the beach pools and location are fab, so are the facilities in terms of spa and staff. also, amenities in the room were very good. I do recommend if you're looking for secluded and relaxing place.

outdoor toilets and bathrooms as much as it sounds exotic, we need to understand we are in middle of jungle, which now is being reclaimed and not everything goes as per plan. mosquitoes, dung beetles, frogs, all were a plenty despite numerous people working round the clock in 2 shifts to clean them up. please note, it's still is a great place but just not for us if you're paying that kind of rates.

We stayed in a villa with private pool. The villa was very nicely decorated and comfortable. The private pool was huge and very clean. The outdoor shower might not by everyone’s taste, but we liked it. The outdoor lounge by the pool, was in the shade and comfy. The entire resort is well maintained and looks beautiful. Amazing food in the restaurant! We didn’t plan to eat there every night but ended up doing just that. Every dish we ordered was extra ordinary and mouthwatering. We can highly recommend Sala Phuket. The only “downside” - but we just mention it because we think a policy like this is really not common in Thailand - is that the prices are given net on the menu, 17 % in total are added at the end. Even though this policy is transparently flagged, we found it a bit irritating and definitely not necessary.

Overall, the resort is in the best location in Phuket in our view (Maikhao beach is really tranquil). We have stayed in the signature villa with private pool and we must admit we loved it. The pool was huge, privacy was ensured in an excellent way and the outdoor bath is super cozy. Anyway, we would rate villa per se as 10/10. Hotel amenities. First of all, breakfast and food was really good. We would rate service 6/10

Villa. To be noted, we felt that the villa is a bit worn out and might need a renovation soon. Hotel amenities. However, overall service (though some people were really professional) was a bit chaotic and subpar. People in the reception sometimes seemed confused and did not know well what services the hotel was offering. Also, they have one single area for restaurant, bar, pool and sun beds, which is crowded whole day. e.g. in the restaurant, dinner time, there were a number of people with children who were screaming, running around and so on, and the staff was incapable to manage those. The hotel that pretends to be a romantic one either should be “adults only” or have separate areas for people without and with children. Children kill all the romance.

Location on Mai Khao was awesome, perfect beach with great views and the sea. Plane viewpoint was about 10-15 minutes drive from the hotel. Shuttle buse to Turtle Village was a great add-on. Service was very good, all the requests were handled via application. Pools are really cool with nice water and there was always possibility to use cabanas and sunbeds for our comfort. Kids also enjoyed Sala farm and usage of bicycles.

Despite our Sala One Bedroom Villa had quite a big pool, overall we didn't like that bathroom and toilet were located outside of the house. So, absolutely not enought privacy. Villa itself is not new, I would prefer to have more modern option for the money we paid. Last but not least, if you're with kids, you need to be very attentive because pool is very close to the entrance, and kids may fall down into it.

The service from end-to-end was lovely, warm, and professional. The hotel premises in themselves are beautiful, well maintained, perfect to find serenity and get in the mood for your holidays. We have been upgraded to a villa with a pool upon arrival, which was wonderful in itself but also to experience - the room was spacious, wonderful views over the pool, an outdoor bathroom with a shower and a tub, nice decoration... I took great advantage of the spa - highly professional therapists, and a beautiful setting to relax also. The lunch menu is really good (special mention to the BBQ ribs). I did a Muay Thai and yoga class, which were great as well - finally, we did the James Bond Island tour as well, which was a great experience. They have a farm onsite as well which I didn't have the chance to visit.

Only thing - dinner service was slow to very slow - for some reason it is not as well organised as the lunch service, which makes it hard to enjoy your time if you're tired or have plans after. The quality of the dishes on the evening menu is also more heterogeneous than during lunch time. The breakfast buffet is good but could be of higher quality and more varied for an establishment of this standing.

The hotel is beautiful, and its location is excellent. I loved the breakfast restaurant with its wonderful seating and beautiful view. The breakfast is better than in previous visits. The staff is cooperative and welcoming to guests. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The swimming pool is wide but needs to be cleaned or the water needs to be renewed.

The lighting in the rooms is somewhat dim, and the room design with many heavy doors can be annoying at times. There are many crawling insects, but this is natural in such environments. The curtains in the rooms are excessively long, causing them to get dirty from frequent contact with the floor. The swimming pool needs the water to be renewed. The beach is not clean and seems to be ignored for long time. I suggest that SALA and other near hotel collaborate and hire local people to clean the beach regularly, which comes with benefits to the locals and to the visitors.

Everything is exceptionnal. From very far the best in north Phuket. Elegant, quiet, stylish.

It is crowded with mosquitos (but they try to do something) and Russians, you feel like you’re in a russian vacation camp sometimes.

We had a great short Honeymoon here at the hotel and even got upgraded to the Pool Villa which was amazing. We were warmly welcomed and they even set up the room with petals and a romantic arrangement. The staff and overall resort exceeded our expectations and would definitely love to come back again! Highly recommend staying here! Great facilities as well!

Only comment for improvement would be the pizza - my husband is italian so expectations are higher haha, but not at all a problem nor did it impair our overall experience.
