Very warm welcome; staff let me drop off my backpack before I checked in, even though I was very early. Room was spacious and comfortable; cooked breakfast was excellent; beer very nicely kept; my stay was very comfortable and the location's excellent: close to the railway station, cathedral and shops. Customer service was excellent throughout.
I'm used to a walk-in shower. My room had a bath with shower but apart from that the room was fine - and the bed was very comfortable.

Large bathroom with full size bath Good breakfast - well cooked eggs and bacon Bar with a good selection of cocktails Outdoor seating area
An old building with creaky floors. My room was close to the stairs and I knew when everyone else went to bed and got up Steep narrow steps to the rooms Secondary double glazing not enough to keep the noise from the pub garden out Water in shower too hot, and I could not turn it down - I think the showers need some routine maintenance

A lovely few days in Chichester booked late, haven't been to the town before. Hotel is the center of town parking 🅿️ at the rear and short walk inside. The room was on the first floor, a very steep set of stairs to get up , room was clean and comfortable and no issues with it, Big breakfast in the morning and lots of choices to eat, staff were lovely, Stephen and Saskia were friendly very helpful and wanted us to enjoy our stay which we did, we will be coming back

Very good looking room, confortable and very quiet though it was just above the pub. The only noise came from the street. Great full english breakfast. Friendly staff who talked easily with us. Very interesting place as being a pub, we could have lunch and have some drinks later in the evening. Chichester is a small (friendly) town so the pub is nearly in the city center and at the same time close to the station.
Difficult to find what could be better for such a fair price.

Wonderful location, lovely staff especially Libby who was exceptional, great food & good facilities with a very clean room.
Though it was stated WiFi was free, the automatic questions to access it were too personal to be comfortable about security such as email address, full name, date of birth & postcode. Never been asked anything like this wherever stayed around the world - normally given network address & a password. Stairs very steep to access rooms.

The cooked breakfast was very good. Some soft fruit would have been better than the apple and banana provided, but otherwise all was excellent. The crispy toast was lovely. The central location was great and surprisingly quiet . The bed was comfortable: more so than in some more upmarket places!
It seemed impossible to open the window - not really a problem, but would be in hot weather. .

The central location and the staff were friendly
I had a front room which was quite noisy with people outside into the early hours. Although there was triple glazing windows I could not shut these, so only had a single layer of glaze. Also, doors of neighbouring rooms were slamming shut in the early hours. The room was very hot - although the radiator thermostat was set to zero it still came on. I reported this and the staff said they would turn it off centrally but this didn’t work either!

Lovely comfortable room, very clean. Fantastic cooked breakfast available in the mornings. And ALL the staff were friendly, helpful and talkative.
Disturbed by noise in the street outside, in the middle of the night. But NOT the fault of the hotel, of course.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Nice to have evening meals available.
The biggest offput is there is no parking. The one behind the pub is so expensive (£16 odd for 10 hours) and you have to run out early to avoid a fine first thing. To check out at 11am I paid £5.70 that morning! This adds considerably to the cost of a stay and will put people off staying there

We arrived late at night during the trivia game in the bar. It was great fun to watch. But the best thing about the Trent was the staff. Supper friendly and helpful.
Thé stairs leading up to the hotel rooms are very steep, not ideal for us octagenarians. Also, the Chichester cathedral was closed for the upcoming flower show so we never saw the inside of it. I guess we will have to plan a return visit
