Everything about Beechwood was great from the self-check in (although Shona was there to meet us) to the breakfast (available on request). They had thought about everything we might need in the room and nothing was too much trouble. We were also able to use the very comfortable lounge where there was also fresh milk and ice available if required. The room was large and very comfy with a super cosy duvet, seating and tea/coffee making. David and Shona also made us a great breakfast which was excellent value and made lots of recommendations for local attractions and were happy to help in any way they could.

Quaint, stayed in loft room, sky light and window... could peak over rooftops and see the sea. The host was great. There is a little convenience store across the road. Found a great cafe' a short drive away in the town. Fun driving to explore the castle ruins in Dunure.

Not much within walking distance food wise. Few things were closed... There is a "laundry in the wall" just across the road, which was great, except people use if for dog blankets mainly... so was full of dog hair... still, at least we could do an emergency load of washing.

The room was very clean and welcoming great for families I would definitely book again.

I believe there was an issue with the heating as it was on all night and I overheard another room mentioning it to staff, The simple solution was to open the windows it didn't affect our stay too much, The only other thing was I couldn't get hot water from the bathroom tap but again this wasn't a big issue

Very nice comfortable room for a short stay in Ayr, the decor was excellent taste, the bed comfortable, warm , with all necessary amenities. The shower and toilet clean and comfortable, the lights good, towels etc adequate for a comfortable stay. The location was good, walking distance from the centre and near sights. Free parking on site or nearby. Would stay again.

I booked an ensuite room at Beechwood the night before a wedding I was photographing locally. I'll be honest, it was a last minute booking and I didn't really do much research but I was really impressed with my stay here. The room was very cosy and comfortable, beautifully prepared with everything I needed. Modern bathroom and an incredibly comfortable bed. The house was quiet and welcoming. I actually wish I could have stayed for a bit longer to taste the breakfast! Thanks for my stay :)

The property was in a good location. The hosts were fabulous. Couldn’t do enough to help us. Breakfast was excellent. The property was spotless clean and they had provided all the facilities to make our stay enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this property and have already done so to friends and family. We will be returning here sometime in the future.

The interaction and chit chat with David made the stay! Small gestures in room such as crisps and biscuits. Breakfast was fresh and amazing, not your usual greasy fry up. Very accommodating and friendly. Little cosy room downstairs to watch tv, plenty of books and some board games available. Easiness of access/instructions. Very informative on local area. Highly recommend and hopefully book next year!

We had adjoining rooms up in the attic. Our rooms were lovely and one of them had a beautiful view. Beds were very comfortable, and there were chips and cookies, tea and coffee, and each room had a fan, which helped a lot when it got warm. The stairs were a challenge, but worth the climb in the end…and good for a laugh as the last two flights at the top were very narrow. The owners served a lovely breakfast, or you could have continental. Loved this accommodation and would stay again. You could walk pretty much anywhere from here too!

The guesthouse is absolutely gorgeous, very cosy and home like feel! The facilities were great, ice machine in reception along with the nice touch of a makeup remover cloth in the bathroom. The bed was so comfy I didn’t want to get up the following morning. Both owners were so welcoming and accommodating! The whole place was very well thought out and little touches that just made the stay even more enjoyable.

The guesthouse is a gorgeous old property with some lovely features, it’s beautifully decorated and kept spotlessly clean. We stayed as a family of 5 with two adult teenagers, the eldest had their own room on the first floor and we took the top floor with our youngest teen which was great as he had his own space whilst still being with us it was home from home really! Lovely bathrooms and very comfortable beds, we didn’t have breakfast as we were off early to the airport but sure it would’ve been lovely.
