Amazing atmosphere in house and grounds, exactly what we were looking for. First of all Anne must be commended for being incredibly accommodating regarding some logistical challenges we had in getting to Inverness from Edinburgh, and for this alone I would leave a five star review. Room suite was spectacular with a gorgeous and outstandingly comfortable bed. Food expertly prepared and staff were generally attentive.
We felt that perhaps due to being sandwiched between two weddings with some guests whose presence wasn't always... soothing, the staff felt a bit overstretched and at times forgot to tend the fireplace, which would have been no issue if we were permitted to look after it ourselves but this was also expressly forbidden. We appreciated nevertheless that the staff took great pains to be as professional and attentive as possible.

Family run with excellent local people Nothing was too much trouble Lovely location on the foreshore Impressive furnishings The food was original and well executed. No need to eat out -fortunate as we were refused a hire car. Too old !!
This beautiful hotel has been persuaded that Muzak is a good idea. Continuous background musical wallpaper disturbs the otherwise wonderful atmosphere. Fortunately I sensed the staff feel the same way as it was at a low level. Turn it right off and remove the ugly loudspeakers. The dining room was impressive but I am not a fan of lighting with ceiling spots. Easy forgotten once one was seated.

Fabulous breakfast, as it’s cooked to order remember to ask for your tea or coffee to be served at the same time as the breakfast is served otherwise it will be cold. Rooms comfortable and quite spacious, beds comfortable but pillows could be firmer, staff very pleasant and courteous, if you find it hard to walk ask for a room on the lower floors otherwise there are a lot of steps. If you are into fancy foods then there is a great dinner menu in the restaurant, if not the bar menu is also good.
The climb to the room was the only issue we had but managed ok if we took our time.

Beautiful house, stunning location. Staff were so helpful, kind and professional. Dinner was delicious (but be prepared for small quantities, it is fine dining after all!) . Elegant lounge and dining room with fabulous views of the Loch. Breakfast was copious and good quality, all served, not buffet.
This was our most expensive hotel on our Scotland tour so I had expected more - our twin room was just adequate, decor and furnishings all rather tired, no chairs till staff kindly brought them up for us.

Location is perfect with full vibe of Scottish Highlands. Though a historical house since 1621, Bunchrew has been renovated and maintained so good and functioning so well. The landscape and the view on the other bank is really typical for Scottish Highlands that made you don't want to leave the property. Dinner and breakfast were so nice as they were awarded with many accolades.
The small milk bottle in the fridge could be better replaced with a small individual package from the manufacturer as your refillable ones now has neither any label nor expiry date on it.

The building and surroundings are stunning! The breakfast options are all made to order and absolutely wonderful! We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant our first night and the quality of meal was superb! The bar has a nice selection of whiskey and cocktails - lovely environment for a dram in the evening. The superior rooms are quite spacious.
Water temp and pressure in the bath was inconsistent. Housekeeping was also disappointing. Experienced lengthy waits for taxis to/from the center of town.

The atmosphere, the welcome from Andrew and Lil, the service in the restaurant, the quality of the food, and the comfort of the room were terrific. Would definitely come back. All meals were delicious - we had a light supper on our first night, the Scottish grill breakfast, which kept us going all day and then a wonderful 3 course meal, locally sourced. Excellent range of whiskies. Word of warning - not cheap!
This isn't a complaint or quibble, just a warning to save your pennies: the food is beautiful, outstanding quality, excellent chef, but it is expensive.

We were in the Lovat suite, which is on the front of the house with a garden view. Very large with a king-sized canopy bed and a nice bathroom. Wonderfully creaky floors, which is just right for a very old house. We loved relaxing in the drawing room by the wood fire. The staff were all fantastic. The breakfasts were made to order and delicious. The grounds are maintained beautifully, and the location is great - only 10 minutes to Inverness. The water view is so lovely and the whole thing is perfectly romantic.
Our room could use some updated, more comfortable seating options. You need a chiropractor after sitting on the chaise.

The dinner was excellent, great food, well presented and discreet yet highly attentive and polite service.
The room that we were allocated was unfortunately troubled by water running through the pipes in the cupboard loud enough to wake us from sleep. Badly worn furniture that could do with reupholstery and a stained valance on the bed. In the sitting room half of the settees are very tired.

From the moment you are driving down the long driveway you feel the essence of the property's history and elegance. The property sits on the loch overlooking the sun rise and sun set with the massive water out back. In the front are huge trees 400+ years old and well maintained grounds. They called this a house but this is a stately mini castle with canopy beds, luxurious sheets, towels, and quality of furniture. My group felt like Lords and ladies here! We dined for dinner and breakfast and the staff provided a timely and quality experience. Well done!
Nothing to complain about, fantastic property!
