotel, the staff were so lovely and couldn't do enough for you. The shuttle service was great, as we spent the day in st andrews and then got dropped at the Bay Clubhouse for dinner.

We booked the spa but left after 15 minutes due to it being full of screaming children. I would expect a hotel like his to perhaps look at set times for children. It would have been awful for anyone who had booked treatments and wanted to relax afterwards. The dining experience was disappointing. We had dinner in the Bay Clubhouse, and our order got given to the wrong table. The staff brought out our mains but then there was a wait for the sides. We ordered breakfast in the morning and after 30 minutes of waiting, I asked the staff and were told that the chef didn't receive our order because the printer had broke. I then ordered a latte when breakfast finally arrived and it was cold. Not what I would have expected for such a lovely venue and for the cost.

Excellent location for our needs and a very drive into St Andrews. Lots of parking. We had a lovely spacious room. Hotel decor was beautiful. Really friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Several in-house restaurants (however app said were full but reception desk booked for us). Room service. Loads of towels. They permit dogs to stay, which is handy to know for another time. The hotel was quiet, comfortable and had lots of ambient places to sit.

Room had lots of lamps which made the room shadowy and harder to see what doing when doing your hair. Plus, the mirrors in room were a full length (but with nowhere to place hairdryer in front of) and a higher decorative mirror which you could only see in if you stood. This was over and offset to a desk. Had to stand to do hair at an odd angle. Was a bit uncomfortable.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff. Lots of open space to relax or let children explore. We ate in the hotel for dinner and the food was really nice, quite expensive but expected for a hotel. Rooms were clean and spacious with good attention to detail

Check in was late, it's already quite late at 4pm but our rooms were not ready till close to 5pm which really impacts on your stay when it's only one night. Appreciate the reception staff can only do so much, but they seemed quite overwhelmed Breakfast options are great, however one of our family ordered a poached egg and another a hard boiled (to give to an infant) the hard boiled egg was almost completely raw, and the the poached egg was extremely undercooked. Again, I think the staff maybe overwhelmed and could do with more help? Pool facilities are pretty good, nothing out of the ordinary.

The warm welcome we received on arrival from Edward at the front desk. The complimentary bottle of Prosecco in our bedroom for my husband's birthday. The voucher for 2 free drinks. The incredible variety of food available at breakfast. The polished, helpful demeanour of all staff we encountered. The menthol smell in the steam room. The clean pool. The comfortable beds. The fact that the majority of our fellow guests appeared to be as happy and relaxed as we were.

The coffee at breakfast - just a small thing, but real filter coffee would have been great, We felt the spa booking system could perhaps be automated rather than having to make a phone call.

I The bedroom was large and had an excellent view of the sea. Lots of cupboard space. Huge television. Quiet. Well mannered staff.

I strongly object that men were allowed to wear caps in the dining areas. This is unforgivable in a restaurant. It is so rude. The head waiter should have told the men to remove their caps before being escorted to a table. It is very bad mannered. When foreigners visit a country they should follow the etiquette of that country. It was the American and Canadian men. No British man would even dream of so doing.
